I've told this story before: When I was in graduate school, a few years before 9/11 (no passports required), I drove charter motor coach in Ohio to help pay the bills (even students have to eat). On one of my training rides, it was just me and the trainer who drove from Columbus, Ohio to Windsor, ON (Canada). Since Windsor had casinos, we had a lot of trips through the Detroit/Windsor crossing. So we crossed the Ambassador bridge into Canada, and they asked the two questions: did you stop at the duty free shop? Do you have any firearms on board? Of course no. We spun around to one of the boarder casinos, drove through the parking lot, then headed back over the bridge back into Detroit, MI. The *U.S.* border agent was board out of his gourd! There were only 3 of 8 crossing gates open. He stepped onto my coach and he shot the sh*t with the two of us for 45 minutes, while I, sitting in the driver's seat, on the log clock, watched in my mirrors all of the U.S. bound traffic back up all the way over the top of the bridge. He finally released us when he realized it was time for his lunch break. Just remember, when crossing any international border, the agents are gods! (Fun fact, Windsor, ON is south of Detroit, MI.)
Casey as a driver who has been to Canada many times, you hit the nail on the head . It's Bob's discretion at the gate . If he has a bad night or chitty lunch . 😮😮 He can make it hell to go on .😊
Many years ago i was bringing in a laod of furniture into the US from Canada to a freight forwarder. I had 6 different bills of lading since it was being delivered to six different places. The agent took 1 item from each bill and said he wanted to see them individually to see a Made In Canada stamp on each. I explained to the officer that it took 4 guys about 4 hours to load the trailer and I would be awhile. It was about 85' outsde and pretty 100' inside the trailer. Some of the pieces where massive and heavy. Buy lunch time I had found two of thethem and he said he would be back after lunch. A other officer came up to me and asked me how I was doing and I told i had found 2 pieces. He said lets see them and I opened the boxes up and showed him and he said get out of her before the other officer came back. This was my first load to the US and never had a problem for 40 years after that.

Customs and International Borders can get tricky. Canada is full of beautiful places, friendly people, and Gooses. Some of the gooses are employed by their border patrol.
Funny story… I have traveled all over the world to 30+ countries for both work and vacations and the only country that I ever had an issue entering was Cananda. I was traveling for work and I made the mistake of telling the boarder agent in Toronto that I was going to “teach” a class instead of just “attending” a meeting… Four hours later, after waiting in the immigration line from hell, I was able to discuss the issue with another agent who was able to look up in the massive NAFTA book what classification of work I was performing, I was granted a one-year work visa stapled into my passport and was allowed to enter the country. I did have a minor issue leaving China once but that was because the China Travel Service forgot to account for a layover in Shanghai on my return trip from Hong Kong to the States. But that just meant that I had to be escorted from my arrival gate to my departure gate by the officials.
Thank you for sharing your experience. People need not jump to conclusions. I am glad they will get to Canada. Thank you for at least trying. Great video!😊
Some canuk needs to make sure the marshmallow head that made this PR nightmare for the tourist department of British Columbia and great Canada sees this.. And then is never allowed to forget it. Heck, make it a training point. NO one is happy but that boarder guard. Good job Canada, good Job.....
Oh this is intentional by Canadian bureaucrats. They want you to know they're just as "real" of a country as the USA despite having fewer people than California.
So happy it’s all working out. So sorry for our ridiculous government. Hope you’re still coming to visit once they arrive. Oh, and our government also banned bendy straws…. Cheers
I've only seen a couple dozen or so of Casey's videos, but I can certainly tell he's a decent honest guy. He did nothing wrong. Power tripping border guard likely just has a small member.
I had a crankshaft break in Winnamuca in 1973 and had to wait at the truck stop west of town for a week waiting for a new motor. one of the biggest cause of tire blowout is under inflation which really builds heat because of the tire flexing. Border crossings were always a pain.
Thanks for the tip! Just signed my Passport. (I'm 72, and just got my first passport last year, for an Alaskan cruise, stopping at Victoria BC - never got off the boat there though - very short stop.)
Just goes to prove that there are unhappy bureaucrats in all countries and sense they are unhappy they want to do everything in their power, which they have way too much of, to make other people unhappy. Sorry for the troubles you had and were not able to deliver the Not- A - Wheelchair chairs yourself but hopefully the people who were to get them do finally get to use and enjoy they. Cool that electric skate board saves some were and tear on the shoe leather and the legs it looks like. Neat Idea.
I am at a loss to understand why Canada gives so much power to their border agents after telling you what you need to have it all in order and then telling you that you're on your own if an agent makes an arbitrary decision when you get there. That just doesn't make any sense to me.
I came back from Canada through Eastport (north of Couer d'Alene) and got a US officer on a power trip. Most places, it's a few questions and "have a nice day". This jerk was giving everyone a colonoscopy. Slowest crossing ever.
Definitely not strictly a Canada thing, nor a border security thing... too many service jobs / roles enable unnecessary and harmful discretion at the service member level.
Casey, after the first video where you explained all of this, I went and looked at the wife's and mine. They too were not signed. Yes you did explain this well the first time too. I drove into Canada as a CDL driver for years. These border agents can be, *&%$'s. I had to appeal several action. And I won believe it or not. Thanks for telling Us about the signed pass port. Did not know it was to be signed. Been across the border once with it that way too. LOL.
I go to Canada once a month for the past 20 plus years I can totally see how this could happen with border agents. They live a very dismal life and have a tiny bit of authority to intentionally make peoples lives miserable like theirs
Thank you for such a clear and complete explanation of the Rigs to Canada Expedition! Thank you for helping with the whole attempt and your follow-through! In 1976 I while in California with my New York driver's license, carrying my passport along with military ID. I got denied entry into a nightclub! Back then NY didn't have your picture on the dl. It was just a small heavyweight paper. The large sign above the nightclub listed acceptable IDs and my proofs weren't listed! It was such a stupid power trip that I just left, laughing.
So good to see you are finally getting the chairs up to Canadania. It is also impressive to see the Speculative expertise of the Armchair Canadian Border and Customs Agents in action. ;-)
While talking to them about what is needed in order to get them into Canada. I would have told them "Why tell me what is needed in order to cross the boarder if a boarder agent can pull any reason they want out of his rear end" That's the clean version though as this is posted in youtube comments. But I would have worded it far more harsh what are they doing to do arrest me for hurting their feelings. lol I flat out hate when a company or entity has a set of guidelines/rules they claim to have. But they don't use them and just allows their people to do what they want for the most part.
Just for the hell of it I would go together as a passenger... You worked so hard for the equipment to be delivered to a good cause ( and take Grumpy with you 😄😄😄😄 ) Bless you man, hope they were more like you in the world... it would for sure be a far more better place....
I drove into Canada with a bulk tanker once a week sometimes twice a week for about 12 years. I had a fast card which was issued by the United States and Canada jointly. Fast means free and secure trade. You never know what the Canadian Porter agent is gonna do. Maybe having a bad day and you pay for it anyways I’m retired. Keep the videos coming They’re always interesting

