Vw inverted oil filters are the best! My petrol fabia vrs is the same, no undertray in the way but with reuseable sump plug. These cars are brilliant to service at home, so easy! Another great video mate
Just suck the oil out with an extraction pump especially since the filter is not underneath. Works great on that engine. Even less hassle. No tray to come off and no crawling around underneath or replacing the sump plug.
So my cars on longlife servicing meaning every 2 years, however i think 2 years on oil is a long time, i did this oil change more so i know the car has clean oil in it for next year, it can then go to seat and be done by them when its actually due 😁
HouseOfMods I do the same as on my Leon, however if yours is leased why bother to do an interim oil change if it doesn't belong to you? Unless your planning on keeping for lots of years/miles of course.
I cant say i did, when i did my service i think the car was on 3000 miles so brand new still, may be worth getting that residue looked into as could get worse! 👍
I've got a 1.2 TSI with 270.000kms (on LPG, liquid via the petrol injectors), and best experiences with Castrol Edge 5W40, shearing seems to be the biggest issue why these engines can burn some oil! (And I don't have it with Castrol, I've had issues with other 5W40 engines)
Always good to add a bit of grit off your driveway to the new oil filter cartridge before putting it in with new oil.

Thank you matey! Yeah one of my favourite cars to service by far 😂
Really helpful video. Thanks mate
I wish the engine cover on my Mk2 Leon was that easy to remove 😅

My 2020 cupra leon recomendation is 0w30 vw50400 is it problem if is 5w30 or i can use 0w30 ?
Is it the same process on 2020 Cupra Formentor Vz2 ?
I put helix shell 5W-30 DIESEL by accident is this going to cause major problems ? Thanks.
I would change it as soon as possible however it wont cause any long lasting effects if left
How will you get around the service stamp? I’m sure lease companies require main dealers service history?

Just for peace of mind, i like to know the car is going to be reliable during my ownership and it doesnt cost much at all
HouseOfMods cool! Mine is a tdi, much harder to reach the oil filter🤦🏻♂️ Great Channel btw 👍🏼
@@lanehogger1532 thanks buddy, its not too difficult if you have a good extension and a 32mm socket you will be fine!
Just had my first ever oil change, did you have any residue under the gearbox? Looked brown/black is this normal?
I cant say i did, when i did my service i think the car was on 3000 miles so brand new still, may be worth getting that residue looked into as could get worse! 👍
Are you running ppf delete and decat with stock resonator and backbox?
Yeah thats the exact setup!
Can I add oil if it needs more oil? Rather than changing
If it needs topping up yes, but always change the oil yearly to keep the engine healthy!
Why have I got the feeling that the old engine oil probably ended up down the nearest storm drain.
It didnt i can assure you
Thank God. I saw the overflowing improvised container and thought the worst. 👍
Went in the drainer at work the next day 👍🏻😁
Do you still own the car? Do it burn oil?
Car is sold and yes it did burn oil, it is normal for these engines to use some oil
Which oil are you using?
5w40 semi synthetic longlife oil from VW
@@houseofmods Is this recommended by VW? In other countries you must use 0w30 or 5w30 only. Thanks
Yeah here its whats reccomended to use, not sure why its different!
@@houseofmods Interesting...

160 miles range, with more than half a tank left? clearly your not driving it properly 😀😀
shit I get 35miles to a tenner that's on the mot lol
It says 25 (NOT 2.5) + 5 which means 25 NM + 5 degree. Please stop making those videos before you destroys someone elses car as well.
