Hi, Liam! Thank you for the review and kind words. I'm glad you found Zoo Med's Bearded Dragon foods favorable.
In regards to the fruit in the Dragon Food Diet, I brought your question to our nutritionist:
"We use green banana flour as a pesticide-free and gluten-free alternative to wheat; the bananas are harvested early (while still green) to ensure they are still high in resistant starches with a naturally low sugar content and low glycemic index. The mango fruit is limited to 5% of the diet and was included as an appetite stimulant."
Hopefully you find that a suitable solution.
I'll make sure that same note is made on our website to avoid any future confusion or concerns.
Thank you again for the review. Keep up the great work. 🦎

Thank you for clarifying, as a whole is the sugar content low with the 5% mango included?

I will say as someone who worked in vet med for mammals, raw diets are NOT highly recommended by nutritional experts for dogs and cats like it is with reptiles. So I'd caution everyone with proceeding with the rhetoric that raw is 'better' in some way for all animals. More fresh foods, yes. But not without the guidance of a veterinary nutritionist (someone with education behind them, not just an online course).

well yes, the complete diet is better broadly because people do not have the ability to formulate a diet themselves.

Would be interested to see a video like this on canned insects. I’d assume live is much better for them, but I have used canned insects while away on vacation.

I bred bearded dragons for years, depending mainly on a diet of fresh greens and insects. After being out of the hobby for some time, I bought a baby bearded dragon to keep just as a pet. She has been fed a diet of 90% Repashy Beardie Buffet her entire life (she's four years old now). I've seen absolutely zero difference in her health as compared to the 100's of dragons I raised in the past on a traditional greens/bugs diet. Just thought I'd add in my observation. Of course, she is a pet, and not going through the demands of breeding and egg-laying...not sure how this diet would perform under those circumstances.

@@ReptilesandResearch No, I haven’t. She is very active, alert, healthy. No signs of MBD or other issues. It would be interesting to see results, however.

Nice analysis. Do you think you'd ever do one on aquatic turtle and amphibian pellets?

This is useful indo!! I appreciate it so much. I do go on vacation for 2 weeks every year and have always struggled with care for my dragons while I'm away. One year, I did take them wirh me, and that was such a hassle because their houses are so big.

@@ReptilesandResearch absolutely!! I wouldn't just buy it and hope for the best. I've just never considered pellets because I've always done fresh food

I used to have house rabbits and fed mine hay and food I collected from the yard and made my own hay also from outdoor plants and I did it for the same reasons you have for refusing most products here for beardies. It just drives me bonkers that they add cheap fillers like soy, fruit, and such to animal food...They do it to humans as well and I only eat a whole food diet and avoid all the human kibble disguised as real food in the middle of all grocery stores. I don't have a beardie, but I enjoy all your videos.

These look like they are US products. Any suggestions for the UK? Something crunchy to help get rid of plaque?