I repeat what I said. You got the full Australian Customs experience. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. Anyone trying to blame you has clearly never travelled overseas with more than a backpack.
I would suggest, the Border agents saying it is down to the "discretion" of the agent at that time translates as "He was wrong and we don't want to lose face"!

Sadly, we cannot fix people who assume the government is right and private effort needs colonoscopy-level scrutiny. Come on, man, honest people know the government is usually wrong. It’s the government that is badly in need of scrutiny and redirection. Great channel. Peace.

Fun fact--that stretch of I80 from Wendover to Stansbury Point (Toole), about 99 miles, has exactly 1 fire station and no ambulances, so drive carefully. The one fire station belongs to the air force bombing range somewhere away from the freeway and will only go to car fires if they are not busy with air force stuff.

But that just meant that I had to be escorted from my arrival gate to my departure gate by the officials.
All i can think of is that line from super troopers 2 "and i thought canadians were nice" 😅
Thank you for sharing your experience. People need not jump to conclusions. I am glad they will get to Canada. Thank you for at least trying. Great video!😊
🙏😁 Most Excellent outcome. Thanks Casey, love to the family ❤
That Was So AWESOME What You & Everyone else Did For Them People, GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!!!!!!
You're just too cool for Canada!
Neat Idea.
I remember Winnemucca. Had a driver sell the tires and wheels off one of our trucks there. We drove after dark to save on tire heat.
What an awful mess to have to wrangle your way thru to simply accomplish a good and kind deed.
Glad it is all going to work out. Kudos to all making it happen.
🙏 so glad those chairs are gonna make it sooner then layer, byly now I'm betting they're a lot closer if not there now. Awesome. Good people's man 🤙
I am at a loss to understand why Canada gives so much power to their border agents after telling you what you need to have it all in order and then telling you that you're on your own if an agent makes an arbitrary decision when you get there. That just doesn't make any sense to me.
To be fair - its the same situation for Canadians trying to enter the USA. You get a powertripping guard, you get a powertripping guard.
@@tyleryardley845 can you point out what he didn't have in order?
What did they do to the trucks a while back
Casey I am glad you guys figured out a way to get those to Canada is the most important thing
It is also impressive to see the Speculative expertise of the Armchair Canadian Border and Customs Agents in action. ;-)
I definitely think there is some truth to the rumor that Trudeau sleeps in a "I hate Casey LaDelle" t-shirt.
As a patreon contributor, I've been looking forward for this video. 👍
Incredible story of what you've been through.
Love your explanations
While talking to them about what is needed in order to get them into Canada. I would have told them "Why tell me what is needed in order to cross the boarder if a boarder agent can pull any reason they want out of his rear end" That's the clean version though as this is posted in youtube comments. But I would have worded it far more harsh what are they doing to do arrest me for hurting their feelings. lol I flat out hate when a company or entity has a set of guidelines/rules they claim to have. But they don't use them and just allows their people to do what they want for the most part.
Sad that plan got interrupted. Glad you found support for your plan. 👍
Keep the videos coming
They’re always interesting
Always a way to work around the issues, some times ya just gotta climb over the problem. Let the crap fall from higher up on his side... Calm & Calculated, lol! Thanx !
We may have just missed each other in Winnemucca. If you're ever there again, try eating at The Pig. I always go there when I park at that Flying J. It's only a block or two down by Ridley's
14 hrs a day in a log truck, sometimes I wish we knew what log books were.
14 hour days are legal depending on how much of it is drive time.
@@chiphazzard8173 be careful with that, the hours of service regulations still apply to local trucks and the fmcsa can absolutely audit your hours and fine you for those violations
