I went into a few GameStops (in your area) today and I'm a believer that they have purposely priced games higher than market just so that at some point they will throw x% offer down the road to artificially make it look like it is a sale.
no prices were adjusted during this time. Prices can always match the website and not a single one was raised prior which is why you wont find any screenshots of such unless an item was on sale prior.
If you target the stuff that rarely goes on sale (Nintendo 1st party switch releases) a b2g1 deal is still a deal on even jacked up base pricing. You nailed it- They’re more focused on used games, toys & pops because there’s better margins Pokémon cards and new games have trash margins
Y2k. Sales are based off Merchant companies. If our suppliers don't offer any deals or stock there will not be many sales. We had the cheapest ps5s in the market this year with b1g1 free games with preowned.... There just isn't much else going on. Video card stock is gone. New games is low, used game stock is low, Consoles is low. what else besides figurine's can go on sale? We literally emptied the warehouse this year.
As someone recently in the job market, GameStop paying their employees $8 an hour in 2024 almost 25 should really tell you all you need to know lmao. At my job interview there they used the "employee checkout program" as a selling point to me.
Target, alot of walmarts, dollar general, 5 below, Ulti, kmart, home goods, you name it. If its retail they are paying minimum wage. This isn't a gamestop problem its a retail problem. 60% of all retail jobs are listed as minimum wage currently according to u.s. census.
Blasphemous is super good I just finished it 3 weeks ago had a blast. Picked it up the deluxe edition blindly at a GameStop a few months ago for 40 bucks!
Picked ups from gamestop online this year Dragon quest 5 ds cib Dragon quest 6 ds cib Dragon quest Monsters Dark prince cib Legend of heroes Trails from zero switch cib Legend of heroes Trails to azure switch cib The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails cib A Balbassar plush for my wife (Favorite pokemon) That's the extent of what i've bought from gamestop this year
holding out how? They were probably not owed anything. We get a ton of people that will have a picture of them receiving their package and still complain to the internet we denied them.
@chrisallen1668 that's so true bro I was referring to some of the good retro games. That I saw some gemestop workers holding on to item that's on the shelfs so they can purchase for themselves to resell
@ please report that if you can. Workers can purchase items before they go on sale to the public but must be them right away. For example PS5 release date. They arrive to shift at 7 am. Store opens at 8. We have 10 ps5's at that point they can buy one RIGHT then and there but cannot hold it. If you see them holding anything please call customer service and file a complaint. That will go to their DM
Brotherhood of Steel is interesting. The PS2 version is roughly double the cost of the OG Xbox. I feel like that's a money trap game. As a Fallout fan I played it when it was current, and I couldn't stand it. Maybe it's aged like wine though, IDK.

Same in AZ
This is how the 2 for 20 and 4 for 40 work.

Good morning
New Gamestop, same as the old Gamestop except worse.
Games are always expensive
Game stop is holding out on customers seen couple contents and people are complaining about there service

GameStop is the most extensive store at least in Germany. You can get way better deals

No it's still pretty bad It's mostly a novelty And a lot of fans want it to have In their collections Thus demands the price I got my copy for 25
Its an acquired taste. If u don't mind the baldur's gate mechanics it is a bit of fun if somewhat lengthy and repetitive.
