I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Bunsen Peak hike, since I’m from flat Illinois. Got super windy on the way down. We went in late Sept, so added benefit of NO bugs!

Such a great trip report. Thank you. We did these as two hikes at different times with our children. They loved it and asked to go back. The waterfall is beautiful and my favorite at the park. We did the them in the fall (Oct). Had to subscribe when I saw what else you have done reports on.

I love the north side of Yellowstone! It’s typically less crowded than the rest of the park, and the wildlife is second to none. I thought Bunsen Peak was an amazing mountain. However, I’ve never seen so many bears on one mountain in my entire life. I saw numerous black bears and several grizzly bears on the trail to the summit of Bunsen Peak. Bunsen Peak is an awesome mountain with beautiful views, and is well worth the effort to hike up to the summit. However, here’s a word to the wise. Definitely take your bear spray with you if you’re hiking up that mountain!

Just discovered your videos while planning a Yellowstone trip. Great stuff. You should make some playlists by park or region- that would be super helpful!

Great video...thank you. We are going to Yellowstone this September and I'm interested in the Osprey Falls hike. I know it gets strenuous but you mention "fear of heights". Is that because you are just looking far down or are you precariously close to falling off the edge? My wife does get a little nervous if the open edge is too close. I'd hate to hike all the way to that point and have to turn back.

4score1957 the switchbacks are on a steep slope. It’s not like a ledge on a cliff, but it’s a bit unnerving for someone with a fear of heights.

What time did you start the hike? How long did it take? It looks like you were really cutting it close for daylight at the end. Lots of great wildlife on that loop!

I started it at something like 2pm. It was toasty. I did push it. On the way out, a guy was heading down to Osprey Falls. Yikes!

Wow, Just awesome! I ran across your videos this morning and you have enabled me to see the Yellowstone trails from the comfort of my home - and remember how much I missed being able to make it out there last year. Just the incentive I needed to get me back "home" this year. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Ha! I'm so glad you love them. There are plenty on Yellowstone and Grand Tetons are being trickled out now! (BTW, shipped out the map this morning.)
