thanks for these uploads man. Richman's performances on Conan are probably better representation of everything good about him than most of his studio albums! Heavenly stuff.
You are quite welcome, Alex. I would have to agree with your observation, since he is far more engaging live, than many of his recordings are. Maybe there should be a lengthy live compilation released [and pardon my shot at humor here.... perhaps calling it "There's Something About Jonathan"]. Happy to see that you enjoy the clips, and thank you for saying so.
+What's for afters? "There's Something About Jonathan" is the title of a biography about him. He really loved that woman he married. Had to pursue her a long time. But he wrote all these beautiful songs about her. They had at least one child, but sadly, they are no longer together, and Jonathan's music has taken a decidedly dark turn since they divorced. I'll have to read that book again. Jonathan declined to be interviewed for it, but the author got a lot of information from his associates and former band mates. Thanks for a GREAT upload from Jonathan's cheerful years! His live versions are always the best!
Ben Culture, thanks a lot for that info on the biography. I'll have to track it down and check it out. Had no idea that their relationship had come to an end, and tis a pity that his worldview has taken this turn you described. Most happy to hear that you've enjoyed the clips, and took the time to say so! Cheers :)
What's for afters? Is there any way that you can upload the parts when he gets interviewed by Conan?? I’ve been looking for his something about marry interview
Wishing you (JR), or whomever's ailing (bandmate, crew, fam-member) a speedy, thorough recovery & a Blessed Solstice! Hope to see you in S.F. soon, whenever everybody's better & the show has been rescheduled. Sharon in Oakland
Just watching him perform makes me smile 😊
absolutely wonderful ❤️
