I'm using Davinci Resolve, BUT I actually switched from Premiere Pro and did a ton of professional work inside it. I could absolutely get back on Premiere if it was necessary for clients. I still very much love Davinci though and think it's totally worth it's price.
resolve is 100 times better and lots of people (including companies = clients) are turning away from adobe. its not gonna be industry standard anymore very soon. they screwed up completely and they can‘t fix it
You don't have to goto Fusion to use keyframes curves in resolve, click on the curve icon next to the keyframe icon on the clips and you'd be able to use curves there. They've also added a lot more text based editing features in the new V19. So this really wasn't a video about resolve vs premiere but more like because premiere is more popular to it's easier to get a job with using premiere lol and how it works well with other software from adobe, what a shocker.
The subscription model absolutely sucks. Especially when we are literally paying subscriptions for almost everything nowadays. The fact you can purchase it once and own it for life is a huge + for Davinci
I have been using PREMIER PRO for more than 2 years now and not going to lie faced many bugs and crashes and for the solution of that I came up to this point where I am thinking to switch to DAVINCI RESOLVE . So I wanted your opinion ( as being an gaming video editor not flim maker and not uses color grading at all ) Should I switch or NOT ? And also please tell us that actually clients require us to use premier pro ?
if you are not color grading professionally (and by that i mean on a color accurate monitor and so) i would say use what you are more confortable with really, davince have some really cool features but not all is good, to edit on the go, on my laptop i rather use premier, because since it's a small screen adjust the panels is a huge factor for me (especially if you edit videos on vertical position), since you can get resolve for free (with many of the functions) i would say download and give it a try.
hey bro im also a gaming editor on Premiere pro, but recently there has been some weird terms on adobe. They can use ur work for their advantage and there is more stuff, ive been editing on it for a year and I think im gonna learn davinci now
Well all I can say is that PREMIER costs alot of money monthly and you will never really own the software, and davinci you buy once and dont have to worry about it, and you can also just use the free version which has all the features you need for gaming video editing
This is refreshing, all the videos in the past year been about trashing Adobe. I have both DaVinci and Premiere, and for editing I give it to Premiere 🙌🏾 for color DaVinci is king 👑 however for a fast turn around, coloring is Premiere isn’t bad at all, it gets the job done 👍🏽 good video!
i think it's worth point too that color in davinci is awesome but not easy to use, also, for many people not even worth trying (if you dont have a really good monitor, and good base recording from pro cameras), if people are editing just for youtube, instagram, etc.... in 90% of cases just the basic adobe color grading is enough
The problem of Davinci is mainly the keyframe functionality in the edit and fusion page. It is very frustrating to use and they seem to ignore their users who come from adobe premiere and after effects. As you said Premiere and after effects triumph with the amount of plugins they have vs resolve and fusion and this is where adobe shines as much as it pains me to say it. Yet I feel hard to switch back to premiere since I am very invested in resolve.
Well said! Made a video about this as well. There’s a reason premiere pro is the standard and it really helps you get job opportunities. Still sometimes frustrating but essential for team editing. Good video 🍻
My first editor was DaVinci because I heard Hollywood uses it. I finally paid the $300 upgrade, then lost the key a year later. Creating with GTA V means I cannot be without 120 frames per sec. I did not know Premiere was mainstream in the workplace. The 120 fps is much cheaper with Premiere and now I know how much I need it. I am going to get Premiere tonight. 👍
DaVinci is by far THE WORST editing software I’ve ever tried to use. Maybe it’s only for you super pro bros bc y’all keep singing its praises. Literally iMovie & iPhone apps are more useful. Unbelievable, what a freaking nightmare! SCREW DAVINCI!!
Just finished uni and thinking of learning editing to try and land some jobs. I have a Mac book pro m3 (base model) and was just wondering what application would be better, I understand this probably isn’t the best computer for editing. Any advice or tips for learning would be appreciated
the only thing holding me back from any adobe product is that you dont own any of the software and youre at the mercy of the subscription. you dont pay you get locked out of any projects you might be working on. the pricing is also way to much outside of being a student or teacher. i mean its no where near as bad as autodesk with 3dsmax and maya but still over priced. and the other thing is the stuff coming out of adobe as of late also reinforces the ehh feeling to any adobe product even if they might be good but makes adobe's counter parts look that more appealing.
Davinci looked like a good option to move away from Premiere Pro for very basic editing. But when I tried several files used in Premiere in Davinci and the timeline was lagging the option turned sour. Then I discover sooo many UA-cam videos addressing this lagging problem and spent a few hours making changes without solving the problem. If a video clip plays without issue in Premiere with default setting (no proxies) it should work in Davinci (it doesn't even with proxies).

Thanks for a different perspective on this ongoing debate.

right on point
Very precise video that i was looking for ! Loved your opinion ❤

Premiere bro lol 😂
You deserve more subscribers

I am using davinci and after effect 💀

You can't edit in davinci 120fps?
@@GadgetsGearCoffee Yes, you can, up to 32K

I like it
I am having a difficult time with my davinci, i can't locate the video that i have downloaded Please make a video on how to solve it.

I've used M1 Pro and it was fine editing 4K 10 bit color footage. You're absolutely set for editing on M3.
Good point
Nah, reinforcing the popular thing is not future proofing. Adobe keeps falling and their prices are insane, you can't even own their products.

If you pirate it you own it hehe
