Davinci looked like a good option to move away from Premiere Pro for very basic editing. But when I tried several files used in Premiere in Davinci and the timeline was lagging the option turned sour. Then I discover sooo many UA-cam videos addressing this lagging problem and spent a few hours making changes without solving the problem. If a video clip plays without issue in Premiere with default setting (no proxies) it should work in Davinci (it doesn't even with proxies).

This is refreshing, all the videos in the past year been about trashing Adobe. I have both DaVinci and Premiere, and for editing I give it to Premiere 🙌🏾 for color DaVinci is king 👑 however for a fast turn around, coloring is Premiere isn’t bad at all, it gets the job done 👍🏽 good video!

i think it's worth point too that color in davinci is awesome but not easy to use, also, for many people not even worth trying (if you dont have a really good monitor, and good base recording from pro cameras), if people are editing just for youtube, instagram, etc.... in 90% of cases just the basic adobe color grading is enough

I'm using Davinci Resolve, BUT I actually switched from Premiere Pro and did a ton of professional work inside it. I could absolutely get back on Premiere if it was necessary for clients. I still very much love Davinci though and think it's totally worth it's price.

Just finished uni and thinking of learning editing to try and land some jobs. I have a Mac book pro m3 (base model) and was just wondering what application would be better, I understand this probably isn’t the best computer for editing. Any advice or tips for learning would be appreciated

the only thing holding me back from any adobe product is that you dont own any of the software and youre at the mercy of the subscription. you dont pay you get locked out of any projects you might be working on. the pricing is also way to much outside of being a student or teacher. i mean its no where near as bad as autodesk with 3dsmax and maya but still over priced. and the other thing is the stuff coming out of adobe as of late also reinforces the ehh feeling to any adobe product even if they might be good but makes adobe's counter parts look that more appealing.

You don't have to goto Fusion to use keyframes curves in resolve, click on the curve icon next to the keyframe icon on the clips and you'd be able to use curves there. They've also added a lot more text based editing features in the new V19.
So this really wasn't a video about resolve vs premiere but more like because premiere is more popular to it's easier to get a job with using premiere lol and how it works well with other software from adobe, what a shocker.

I have been using PREMIER PRO for more than 2 years now and not going to lie faced many bugs and crashes and for the solution of that I came up to this point where I am thinking to switch to DAVINCI RESOLVE .
So I wanted your opinion ( as being an gaming video editor not flim maker and not uses color grading at all ) Should I switch or NOT ?
And also please tell us that actually clients require us to use premier pro ?

if you are not color grading professionally (and by that i mean on a color accurate monitor and so) i would say use what you are more confortable with really, davince have some really cool features but not all is good, to edit on the go, on my laptop i rather use premier, because since it's a small screen adjust the panels is a huge factor for me (especially if you edit videos on vertical position), since you can get resolve for free (with many of the functions) i would say download and give it a try.
