    New sub just for the entertaining animated intro. I also have a 2024 kit on the way, looking for insights. Thanks!

      Thank you. This has turned into one of my favorite RCs.

    Do you reapply simple green between batteries?

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  7 місяців тому +1

      Correct. They use sugar to make the track grip and sometimes the tires get covered in it after runs.

      @telecomandorc any suggestions on a non prepared asphalt track fir rear traction?

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  7 місяців тому +1

      @@JoevsRc Simple Green is the easiest and less expensive way. Mighty Gripper Black is the next step. But I would still use only Simple Green for just having fun. I would also use it more on the rear tires than the front. Use a softer compound on the rear. If the car oversteers too much, treat the rear tires or make sure the compound is softer. If it starts to understeer a lot, start treating the front tires. Do the inside half first and see how it does before you do the full tire.

    What is your track using for the red and white curbing and where can u get it from?

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  8 місяців тому

      Good question. I am not sure where to get them. I will have to ask.

    Seriously thinking of building one of these up during the winter. But if you had choice between this and a mod touring car which would you build? F1 kind of died out at local track and mod TC is pretty scarce….so it would mainly be for novelty bc i have most of the parts for a 25.5 F1.

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  Рік тому +1

      F1 but a different brand like a Roche. My axle bearings keep going out and then it just spins out and one bind. My friends Exotek has not had issues with these and the rear gear diff is cheap. The X1 needs spaces to run Exotek tires or it will hit the wing side box. but the spacers have to be large and not the ones in the kit or they will damage the bearings. When it works it works. So, probably the mod car just to have less parts to carry since I already have TC. But F1 is fun too.

    What/where can I get a chassis for a X1'23 to run on carpet??

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  Рік тому

      I am not sure since the Xray X1'24 is out. Maybe Norcal Hobbies has one in the back collecting dust but I doubt it. You can try calling: 408-293-5555 if they have it they might be able to ship it to you. If Eric cannot find one for you, no one can.

    What do you like for the front and rear droop settings on asphalt?

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  Рік тому

      I think 5.2mm where the chassis meets the nose and 5.4mm rear is good. Too much rear height difference and the rear will pass the front if you apply break too hard.

    • @bstearn1653
      @bstearn1653 Рік тому

      @@telecomandorc that’s ride height. Droop is the suspension travel above ride height. It’s a factor in weight transfer. Measure your ride height, then lift your front or rear until the tires just break contact and measure again. That is your droop value.

    I was curious about what camera do you use as I thought I saw the RunCam thumb in view?
    It sure looks good on my Big Screen TV.

    • @telecomandorc
      @telecomandorc  2 роки тому +1

      I have actually been having trouble with the video editing software on my computer due to updates. So the resolution is not as clean as the raw footage right out of the camera. But I am glad it does look good. It is a RunCam Thumb on the car. The footage from afar is a Hero10.

      I cannot post the link for some reason but it is a RunCam Thum. They go for less than $50USD from the manufacture. So, do not buy it off eBay for $80.

    Hello beginner here. I have a hobby wing 17 turn and a 92 spur. What size gearing should I be putting on for a opinion? thank you I'm just doing it in front of my house I have a nice clean spot😂

    • @telecomandorc

      😁 sounds fun.
      that is a really low turn motor for this car. I would start with a 42T. We run 25.5T here and with about an 83T spur and 48T pinion.

      @telecomandorc Last time I ran there it was very bumpy for touring... I imagine it is more challenging for F1. Great place though. Eric V. has done an incredible job providing such a great facility. Cheers.
