Have to let you guys know, although I only found your podcast a few weeks ago, but have gone back to watch ones I missed, I am really enjoying your podcast. Enjoy seeing your projects, the product reviews and recommendations. You guys are informative and fun. Thanks for this, helping me stay sane.... well sort of sane.
It is three am here in the UK and I cannot sleep despite having sleeping tablets. I am skimming through the podcasts and you gentlemen appear with a new podcast. Pure joy. I have watched you since the first episode and I feel you are really getting into your stride. I learn things but you both also make me laugh. Thank you both,
Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching from the beginning. Your support is amazing and we are so glad we could bring a smile to your face. 🥰🥰
😜 I was in an EMT class when the instructor spelled out sphygmomanometer on the board, and pointed at it and said how do you pronounce this...I raised my hand and said “blood pressure cuff”........he did not see the humor.
I signed up for the Lolodidit Downton Abby subscription!! I can't wait :-) I listen to audiobooks all the time! In the morning as I get ready for work, on my way to work in the car, while I'm cooking dinner, doing the dishes, cleaning...my favorite--while I'm gardening!!
Hahahahaha, Kevin's face when Ray told him to swatch for his new sweater. Same face I make when I realize I have to swatch for anything. I was looking forward to this new episode since I got caught up with your previous ones! I love your crochet shawl, Ray! The Wonderland socks turned out beautiful, Kevin!
Your podcast sustains me as I work (I get to telecommute a few days a week) and when I knit. Love your shenanigans and rapport. Thanks for another great episode.
Hi Kevin and Ray. Thank you so much for another podcasts. Please keep 'em coming. You have a fan in Maine. Ironically, I was thrilled to see that you are making some drawstring bags, Kevin. So am I since I have bought a few and am not happy with them. Plus it gives me another project besides knitting. I did come across a great video on youtube called "Melly Sews" and she has one called "Learn to Sew a Drawstring Bag." I am working on several using her tips, etc. and am pleased with the results and I have figured out a way to also line them.Bags I have bought through Etsy are very overpriced for what they are. My sewing machine is only a Brother economy model but I am dealing with it. Watch her video is you have a chance. Stay well, my friends and bye till next time. Carol.PS: Try your local library for audiobooks. You can actually get these via the library to your computer.
Love your pattern recommendations, the Ross hat was a major hit with the hubby knitted it in Rowan cashmere tweed. Love hearing what patterns men like to wear vs. us women trying to figure out what works.
So glad your Petals to Picots shawl is working out. It’s looking great! I love how both of your Boneyard shawls are coming along. It was so nice to see you guys again!
Kevin and Ray you guys are amazing; enjoy your podcast very much; keep them coming. I found you, at random, on UA-cam, while being off work for covid; binge watched every episode. My job is at a dental lab; and I am on furlough until dentists start seeing patients again. I find you guys very real , inspiring and entertaining; your appreciation for each other is obvious and wonderful. Ray, two of my nieces are nurses and i commend you all for your continued dedication and service, during this rough time. Wishing you both sustained health and safety; looking forward to the next episode,
Ray, I started that shawl after your last podcast and once I started I figured that’s where you were getting off. It can be confusing with crochet. When your chains count as a stitch you don’t start in the same stitch. But if it doesn’t then you do begin in the same stitch. But I love the pattern. And you’re doing a fabulous job! I’m a seamstress as well and Kevin, you did a great job on your bags! You’ll get better each time you make them. You guy’s podcast is my favorite one. I look forward to them each week. You guys make a great team! 💗
Both of your shawls are looking great. Love that project bag Ray.. that should definitely be your take your knitting to work bag. It is interesting to be watching these podcasts now when you are talking about the beginning of the pandemic. Who would have though we would still be here two years later? I am a long term care nurse and those early days were challenging.
Hi Tyanne! So crazy that we are starting year 3 of this, who would have thought. Thank you for all that you do, it has not been an easy time for healthcare workers.
Great podcast! This was the best way to spend my Mother’s Day! It is quite cold and dreary here in Wisconsin today, but I was all cozied down with my knitting and watching you guys! Love all your socks. I am currently knitting my 50th pair! Thanks and stay safe!
