I'm a huge car nerd.......if I happen to see Hiro in a park with thin slices of any meat.....the new car is invisible! Nice color though!
Seeing the Fairlady Z just made me a bigger fan. Respect.
is that A5?
Who said the 370 wasn't practical!
@@banestock well, that's not a 370z
@@gabryelporto6662 pretty much the spiritual successor..
Those are crazy prices. The Costco in my town only has single cut ribeye for $99.99 per pound. $60 is a heck of a deal!
I know! Where is our deal?!
because its near expiry. Our costco had it for 70$ last month, then it still didnt sell, the week after they cut the price further to 35$ per pound for an a5 ribeye slab. Bought 10lb immediately. Freezer is your friend here.
@@chookchack For sure the freezer is a great friend. I'd definitely buy discounted product of this quality bc it's passed some date, while being frozen the whole time. Sure, maybe it's not "perfect", but I'm pretty sure the joy of eating it will make you forget it's slightly less good than super fresh.
@@trentbildstein5610 no, it was not passed its date. They would never sell that, they’ll get sued. Two weeks before expiration, they reduced to $70 (orig price is 99/lb). One week after they reduced to $35. Remaining stocks after expiration date will probably be tossed out.
@@chookchack I should have been more clear here. I understand they couldn't sell something past a date. However, I wouldn't have any concern buying something right up on it's date and then storing it in my freezer, possibly for a year. But the main point I'm making is that I agree with you...great opportunity here when using a freezer.
❤❤ Awesome first class picnic. Everything looks so yummy. Hiro San and his Su-V Gun making magic.
I bought the full rib roast, cut it up and gave it to family for Xmas presents. It goes without saying that my gifts were a massive hit!
I got wagyu yesterday because I feel like eating yakiniku at home. so tender and melt in my mouth. 100g for 1080 yen. so roughly $35/lb. It was so good
Glad you both are back, missed the videos
Always a pleasure to watch master at work.
Let’s go! Consulting is a great idea. If you can teach a total newb like me to make sushi, then imagine what the pros can learn.
That’s professionals sharing a casual day of cooking. I really appreciate it. I can almost taste the steaks. Thank you for your presentation.
Stop eating animals its a sin it’s wrong animals are people not food!!!! Jesus told me you will live to see the rapture.
Tastes Fucking Raw
Mmmmm the music (choice) + the searing, cutting and so on is good. Keep it up!
What a GREAT video!!!!!! Thank you gentlemen.
i love the respect he uses to all the food he plates
Was the onion in water or vinegar?
I usually yell insults at my food after I plate it
I picked up one these about a month ago. It was great!
Supposedly the wagyu from Costco that they import from is a wholesaler that gets their supply from Kagoshima. And the local Costco in my area sells it for 99.99 a pound frozen.
Love this show !!
Thanks
Love the kids admiring the car lol 😂❤ you never know who you will inspire
Hiro, my friend, g11d aftern11n!!!
Meeting you in the park by chance and having steak with you and your cameraman would be like a dream coming true... Hopefully, this will happen one day here in Germany!!!
❤️🇯🇵❤️🇩🇪❤️🇺🇲❤️
🥩🔪🥢🥩🔪🥢🥩🔪🥢
As always the plating was food for my eyes. I’ve had Kobi beef once when in Kobi Japan. It’s so good I agree the melt in your mouth so so good. But as a treat ok. I really do prefer a prime cut ribeye tho. I can eat a pound of prime but no way a pound of wagu.
Thank you for this video!
Awesome car had a 350z and the balance is so fun to drive. Love me some stakes made wagyu burgers before and came out great!
As always, your work looks delicious!! Thank you for your great videos. In this video, it would be interesting to know more about the “wagyu”. The price paid suggests a “No” answer to the following question, nonetheless, is it genuine wagyu from Japan? If so, doesn’t real wagyu come with a pedigree document? I have heard that some angus cows in the USA have been crossbred with wagyu cows from Japan, but isn’t such beef required to be identified as “angus-wagyu”, or “wagyu style”? Of course your video identified the beef as “Costco wagyu”, but I’m still curious to learn what you guys are actually eating / comparing. And in turn your, opinions about this Costco sourced wagyu. You do mention it being “oily”, which you attribute to the cooking of the meat as a “steak “ rather than, I’m guessing, teppan style? For a true “worth it?”, how would you describe the Costco wagyu compared with A5 Japanese wagyu?
What was that sauce he put on top of the steak right after the onions. It looked like soy sauce, but I think it's Ponzu Suace right? I want to try adding ponzu sauce to my steaks!
This guy is for real, good stuff
I just watch Hiro's videos to see what car he is driving. This one is nice. Lovely
that nissan is so clean!!! i love it
my man is daily driving a Nissan Z. respect for actually driving that sports car. Everyone I know from cars and coffee and other local meets keep theirs in a garage and have barely any miles on it.