I too was detain at the Canada border for 4hrs because i used my personal daily driver dually Ram pickup to make a service call to a customer in Canada. They refused to believe the dually was my personal vehicle & not a commercial rig. A HOLES.
You are amazing. Thank you
I repeat what I said.
I've had problems @ the boarder also simply put some Canadians are Huge Tools but for the most part they are some of the Coolest people 😎
You’re a great man Casey
Hey Casey I unfortunately was born in WE THE NORTH and I think you are a ROCK STAR keep up great work.
Wow, so many judgemental people. I couldn't deal with them with the grace that you exhibit on camera.
Try living in Point Roberts and having to deal with Canadian Boarder Agents on a daily comminuting basis. Even if you have Nexus status they can take it away for the smallest of reasons. OH CANADA so full of......
Shame Canukistan pissed on your parade with the mobility chairs, it's awesome they'll get there eventually.
I always loved doing repairs in truckstop parking lots in hot weather, especially tires.
I remember years ago all we needed is your driver’s license. Sorry you’re having a bad time, good luck if you go again. 👍🏼😁
I hope you appealing the ban into Canada and set the record straight.
That could catch up with you in another situation and should be resolved. 🙏🏻❤️🗽🇺🇸
Driving into Canada can be a pain for Canadians too. I got grilled for a few minutes when I was crossing coming back from my NEXUS interview that took place in the border crossing building.
I never had a doubt that you would figure out a way to get them up to Canada! Sorry that I missed you when you stopped in Hines, Oregon to get fuel. ;-)~ Yes, that is Hines, not Burns where you get fuel. I'll keep bugging you until I hear you give Hines the kudos on your videos... LOL. Great job, once again Casey! Can't wait to see you give that Lazy Bruce Cook a piece of your mind in person... I HATE Casey LaDelle!
I think there is a song about Canada that’s very fitting for this situation.
Thanks for the explanation about the blown tires
I live is South Carolina and in my area I’ve notice a lot a blown tires / retreads on he roads and shoulders. It’s also been very hot here. I wondered if the heat had something to do with it and of course speed.
You are just a rebel. :D Great work. Keep up the great work you do.
Sadly, we cannot fix people who assume the government is right and private effort needs colonoscopy-level scrutiny. Come on, man, honest people know the government is usually wrong. It’s the government that is badly in need of scrutiny and redirection.
Great channel. Peace.
Casey, an honorable person in every metric!
What? I'm born and bread in Canada 🇨🇦 it's fine what you did and were trying to do ! On behalf of the good citizens, thank you for trying 🙏. The boarder gards are a crap shoot . Your welcome here on Canada I'll hide you 😂😅
I commend you on your patience dealing with the Canadian border agents!!! I would have been so P Oed!!! Glad to hear that you and Zack got it figured out. Suggestion for a compromise... you each pay half of t.he fees and shipping. 😁
Bruce is special.person like you.
Watch his few videos when he was testing his wifes 1st rigs, i was very impressed.
As for as the birder agents, Lord could we borrow a few for our southern borders.
12000 firefighters in OR and WA. Crews from Australia and New Zealand have arrived. Currently 55 wildfires in OR.
There are 28. 3 of those have been contained.inciweb.wildfire.gov/
I have no desire to go into Canada anymore. Casey now has his picture at every border crossing. “If you see this man call, and detain”
Good luck! You make a good job.
I’ve been watching Casey for a long while and I can tell you he’s not the guy that doesn’t do his homework people write video brother God bless you and your family
I hope notawheelchair got a ton of advertising out of this! Please link their video when they show the finished facility! 😎👍
I like Wendover. I've found a few nice dispersed camping areas there, and I've ridden a bunch of their off-road trails in my SxS. And Canada can get bent.
Casey, it isn't about if you can ever get back into Canada. It's about if you can get out! Take care
I would like to apologize for the idiots you got stuck with at our border crossing. We’re not all that bad. You’re welcome at my place just north of Toronto in Ontario any time!!! 🇨🇦
Thanks