Great job on the bags Kevin!! New set up worked very well. If you hold the product up closer to the camera it was focusing in on it pretty well. Also, a lot of yarn dyers and bag makers want to send you products so you can show them on your podcast and review them. This gets their companies advertising. This is a good thing for everyone!!
Another great podcast! Such a welcome distraction from all the harsh realities. Audiobooks are also a fantastic entertainment. You will be blown away by the talent of the narrators. I especially love it when they use accents where appropriate ( Russian when the character is from Russia for example) or when the book is read by the author. Pretty cool. See if your library uses Libby. It will allow you to access thousands of free audio and regular books. You did a great job on your Flax sweater, Kevin. I may be knitting that next or the TFA City limits and join in on your MAL. I am happy to hear that things are starting to quiet down at your hospital, Ray. My daughter-in-law is a P.A.working in the ICU at Duke University Hospital. I don’t know how you all do it but I thank you so much. Stay safe.
Great episode, thanks for all you do! Ray stick a stitch marker into your last stitch when you crochet, no pull out when you pull it out of your project bag!
I have made several pairs of rose city rollers and wear them all the time! thanks for your podcast, it is perfect to knit or crochet along to! I Love from the UK xxx
Thank Ray And Kevin for another great episode. The two of you are so kind and proud of each other’s accomplishments it warms my heart. I also think the two of you are very overwhelmed with the generosity of this beautiful community we call the fibre world. By proud of yourselves and just learn to say yes to this beautiful community you belong too. Stay safe and healthy until next time Nicole.
Thank you Nicole, you are so right. It has been a bit overwhelming...this community is just beyond words. We are so glad you came by to hang out with us and really appreciate your comments. Stay safe 🥰🥰
Another great episode!! I love listening to audiobooks while I knit! My library lets me check out audiobooks using the Overdrive app. All you need is a library card.
Yes! A library card gives you free access to a lot of free resources!!! Overdrive being one of them with lots of audio and ebooks to choose from. Ok, stepping down from my soapbox 🤓
I’ve been crocheting since I was 12 and now I’m 50. I’m just learning to knit. I stumbled on your podcast and love you guys! I bought some yarn to knit my husband some socks, but I think I need more practice first. Love the patterns you have been showing.
I know this is an older episode, but I'm bingeing and catching up. We always say "happy mail" for our goodies. Hope you're all doing well! Love the podcasts!!!
it sounds like you need a yarn guide, which has helped me on the crease that the yarn creates on my finger when i crochet. Eventually i will be learning how to knit in the future.
I am loving that Boneyard Shawl! I have never tried a Stephen West pattern but I might have to. I’ve seen a few of his designs now and they’ve all been really great. I also love your Harry Potter bags .... I always wish I could sew so I could make cool stuff like that. Awesome job!
when I started knitting, I wasn't reading as much as I needed...I started listening to more podcasts and that shifted to audiobooks. I love audiobooks and knitting! Perfect pairing! I do Audible.com, but you should also check your local library. My husband gets most of his audiobooks through an app through our library.
Love watching you two. Your fast becoming stars in the knitting video world and rightly so. Love the way you go off track and discuss other things, just like you would when having natural conversations with good friends and I think your both naturals at it. Audible and knitting go together perfectly, in my opinion anyway. Love you both, Kathy in UK. Xxx
Hi guys. Ray mentioned cramped hands while crocheting. I will tension my yarn using the Portuguese pin and hold the yarn in the other hand. it works for me. I enjoy your podcasts
Thank you for that..I might just give that a try. I had no problems today so I wonder if the weather had something to do with it. Thanks for your comment and so glad you are enjoying the podcast 😊😊
Hi guys, I have been really been enjoying your podcasts. For newbies, you are doing fabulous. I watched all your podcasts, now I'm all caught up. I loved DowntonAbbey.
Ray, your second sock reminds me of a watercolor version of your first sock! They both look great! I still need to try my hand at sock knitting! Also, I placed my first Lolodidit order yesterday! I kept seeing them on the podcast so i signed up for emails! 😆
Hi Julie!! Hope you love your Lolodidit yarn, we love her yarn. You should totally give sock knitting a try, even if you don't enjoy it at least you know.