As a long time viewer/fan....I'm now convinced Hiro's edge on his gyuto is sharper than my surgeon's equipment at NW here in Chicago....Do you do appendictomys by any chance?!...Awesome video...to hang out in a park w/Hiro eating Wagyu!
I have some leftover A5 ribeye cooked up in the fridge right now yet watching this I am going yum wish I had some "Oh yeah it's in the fridge!" cooked up 24oz of it yesterday along with a bunch of other steak. It's so amazing. Glad to see how easy it seems to find now for a good price.
A3 is better
Ah! I was wondering about those. Thanks for trying it out. I'll go grab one for this weekend. A5 Wagyu here I come!
Still getting it??
not sure if it's A5, but it looks like legit wagyu
Love it, gives me ideas for the next company BBQ. Got to bring my Z too.
Guys, always watch for near expiry wagyu from costco. Ours had them for 70 bucks, a week after they still have a lot of stocks they cut the price to 35$. Just freeze the meat good.
I actually really enjoyed the music in this video.
I'm glad hiro is becoming so successful
Haha! I’ve see this man cooking while I’m jogging at the park. I’m coming over and saying hi 😂
Bought a A5 NY strip at my local Costco. Pan fry seared and oven to medium rare. First few bites tasted great then it’s like eating pure butter. My girlfriend and I together couldn’t finish just one steak. Ended up making the leftover into tacos.
TACOS!!!!! what a disgrace
@@johnnyboy9837then you really don't want to hear about the smash burgers I made with seventy percent elk and thirty percent Costco wagyu 😂😂😂
Woow, That is great news for business owner. Costco wagyu very interesting.
Love the Z. Hopefully he was able to get that performance trim at MSRP!
I was gonna hope the same.
The video is very nice to watch, thanks a lot for sharing such a nice video, go ahead, I'm with you. you Be by my side.❤❤
Looks absolutely 💯 👌 perfect!!! Would love to just have a taste 😊
That is so so good
that looks amazing.
Master Chef, RESPECT!
Master Sushi* Chef.
I bought a whole 11lbs A5 prime rib roast from Wagyu Shop, definitely worth every penny!
Whats that metal grate you put over the grill and where can I get one??? that would make using public grills possible or cleaning your own so much easier, I never even thought about this!
Awesome content as always! Where is that park at? Looks familiar
loved that new z!
いつも美味しそうなお料理を見せてもらっているので、今夜はこれにします。😊
Sick video!
These pro's whipping up a 125+ dollar plate at the park like its just a casual thing. LOVE THIS!
Nobody would pay $125 for raw, unseasoned steak smothered in ponzu sauce. -_-
@@ellea3344 as a Chicagoan who lives downtown and works in the financial district....prices for food like that and 25 dollar drinks are normal.
@TheGoonSquadd No restsraunt serves beef like that. It was unseasoned and raw. Nobody wants to pay for an upset stomach.
@@ellea3344 @5:11 please see exact moment of seasoning…
@TheGoonSquadd Seasoning a steak requires the seasoning to sit on the meat for at least 45 min. Similar principle to letting the meat rest after cooking so that the juices do not flow out of the meat when you cut it (resting requires ~5 min). The salt needs time to absorb the moisture and soak back into the meat. Salt and fat = flavor. They only seasoned the surface and cooked immediately. There was NO flavor in the chewy raw center. They didn't use finishing salt after slicing meat either. They just drown the raw meat in Ponzu sauce. Properly cooked meat to reach maximum flavor should be cooked to medium rare. Wagyu to medium, or the fat will not render correctly. Fat = flavor. Iff you are cooking steak only on a grill or cast iron, you need a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temp of the meat reaches ~135 degrees. The more you know...
Nice ride chef!
Was looking at a stealth grey Nissan Z with blue interior ...so beautiful
The Nissan Z is so cool. It's a pity we don't have it in Europe.
Saw you on Guga, figured I would check out your channel. Of course the second video I view is about steaks. 🤣 Great stuff, have a sub! Also, the consulting package idea (food service + content + help of your channel) is a genius idea. Looking forward to see what comes of it.
Need to go back to his old videos here and have a blast so many great videos. I've been watching Hiro since he started the channel out one of the best out there for sure! :)
@@DrivingWithJake I will and am looking forward to it. I did the same thing with Guga's channel and have been itching for something along those lines. I totally the stoic chef vibe Hiro gives off. Makes when he laughs that much more entertaining.
Wait, this Chef was on Guga, and he still did this to steak? Uncle Roger would pass out from saying "Hayaa" through this entire wideeo.
@@DrivingWithJake He's great with Sushi and fish.
