That 79 yellow beast..love to the eyes and all. . She was not getting enough grip from the front tires to pull her out. Guess that wicked suction of the mud and the fact that even tho the engine weight is above the front wheels, still bound her in. None of the other trucks could have even hoped to get front wheels on the bank...just gone down out of sight in the mud ocean.
I had to watch it again, I noticed all four spinning when you were in the little creek. Well it's not like you were stuck, sometimes traction is hard to come by when it's cold and tires work better when thier warm. The creek really wanted you to continue driving downstream LOL.
The truck does get well takin care of. Anytime something has gotten broke, it gets replaced with better parts. The body gets polished a few times a summer (especially after seeing lots of mud) And is still nice enough for the local car show.
Well what most people maybe don't realize is that mud doesnt really hurt anything, you can break parts if the truck isn't built to handle it. Mine handles it fine, and when anything does break I fix it. This truck has looked like this for 10 years now, still looks good for 10 years of offroad abuse I think.
yeah it sucks big time if you get stuck in icy water. That creek was a bad one, still ice flowing in it, my feet froze, and my hands got awful chilly diggin the winch cable out from under the water!!
@lonespartan31289 Thank you. Yeah my step-dad isn't a ford fan so hes taking the plow rigging off the ford an gonna some how bolt it up to the chevy 1500 which i call junk lol
@mudfreak79 sorry I had not noticed, what I wrote is: chevrolet stayed in a mud instead followed the Ford always forward, so I put that there is also another thing that ford
You need to try it, my brother had the same attitude as you......until he tried it!!! ya dont judge until you try ..its hard to explain as well ...its a must try activity!
@nicktrott1990 god i love that whinning sound!! lol, at least you know its working right? lol, we have a 79' with 800,000 miles, still running..could use a carb rebuild though..gotta love those old fords like in this vid!
Now THESE are real bogg trucks!! Do you guys run up at the mud competitions where ya'll live? You guys would do great there! All of your trucks are SAWEEET!! My S10 will be just like that when I'm finished with 'er. ;) Running a 3" all around lift, with 33's right now. ^_^ Working on the Snorkel and getting a locker in the rear.
@QuinnyRubicon Actually, where we were going is where we were told to by the forestry services, so it was perfectly legal. I no longer particepate in this type of offroading as I have switched to closed course mud racing instead. Mostly due to the fact that the environment is always being watched, and I will not be the one to give 4x4 enthusiats a bad name.
@acavideo they're not illegal here, there are places that we are not allowed to go, so this area is where we are told to go by the fish and wildlife officers.
a place i would like to see sometime also, it nice up their? im from the state of washington and ive had people tell me they like the mild climate compared to other parts of the us anyday
This is the wheelin I like, in the back woods, and snow on the creek bank. Well done fellas!
There are some pretty mean mud bogs in that video. Love mud bogging with the ATV.

Love what you've done with your Ford over the years. Wish I had money lol.
That 79 yellow beast..love to the eyes and all. . She was not getting enough grip from the front tires to pull her out. Guess that wicked suction of the mud and the fact that even tho the engine weight is above the front wheels, still bound her in.

I would love to come up there with the old ford someday an go mudding...

very nice video, thanks for posting!!
@TheFordshaker yeah, Alberta
@ultaMMA I believe it was a 4" lift, 36" swampers, some minor fender trimming on the front
And that mud STINKS!! REAL GOOD!!
@Ford400BB actually in this vid it was a healthy small block, I didnt get the big block till a few years after this vid.
Great footage!!!
awesome video man looks like it was one hell of a good time
Had to pull the top end 3 times to replace bent valves, valve guides were too tight. But we swapped heads and all is good.
he had some good times in it though... damn i wished he kept it!!
We're from Grande Prairie, Alberta, this is all on crown land south of town where everyone goes out wheelin.
Thanks, I appreciate it!!

Nothin like a good ol powerline trail.
damn u guys must love the 78's and 79's f series i jsut noticed ya have anotehr one there
at the time of this vid, all of them were everyday trucks. They have since become either scrape yards gems or all out race trucks.
Well what most people maybe don't realize is that mud doesnt really hurt anything, you can break parts if the truck isn't built to handle it. Mine handles it fine, and when anything does break I fix it. This truck has looked like this for 10 years now, still looks good for 10 years of offroad abuse I think.
@fordhastalamuerte If you are going to comment, PLEASE do it in english so I am able to read it, Thanks!!!
yep, especially when you have to do a few things twice to get it right!! LOL
Awesome video !!
@dozer897 yes it is, it will be more of a mud drag race then a bog this year.
yeah it sucks big time if you get stuck in icy water.
The engine in this vid is a built 351w, but I've dropped in a 468 bigblock since then
that yellow truck man its sweet.
@mudfreak79 sorry I had not noticed, what I wrote is: chevrolet stayed in a mud instead followed the Ford always forward, so I put that there is also another thing that ford
I winched out, but the camera guy was busy when I did it. Ice under the water doesnt give you much for traction.
looks like a good time to me!! :)
i got to bring my truck up there some day!! that looks MINT!!!
nice fords
built ford tough
ford rock!!!!!!!!!
man i thought you were gonna roll over in that creek!

Great Vid Mudfreak, Love it. I`m curious, what tire is used on the Chevy Blazer at 0:55 on? Thanks man.
@nicktrott1990 nice dude love the 351's! my dad has a 93' F350 4 door dually with the 351, things a goddamned tank!
You need to try it, my brother had the same attitude as you......until he tried it!!! ya dont judge until you try ..its hard to explain as well ...its a must try activity!
yeah, I got out the way I came in and gave it another try, had to winch it up the other side, lots of frost under the dirt made it a difficult climb.
not really sure, I picked it out of a color card and the body shop painted it.
awesome video!
A mildly built 400, cam, intake, carb, headers etc
@nicktrott1990 god i love that whinning sound!! lol, at least you know its working right? lol, we have a 79' with 800,000 miles, still running..could use a carb rebuild though..gotta love those old fords like in this vid!
what amount of lift is on that red ford and what size tires?
@BubonicPlague88 yeah I race mine all summer long now, but no more trail muddin for it anymore, the race motor won't idle for this stuff LOL
he did a custom solid axle swap, running a d44 front and 9" rear. Not sure what leafs he used though
awesome video where you guys at luv fords
looks like hella fun
@MrCamaroguy22 I had the engine covered in, which usually worked very well, just not that time. I have a snorkle now.

Now THESE are real bogg trucks!! Do you guys run up at the mud competitions where ya'll live? You guys would do great there! All of your trucks are SAWEEET!! My S10 will be just like that when I'm finished with 'er. ;)

I got a 77 F-100 Supercab with a stock 351 Cleveland M, and a low geared C6 tran. do you think it'd be strong enough to pull through that stuff?
north western Alberta
its a '79 ranger as well. Whats done to it?? everything!! LOL
The Black K5 is beautiful
amazing
depends on the year, model and what you're gonna use it for
@nicktrott1990 what engine you got in there? those early 90's engines are unkillable! although the 4.6 and 5.4 are also great
no its just south of Grande Prairie
thats a nice ford 78 or 79? i have a 76 swb ford with a 460 in it bored and stroked to somewhere around 480 ish hope to have a turbo on it soon
a place i would like to see sometime also, it nice up their? im from the state of washington and ive had people tell me they like the mild climate compared to other parts of the us anyday
@DoubleVisionandco he had 36x12.5 super swampers on it
A 4" lift would clear 38s on a highboy, maybe some minor trimming. I've got 6/3 lift.