I'm all caught up now :) I love your show, it's so fun to knit to. And except for the shininess of your faces, the new set up works well. The shininess kept put that REM song in my head, Shiny Happy People. lol I can't wait to see how your Nomadic Yarns knit up. I'm a brand new sock knitter (finishing up my first pair). I want to get to the place where I can buy those color ways for socks, and not worry that they wont turn out well. And I love Downton Abby, but haven't seen the movie yet either. I'm reading a book about sweater design, and am thinking of rewatching the series to get inspiration to design sweaters from it. (If I can wrap my brain around the design process.)
Enjoyed watching your podcasts. Your crocheted and knitted articles are very nice the socks, and shawls. That yarn will make some nice articles. Take care from Canada😀
Another great podcast. Love the yarn you got. I loved Downton Abbey and binge watched it. So disappointed that Lolodidit is in the U.S as I would have loved that club. Audio books are brilliant. I listen when I am walking the dog but I also read hard copy books . Have a good couple of weeks.
Love the podcast guys! If you've never tried it, I'm a big fan of the Overdrive app. It's free and you just borrow e-books, audio books, magazines, and movies from your library. I listen to all of my audio books that way. It's also convenient because it downloads the book to your phone so you don't have to rely on an Internet/WiFi connection. Happy stitching!
your podcast just makes my day, don't worry about a thumbs down, someone made a mistake or is an idiot! audio was good, love the pattern on the socks, Kevin, i love when you click into the rhythm of a sock pattern and can just knit and your bags turned out so well!! and that gift for Ray was amazing, you are the best!! Ray i love the colors of your rollers and i am about to cast on a pair myself, i never thought i'd listen to audiobooks, but they are great while knitting, you just need to train your ears to listen- i loved listening to the books of Jane Harper, which are set in Australia and narrated by someone from Australia, it like being in the story, audobooks are great for setting the atmosphere of a book. hope you boys have a good couple weeks and stay safe, Ray, love you boys!! ♥♥♥
I tried to stay silent whilst watching as hubby was sleeping already, but could not keep giggles in when you started to talk about colors :D I fully understand and had to google chartreuse. Thanks for the great podcast, looking forward to see you again soon! Cheers from Finland!
Great episode. Kevin your sweater is going to be beautiful in that blue and gray. Ray your shawl is coming along great. I need to get that adapter if it will work with my winder. I really enjoy your podcasts because you are not sarcastic or snarky to each other. It’s refreshing. Thanks
Another great podcast guys. I was cracking up when you were talking about me and my knitting. Especially since I had just told Brett that I don’t know if I’ll have anything completed for the next podcast. Lips and audio were synced up😊
Another great podcast. I am now looking for to your podcast, and excited to see it posted during this Stay at Home time. The new video set up is awesome, you both look great! Stay healthy and safe.PS - Kevin awesome bags!
So the whole memorizing thing - yep. Plus it's good for your brain. But when you get to complicated colorways or lace knitting - two words: Knit Companion. It will change your life forever!!!! Love you two!
Sorry, I’m binge watching y’all and the slip and slide portion was hilarious. My husband, 3 daughters and I (yes we are all adults now) loves our Slip & Bleed. We have sooooo much fun, but BOY are we beaten up and sore by the time we have had enough. 🤣🤕😂
I'm a watcher too!😊 It takes me a bit to speak to people in new situations. I can come off as standoffish, but I'm not trying to be. I just want to learn how to interact with them before I inadvertently make a jerk of myself🤣 I love the Trilogy Yarns color Siren Song you showed. Blue with greens and browns (at least that's how it came across on my screen). It reminded me of the globes I saw in the classroom as a kid. I used to love spinning the globe to see the colors blur. And I kinda wanna make a hat with that yarn now. I'm such a nerd. 🤓 Do classroom's still have actual globes? 🤔 And your project bags are super nice! Way to go!!
What a great eye...it totally reminds me of the colors of a globe now! Mind blown 🤯 Haha, Thanks for watching, we really appreciate it and the comment 🥰
37:29 my grandma told me (30+ years ago) to make a spit splice stronger, one not suppose to cut wool, but break with hands and slightly pull fiber a bit more, then both ends are kind of fluffy (fleecy) and they felt together perfectly and almost invisible. I saw her doing it on all her knits.
Great podcast! I found you a couple of weeks ago and look forward to your next ones! Thanks for the recommendation on the drill bit/ball winder thing - can't wait to try it out!