Wow that looks super 😭Amazing stuff and eating outside what a bliss 😼
Costco does a really good job with their meats, always quality.
yes, same with the fish! Always fresh
Costco is more expensive, but not necessarily better quality than any other reputable retailer. Their selection and availability of Prime and Wagyu is solid.
Looks delicious... This is Bobby from Costco at Mt. View
Mad respect for the grill as eggs and traegers seem to rule big chefs, with the last one a glorified smoking microwave. My best steak ever was over a camp fire ring grate using white oak coals for heat.
im more of the fan of the fact that there a new Nissan z in the background. appreciate people that have a taste for cars. food looks great cheers
Thinking about trying some wagyu after this! Is that a ponzu sauce? I see the pickled onion, are the green onions pickled too?
Was this Japanese Waygu from Japan or American Waygu? I raise American Waygu and sell to Costco. Most chef customers I talk to like it cooked just a little more to render the fat a tad more.
What is that sauce you poured on top? Ponzu? Also did you soak the white onions in vinegar or water?
Japan Costco has Waygu meat and I am just happy if I can find a decent brisket in mine. Love the park cooking with the park grill and charcoal. Only thing that could have made that more classic would be to put aluminum foil on the grates instead of the wire rack.
We got wagyu in md
lol not done watching but love the fact your using a old park grill for this.
At 7:20 seconds, what kind of sauce did you put? Could you please let me know? Or anyone know? The steak looked amazing! I want it!!
Hero lots of love (lol) u always maka me hungry 🍎 🌆 🥋 🙋♂️ your vids wit Guga ! World wide ! Please do more vids ! 🐉 🇮🇨
Good afternoon!
I came here to look for the fresh chopped onion salad recipe. Also, what is that bottle of soy sauce that made the whole salad, and steak, much more delicious?
Hi. What type of the knife you use in this video??
Big fan! Can I ask which Costco is this and what sauce is used?
wish our costcos here in California all had that Wagyu not all the stores carry the same
What was put on the steaks? And were the onions only soaked in water?
Hiro with the park bbq doin damage
How do we find all the ingredients obviously I know you soak the onions, but what is the green vegetable and is it so sauce?
Why does chef hiro soak the onions in water beforehand? Is it to take the sharpness out of the onion?
Amazing video! Nice meeting you Chef Hiro!
That Z though 😍, oh and gotta try Costco wagyu
why did chef leave a small strip of silverskin on the top corner of both steaks during trimming?
@ 3:59 Those aren't just regular yellow onions. Those are Vidalias. The signature super thin skin is the dead giveaway.
Ummm he cut it pretty thin.
That's not the prepackaged A5 Wagyu I'm use to buying from my local Costco's in SoCal. I've bought it about a dozen times, and it looks nothing like that. Consider yourself lucky to get thick cuts like that, because the thickness I'm use to is around 3/4 inches, if that.
If my Costco had it.... I would buy it
Nice Video. I was able to find A5 Wagyu two times at the Costco in my area and purchase it both times. I would probably leave it on the grill about 2-3 minutes longer though...But every one has their own preference.
Definitely would have left the New York on longer. It looked raw in the middle…
both were very raw, the thing with wagyu is that cooking it over direct fire causes it to flare up and it burns the steaks too fast on the outside and the middle remains raw, is why its best to cook those types of meats with the reverse sear method
I usually love my steaks rare, to even blue rare. However, with A5 wagyu, I tend to like my steaks medium rare, to even medium to give the fat more time to render out. When its too rare, feels like you're just eating blubber.
What stuff you pour from the bottle on the steaks? Soy sauce?
3:22 those guys looking at you thought you were gonna clear your mag on them.
I like both.
Cost as much as my monthly worth of meat...just saw a nissan see the other day. Those cars are a beauty in person.
It doesn't happen often but hop on that! The meat department messed up and priced it wrong! That's crazy!
What is that sauce he puts on top on the steak?
Love how he’s slicing it like fish 🤣
Does anyone know what kind of sauce they poured over the steak? I was kind of surprised that they used it on such an expensive cut of meat.
Amazing video chef! Like it 🦇
good trigger discipline on the Su-v gun.
Every steak youtube channel ever: If you've never had Wagyu you've got to try it!
Me: Maybe whenever Wagyu doesn't cost more than my phone, gas, sewer, and water bills combined.
60 bucks a pound? A fancy steak restaurant will charge you that when you can make something 10x better for the same price dude...
Peeps, what sauce was placed after grilling the steaks? Thanks
Yooo what is the song you played while chef prepared the meal?
Good video guys nice job cranky that into a Z
I GUARANTEE you that I'm not the only person whose mouth literally started to water when you started your taste test............🤯
I wonder more whether the Nissan Z in automatic transmission was worth it over a manual.
Very Cool! ... 😊
im envious of the 400z as well
I wonder what sauce the chef poured on the steaks??? Was it ponzu???
