@@RaiseYourEdge hey ben youve been my favorite player for a while i know i have zero chance but youd make my year by giving me 10 minutes of your time to look at my game which is been burrying me lately im so frustrated lately i love poker my dads favorite game before he died but im almost at wits end could use some positive vibes thanks brother
It is unbelievable that Seidel is an 80's pro. He is the only before 2010 big name that is still crushing. I mean, right before Covid he finished 5th in the Aussie Millions Main Event , cashed for 200K in the 50K event and got second in the Australian Poker Open 25K event. The man is a mean machine. What a legend!
Amazing interview! A lot of knowledge and life perspective on poker, just way I love to approach it. 3 minutes in and I realized that I have Marias "Confidence Game" laying on my table. Definetley gonna come back and re-watch this after a while. Thanks a lot for great time :)
An interesting story and a really great idea for a book which, I assume, has gained a wider non-poker audience. Fair play for getting Seidel and others on board and making a career defining and life-changing decision. Had to scroll away to listen to the podcast because Maria as such an expressive face when talking that it was distracting from the conversation. Either that's a live tell or a killer weapon at the table. "Don't look at the face." Cheers RYE.
Excellent interview! It must be extremely tiring answering the same silly questions from people who refuse to do the minimum for themselves before they look for help. Keep up the great content sir!
Phenomenal! What a great podcast filled with all kinds of good content. And if you will, a great addition to the Jamie Staples Poker Podcast (Episode 32). I find it mega exciting and fascinating how deep we are in psychology, and that poker can be a microcosm for the whole of life, (if you let it) and vice versa. ☺♥
Great podcast as usual Ben. Much respect to you for the content you keep putting out. So much positive, potentially life changing information here for those willing to work at things. Of course, you motivate us in that aspect too so no excuses! Thanks my friend 👍
I highly suggest to Maria to start Brazilian jiu jitsu and ideally put the practise after each poker session :) Great interview @RaiseYourEdge! We need more of those.
One of the best podcasts I've ever seen !!! Thanks, Maria (& Ben), amazing thoughts and life understanding! Btw, John Atanassov - (half Bulgarian, half Irish & spelled this way, not like in Wikipedia) is the father of the modern computer - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Vincent_Atanasoff .
again great podcast, although I dont like the way she talks about chess. I mean saying that its boring cause its solvable feels so odd to me. Since human mind/skill is so far away from the optimal engine-play. (Btw even engines havent solved the game yet, since they are still playing for 3 results - so there is not always a right move, as it is said in the video). Chess is not tic tac toe man. Its not that we can grap the solution and play like that and win the game. I can see her point comparing poker with life, including all the incomplete information and there is never the 100% right path to step on. Not like in chess "where everything is there". But just cause everything is there for our eyes it doesnt mean that it is all there for our brain. You still have to develop ideas, judge different positions, calculate through lines and so on... I think that there is also an "optimal penalty kick" in soccer and you also dont say penalty kick is bad, boring or solvable or whatever since everyone is so far away from kicking it perfectly on a consistant level.
@@benjaminrolle7004 why so my friend? I can tell you if you played 1 year poker i dont care about your results you cant say youre a pro or make statements its way better than being a lawyer. I only watched the intro part but that was enough for me to know she had it easy in poker for now
Cute, Smart and loves poker, what a catch. The lady is nice to.
Haha, that cracked us up Marcus!

how much did Bencb win 2 years ago?
100$
I feel this lady hasn't exprienced more than a 1 day downswing in her life, but maybe she's the real deal, we'll see in 2 years.

Sure the best Players make insane amount of Money but they also claim that MORE RAKE IS better.
Idealistic viewpoints @Mknnikova, never happening though.