Kevin, I do the Breathe-Rite strips, too. The problem is that every time you peel one off, you are exfoliating the skin beneath, whether it needs it or not. Scrubbing with a washcloth to remove the adhesive remnants makes it worse. Try using alcohol wipes (you can get them at a drug store that sells diabetic supplies) or rubbing alcohol on cotton balls to remove the remnants of adhesive. Then use some cream or lotion that is specifically made for dry skin, just a dot, and rub it in very well -- Eucerin, Nivea, or even unscented baby lotion. You can get some trial/travel sizes to try to see what works best for your skin type. (Ray may be able to pocket a couple of alcohol wipes from work for you to try -- !!)
Your new setup was great! Kevin, those socks are beautiful. Just wondering if you've ever tried using two 24-inch circs for socks? That's my go-to cuz socks are my thing!
You are my favorites schmucks, so enjoyable and you make my day. I started Year One last week, I put Discovery of Witches aside to continue. When you asked Alexa for a random number, my Alexa said 12!!!! Kevin, your bags are great. Does that sound wrong?? Thank you for sharing.
Great podcat once again. Love the socks and goodies you received. I borrow audio books from the library which you can also borrow through their app. I loved Daisy And The Six and Edith Cavell WWI Nurse Fatal Destiny.
I’m a huge Downton Abbey fan! Too bad the Canadian dollar sucks so bad or I’d be all over that! I stumbled across your podcast a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoy it! I think everything is perfect!! I will be looking forward to the next one! I am glad you are staying healthy and thank you Ray for everything all of you frontline workers do. I spent six years living in Tulsa Oklahoma when we first got married and we have many wonderful friends from the States! Stay healthy and keep knitting!!
I just discovered your podcast, and love it! The Reyna shawl was my last shawl I knit before I became a knitter with a "K". Its acrylic, so blocking was out. I really want to knit one out of wool! I love the knit!! Ray, even if Alexa could make coffee, she'd probably refuse to make a cup for you. 😘 Kevin, have you tried using an app through your local library for free audio books? I'm in London, Canada and I use Libby. Decent selection too. Have a great day!
I don’t know what it is with Alexa! I even say thank you after she tells me things (IF she answers 🤷♂️🤣) Thanks for your comment and for watching! I’ll be casting that on at some point soon 🥰 -Ray
I'm a total convert to audio books. I listen to them on my commute to and from work, and when going on long runs. If you have a library card check your local library. Mine offers the Hoopla app and I can check out 8 audiobooks a month.
Needles at the Ready Podcast some libraries offer online registration so check your local library’s web page. By the way, my day job is Director of a large library system in the Southcoast of MA so I’m thrilled to see people mention Overdrive and Hoopla.
No lag here. Good to see you guys! Hey Ray, try running the strawberry shortcake yarn between your index and middle finger and pinching between the two for tension. I found I have less cramping doing that.
Hi guy's thanks so much for the post . Always enjoy your podcasts I'm going to try and knit the flax pattern as it's going to be my first sweater in the round Keep thumbs for me Hopefully I will get it right.Have a lovely week and looking forward to your next podcast . Take care regards to you both
Great podcast guys love all your knitting especially the shawl bone yard great colors I'm going to have to knit one never thought two colors happy knitting Joan upstate New York
Nice to see you guys and glad u r healthy! Related to socks...I know people say s/b negative ease, but I find when it fits me just right, they feel the most comfortable. With negative ease, I think it adds stress to the yarn. I’m curious to see what u think after knitting a few more pairs. Also there a few other heels u might want to try: Umbrella Heel by Kay Jones of the Bakery Bears, and The Sweet Tomato Heel by Cat Bordhi (Cat’s interrupts stripes, but it has a great fit). Feedback re new equipment: audio is just right and as you know, picture is blown out a bit and color tone seems a little off. I thinks it’s just a matter of lighting and fine adjustments that I’m sure you’ll figure out. I appreciate that you don’t edit -just makes you more relatable. I also like the links down below. Stay well and see ya next time🙂
cracking...my Alexa keeps talking to you....first number was 9 rofl love you guys, really enjoy the chatter, the vid/voice thing would be a delay only for you but for us it's perfect. xx
LOL, I didn’t think about it until after the fact!! That used to happen to us all the time and it was so funny! Haha, thanks for watching, so glad you are enjoying it 🥰
Oh my god boys!!! I'm such a fan!! I discovered you a few weeks ago. I've binge watched all your episodes. At first I was like Shut the front door Joey Lawrence has a knitting podcast!!! 😂 Ray you look just like him!!!!! 😍 Sending much love from Montreal Canada 🇨🇦🤗
Laura Neel the author of Sock Architecture used to live in my town and worked with my husband and I never put it together until I started reading this book. It was so funny! 😁. Be sure to check out Simply socks yarn company that she referenced in the book. They are here in Fort Wayne. I love going in their store when they open to public. Awesome sock yarn selection.
