St. John’s wort and kava kava can interact with a lot of medications because of how they affect the CNS. But I’m not sure if it’s a small possibility of interaction or if it’s a common occurrence. Not related to the content of this video, but I really appreciate how well-researched your videos are and how well-spoken you are. You are a wonderful face of normal in the vegan community that, sadly, is rare and very much necessary. So, thank you.

    Totally agree with you here, a lot of these brands go a little too "crunchy granola". But, speak for yourself on the Lenny & Larry's, I LOVE those.

    Not disagreeing with the points about tea, but there are many, many Ayurvedic herbs that help with anxiety and other mental issues. I’ve had serious non placebo effects from ashwaghanda and brahmi...helps me to sleep and with chronic anxiety.

    This is why I love this channel. Speaking as a vegan myself I find alot of vegan content on UA-cam irritating and condescending. You are right to call out vegan food brands on this whole you don't need a doctor anymore BS. Keep up the good work.

    I think I'll stick with the MUCH CHEAPER Lipton Relax tea XD Ironically, it helped when I was having a terrible panic reaction to Wellbutrin. But it's not a cure, just a little relief from physical anxiety for a few hours.
    Yeah hibiscus tea doesn't do anything at all besides be tasty. I'll also have more vivid dreams if I drink a couple glasses of it, but so does Benadryl.
    Hemp edibles are slightly relaxing, but it's just okay-- I tried some in liquid form and I had the worst nightmares ever.

    Recently, Dr. Drey (dermatologist who is vegan) has been called out by several youtubers who are concern about her health and what she's promoting. Do you have any opinions or comments, maybe even a video response would be cool? I always like your take on things because I feel you always back up your facts and admit to your faults, that is human not blind cult following.

    Watching you get into these rants and catch yourself and try to be fair, then fall back into a rant... it hurts my heart because I do this almost every day. I work in tech and I see so much bullshit and black boxes and shitty attitudes from end users and I get really cynical and then some part of me swoops in to try and advocate for the benefit of the doubt and it’s a tough place to be. People fall for dumb stuff all the time and those of us who can see through it all will never be able to change it. And, if we’re being honest, we fall into the trap sometimes, too. I try to find ways to love people so I can let all of that go. There are smart things happening today, too.

    You find lupini beans in whatever section of your grocery store has the Italian or Mediterranean stuff. They are brined and it's a popular bar snack in the Mediterranean. I grew up with them and I eat them whole, plain out of the bottle. I have a hard time not finishing the whole thing in one sitting, but they're low calorie and high in protein for a snack food, so that is how I excuse it.

    Tea can definitely help with mental health in the short term, but not by much, so it definitely can't cure it. Smh
    Swayze, I highly suggest looking into the benefits of cannabis. As a regular user of both THC and CBD/hemp, I can confidently say that in moderation (just like any medicine), it helps a lot with my mental health.

    • @PhoenixRising87

      Same on the cannabis. I've been taking CBD for several months (mostly in the form of edibles, but vaping, too), and it definitely helps. (I still take my meds, though)

    i think the thing with hemp is that there's been people saying that cbd e related oils helped them with things like anxiety and sleep, but i've also heard people talking about how it worsened their anxiety and other conditions, so it's really polarized

    I would love a CBD review of the literature video from you omg. lupini beans are very italian grandma, the only place I’ve seen them is pickled in an Italian deli or the Italian section of the supermarket. Literally the unsexiest food available would not have thought it would become the next Keto trend! Also, anecdotally, thc helps my mood a lot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    They're smart that instead of saying " cures " they say " relieves " which in a sense they would be right, for some people drinking tea with certain herbs can cause a relaxant effect. Now would I pay $$ for a possible relaxant? No, most chamomile tea are already vegan by default so i'd rather pay $. But changing your diet in general is probably enough to help reduce mental stress.

    My Arab ass laughed when i heard you say the date syrup was described as a super food. Yeh according to google its a popular sweetener in the Middle East and I’ve been eating it since i was a child. Who knew i was eating a superfood. One way I’d recommend eating it is by mixing it with plain tahini (not with any tahini sauce thing, I’ve accidentally done that with disgusting results). You can mix it in a 5:1 syrup to tahini ratio and adjust according to taste (I personally prefer a lot more tahini), and then i usually eat it by dipping in pita bread but you can spread it on toast or something. According to google its Iraqi, its called Dibis w'Rashi and they add a spritz of lemon juice to it. P.s dates are great how dare you say that abut them, my poor heart cant take that slander ;.;