Aww!!!! Lara was in my knitting group and I knit a couple of the sample socks in the book😁 Altho it was so long ago I can’t remember which ones I did now😝 GREAT book to have in any knitters library👍 I love audio books bc I can listen and KNIT!!!! If you aren’t sure if you like them try your library first😉 that’s where o started and I’ve had audible now for years! I knit my even star shawl while listening to the Harry Potter books and now whenever I see it I think of HP and it makes my heart happy 💜
Oh how cool! Small world 😊 Can’t believe we’ve never tried audiobooks before. We’re going to our library when it reopens to get our cards...pretty bad we don’t already have them 😳 I’m totally looking forward to Harry Potter read by Stephen Fry 🥰🥰
Morning guys, very enjoyable again. Sound is good, no problem with lip syncing. The colours aren’t as good with your new set up tho’ I wouldn’t worry about accepting gifts from dyers and makers. You are advertising their wares after all. Stay safe xx
I love the gold and cream shawl! I kind of like the old formula of filming... Did I somehow miss how to enter the giveaway? That yarn is beautiful. I look forward to your next podcast. Stay safe and healthy 😊♥️
Thanks so much! Some of the prizes are going to our MAL but we’ll be announcing a giveaway for hitting 2000 subscribers on our next podcast 🤯😳 Stay safe ❤️❤️
Downton Abbey I can't get into. But I am hooked on Call the Midwife. So much so that I make the crocheted baby blanket (a free pattern named after the show) a few times a year.
oh man.... I love Downton Abby also and I've been rewatching the series during quarantine. I just joined lolodidit's club because I think I need a Branson color too :)
I signed up too because I need a color for every character in the show ever (even that scheming bitch Edna). Downton is one of my all-time favorite shows in the world! It's such a great comfort watch too.
OMG you know what it means!! So awesome! My whole family has them. The boys (my dad and two brothers, and me) have them in the same place and my mom has hers on her ankle 🥰🥰
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast thats awesome:) yeah i can read Japanese. Your tattoo might be in chinese but we do write our language similar to chinese so thats why i was able to read it:)
Not sure if you like Agatha christi mysteries but there are free radio theater audio books available online. Instead of a person reading the book, they have several actors speaking the roles with audio affects. Just another option. 😊
I'm here to add my voice to the "audiobooks are awesome" crowd :D I use Audible, but UA-cam is great for older books! I'm into Agatha Christie mysteries these days, and many of them are on here (probably because the publishing rights have expired). Same with Jane Austen, etc. Also, you need to check out the Harry Potter audiobooks read by Stephen Fry, they're the best!!! They were the first audiobook I ever tried, and I've listened to them countless times. Make sure they're read by Stephen Fry though - I think Jim Dale did the American version, but I don't think it's as good as the British one. Fry does so many voices and accents, it's a truly immersive experience! Love the podcast as always, cant wait for the next one :)
You are so pleasant to watch and listen to. The content is interesting and easy to follow. Please continue to not edit. The flow of your company is so natural. Glad I found you.
Thank you Sandra, we really appreciate it.
I am working my way through your podcasts. Love Kevin's DIY project bags and really like friendly relaxed vibes which have me coming back to you.
Aww thank you so much 😊 Glad you are catching up, it means a lot to us 🥰

When you two got started on the sphygmomanometer it made me start singing “Mah Na Mah Na” from the muppets 🤣. Another great podcast thanks so much.
Omg I’ve been singing that all weekend! 😂
😜 I was in an EMT class when the instructor spelled out sphygmomanometer on the board, and pointed at it and said how do you pronounce this...I raised my hand and said “blood pressure cuff”........he did not see the humor.

Thanks for watching! So glad you enjoy 😉 We have confidence in your sock knitting abilities! Start with a shortie and keep it simple 🥰
I know this is an older episode, but I'm bingeing and catching up. We always say "happy mail" for our goodies. Hope you're all doing well! Love the podcasts!!!
Thanks so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
it sounds like you need a yarn guide, which has helped me on the crease that the yarn creates on my finger when i crochet.
Hi Kristilyn - Totally given Stephen West a try, I've only knit on his early patterns but plan on trying some of his newer ones.
when I started knitting, I wasn't reading as much as I needed...I started listening to more podcasts and that shifted to audiobooks. I love audiobooks and knitting! Perfect pairing! I do Audible.com, but you should also check your local library. My husband gets most of his audiobooks through an app through our library.
A lot of people have been suggesting the library for audiobooks. No idea why we didn’t think of that 😁 Thank you and happy knitting 🧶
the blue tiger in the backyard made me LOL...thanks I needed that! so much fun with you guys :)
LOL Thanks! Glad you enjoy and got to hang out with us for a bit 🥰🥰
Xxx
Thank you so much Kathy!
Great work on the bags Kevin👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼...I also totally love Downton Abby...so good. 🥰...!
Thanks so much!
Hi guys, I have been really been enjoying your podcasts. For newbies, you are doing fabulous. I watched all your podcasts, now I'm all caught up. I loved DowntonAbbey.
Thank you so much!
Hi Shea - Thats awesome that you are finishing your first pair.
Enjoyed watching your podcasts. Your crocheted and knitted articles are very nice the socks, and shawls. That yarn will make some nice articles. Take care from Canada😀
Hiya! Thanks so much, so glad you are enjoying them 😁
Another great podcast. Love the yarn you got. I loved Downton Abbey and binge watched it. So disappointed that Lolodidit is in the U.S as I would have loved that club. Audio books are brilliant. I listen when I am walking the dog but I also read hard copy books . Have a good couple of weeks.
Ooh June, what a good idea while walking the dog! I could see that as an excuse to take really really long ones...haha. Till next time 🥰
I just found your podcast after hearing about you from Sweet Tea No Shade. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode and hit “subscribe”. ❤️
Welcome aboard! Thank you so much for checking us out.
Great suggestion! Thank you 😊
your podcast just makes my day, don't worry about a thumbs down, someone made a mistake or is an idiot! audio was good, love the pattern on the socks, Kevin, i love when you click into the rhythm of a sock pattern and can just knit and your bags turned out so well!! and that gift for Ray was amazing, you are the best!! ♥♥♥
Aww Thanks Lynn!! Glad you came by to hang out with us for a bit and that you liked what you saw. We really appreciate the comments and feedback 🥰🥰
I tried to stay silent whilst watching as hubby was sleeping already, but could not keep giggles in when you started to talk about colors :D I fully understand and had to google chartreuse. Thanks for the great podcast, looking forward to see you again soon! Cheers from Finland!
😁
Great episode. Kevin your sweater is going to be beautiful in that blue and gray. Ray your shawl is coming along great. I need to get that adapter if it will work with my winder. I really enjoy your podcasts because you are not sarcastic or snarky to each other. It’s refreshing. Thanks
Hi Vickie - Thank you! That adapter only works for Stanwood ball winders I believe.
Needles at the Ready Podcast yay that’s what I have.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Happy Nurses Week, Ray! I enjoy you 2 so much!
Thank you so much!
Wonderful episode gentlemen! Lovely projects! Loving the Harry Potter House Crest shirt!
Thank you so much 😊
Another great podcast guys. I was cracking up when you were talking about me and my knitting. Especially since I had just told Brett that I don’t know if I’ll have anything completed for the next podcast. Lips and audio were synced up😊
LOL, that means you’ll have about 10 😉🤣
Just imagine all your subs sitting in the room with you! Lovely episode again guys!
Thank you 😊 It’s definitely crazy to think about! So much fun “meeting” everyone though 🥰
Hi Kevin and Ray! Love your projects and podcast
Thank you Karen,
Another great podcast. I am now looking for to your podcast, and excited to see it posted during this Stay at Home time. The new video set up is awesome, you both look great! Stay healthy and safe.PS - Kevin awesome bags!
Thank you Marc.
So the whole memorizing thing - yep. Plus it's good for your brain. But when you get to complicated colorways or lace knitting - two words: Knit Companion. It will change your life forever!!!! Love you two!
Ray uses Knit Companion, I haven't tried it yet.
you guys are funny like laugh out loud funny cant wait to see more
Aww thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it 😊❤️
Sorry, I’m binge watching y’all and the slip and slide portion was hilarious. My husband, 3 daughters and I (yes we are all adults now) loves our Slip & Bleed. We have sooooo much fun, but BOY are we beaten up and sore by the time we have had enough. 🤣🤕😂
OMG yes, slip and slide were rough, if there was a rock underneath that.
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast I know just a bruised and bloodily mess, BUT seriously still so much FUN.
I'm a watcher too!😊 It takes me a bit to speak to people in new situations. I can come off as standoffish, but I'm not trying to be. I just want to learn how to interact with them before I inadvertently make a jerk of myself🤣
I love the Trilogy Yarns color Siren Song you showed. 🤔
And your project bags are super nice!
Hey guys your shawls are fabulous and that Trilogy yarn is amazing
Agreed! The yarn is amazing for sure, and she has so many colors too!
Great podcast! I found you a couple of weeks ago and look forward to your next ones! Thanks for the recommendation on the drill bit/ball winder thing - can't wait to try it out!
So happy you are liking it! We’ve caked up more yarn than we should have since getting it lol 😂
Good advice, thanks!
Your new setup was great! Kevin, those socks are beautiful. Just wondering if you've ever tried using two 24-inch circs for socks? That's my go-to cuz socks are my thing!
Our first try on magic loop was 24”. Definitely workable but we moved to 32” and they seem to be a little better for us. 🤷♂️😊
Wow over 2,000 subscribers woohoo! Congrats!
Yay! Thank you!
Great idea for the drawstring material! I have paracord left over so obviously I need to make a project bag! Thanks for the inspiration....
Aww you’re welcome and thanks for stopping by to hand out with us for a bit 😊
You are my favorites schmucks, so enjoyable and you make my day. I started Year One last week, I put Discovery of Witches aside to continue. When you asked Alexa for a random number, my Alexa said 12!!!! Kevin, your bags are great. Does that sound wrong??
Thank you for sharing.
Hi Candee - Thank you so much for all the kind words, we appreciate it. We hope you like Year One.
Great podcat once again. Love the socks and goodies you received. I borrow audio books from the library which you can also borrow through their app. I loved Daisy And The Six and Edith Cavell WWI Nurse Fatal Destiny.
Oh sounds interesting. We will definitely check out our library. Thank you 😊
Thank you! You’re great! I listen to audiobooks from library apps.
Thanks so much!! The library is one of our first stops!! We totally need to get our library cards lol
You mentioned cat lady-is that a podcast? I can’t find it. Thanks! Love your show.
Hi Velda - The podcast is The Catt Lady Podcast, their should be a link in the description of this video.
Needles at the Ready Podcast thank you!
Thanks Susan! So happy you found us and that you are enjoying it! Happy Knitting 🧶
Yah! Another episode. You guys are hilarious
Aww Thanks so much 🤗🤗
Enjoyed the easy going episode. Hi from the UK
Hi back!! So glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thanks for the Saturday night entertainment!!!!!
🤗❤️
I just discovered your podcast, and love it! The Reyna shawl was my last shawl I knit before I became a knitter with a "K". Its acrylic, so blocking was out. I really want to knit one out of wool! I love the knit!!
Ray, even if Alexa could make coffee, she'd probably refuse to make a cup for you. 😘
Kevin, have you tried using an app through your local library for free audio books? I'm in London, Canada and I use Libby. Decent selection too.
Have a great day!
I don’t know what it is with Alexa! I even say thank you after she tells me things (IF she answers 🤷♂️🤣) Thanks for your comment and for watching! I’ll be casting that on at some point soon 🥰 -Ray
I'm a total convert to audio books. I listen to them on my commute to and from work, and when going on long runs. If you have a library card check your local library. Mine offers the Hoopla app and I can check out 8 audiobooks a month.
So sad but neither of us have a library card 😅😳 We are waiting patiently for the library to reopen ❤️
Ok I’ll try that...lol I love that you are calling the yarn strawberry shortcake...now I want some..haha 😏
Hi guy's thanks so much for the post . Always enjoy your podcasts I'm going to try and knit the flax pattern as it's going to be my first sweater in the round
Keep thumbs for me Hopefully I will get it right.Have a lovely week and looking forward to your next podcast . Take care regards to you both
Hi 👋 Thanks for watching, so glad you are enjoying it! You’re going to love the flax...That’s going to be Ray’s first sweater too!
@@NeedlesattheReadyPodcast thanks so much have a good day and stay safe
Great podcast guys love all your knitting especially the shawl bone yard great colors I'm going to have to knit one never thought two colors happy knitting Joan upstate New York
Hi Joan! Thank you! And so glad you came by to hang out with us for a bit. 🥰
Stay well and see ya next time🙂
Hi Karen - Thank you for the suggestions, I will be checking out both of the heels.
I'm new to your podcast, the second I've seen. Nice socks and acquisitions! I will be back.....
Hi!! Thank you so much for watching and checking out the channel.
Y’all have inspired me to knit a Boneyard shawl as well!
Awesome! It really is a great knit.
Great episode! Try the public library for audio books. It’s free.
Awesome 😎 great idea! Thanks 😊
cracking...my Alexa keeps talking to you....first number was 9 rofl
love you guys, really enjoy the chatter, the vid/voice thing would be a delay only for you but for us it's perfect.
Aww so glad you are enjoying it! Lol the Joey Lawrence thing is hilarious. Thanks for watching and hanging out with us 🥰
Laura Neel the author of Sock Architecture used to live in my town and worked with my husband and I never put it together until I started reading this book. It was so funny! 😁. Be sure to check out Simply socks yarn company that she referenced in the book. They are here in Fort Wayne. I love going in their store when they open to public. Awesome sock yarn selection.
Oh awesome! Small world, we’ll definitely check them out 😊😊
the wonderland trail socks are beautiful
Thank you!! They are available now 😉❤️
The colours aren’t as good with your new set up tho’
I wouldn’t worry about accepting gifts from dyers and makers. You are advertising their wares after all.
Stay safe xx
Thank you for the feedback. We aren’t so happy with the lighting...we will work on it for the next one 😊
Wow you guys are so great!
The way you guys relate to the other is great. Your so relaxing and really great guys😷
Thank you...we kinda like each other 😂😏
Mail in Harry Potter is called Owl Post
Thank you!!!
Love your podcast. Fish lips kiss heel changed sock knitting for me. It is fantastic! You will love it. No more picking up stitches.
Great tip! We have the fish lips kiss pattern already. I'm going to try it with these socks :-)
My Alexa was responding to you Ray, each time! hahaha. My Alexa likes you!
Alexa is a funny gal.
Downton Abbey I can't get into.
But I am hooked on Call the Midwife. So much so that I make the crocheted baby blanket (a free pattern named after the show) a few times a year.
Oh haven’t heard about that one! Thanks 😊
Great podcast.... keep up the great work
Thank you! So glad you enjoy 😊
Trilogy Yarns is out of Spokane Washington. I love her yarn. I wish you had gotten Space Cowboy on her Plush Base. I love it. Rachelle
Hi Rachelle - We will add that one to our list, thank you for the suggestion.
oh man.... I love Downton Abby also and I've been rewatching the series during quarantine. I just joined lolodidit's club because I think I need a Branson color too :)
I am totally joining the club. I also need to watch the movie.
I signed up too because I need a color for every character in the show ever (even that scheming bitch Edna). Downton is one of my all-time favorite shows in the world! It's such a great comfort watch too.
On this weeks episode of Ray's Anatomy: *cue catchy intro song* SOCKS.
LOL
Love the show I have 2 shawls on needles now and I am knitting on one now watching you.
Nice! So glad you enjoy it...thank you for watching 😊
Awesome podcast guys:) love watching you guys every 2 weeks:) and btw nice family tattoo Ray 😉
Hi Mae - I've never read Agatha Christi, that's a really good suggestion though.
Everything sounds fine xx
Yay! Thanks 😊
Probably the first audiobook will be Harry Potter just to hear Stephen Fry 😎🥰
I found your podcast after Chevyrell mentioned you!
Welcome 🥰🥰
