    I follow a whole-food plant based diet
    for my diabetes
and had before my recent flare up of myasthenia gravis
    which led to my hospitalisation
I had been focusing on low calorific density foods.
The flare up was manifest in general weakness
    and I had problems chewing
    and swallowing
so I am making a smoothie
out of pea protein powder, oats and nut butter
to build up the quantity of food being consumed
    I am on prednisone now
but the advice given in this talk
confirmed that whole foods plant based diet is helpful.

Me too and Ive gain so much weight. Can i ask was you: did your stomach get extremely big right after surgery. It’s been 7weeks since my transplant and i still look six months pregnant and I’m freaking out it wont go down. Any advice

@@SBG2013 You may need to discuss edema with your physician to lose some water weight, move as much as possible any activity is beneficial, I also did some intermittent fasting in consultation with my dietitian.
If you’re only 7 weeks out it’s early days, don’t rush it, transplant is major trauma to your body so be patient, you’ll get through, can’t rush it.

ok so when I started this pill I gained 20 pounds in a week...I also felt bigger when getting out the hospital for some reason so I knew something was wrong. So I started eating healthy and exercising ALOT. Ive almost lost all the weight ive gained but one day instead of my normal diet I simply drunk 2 cups of orange juice and ate a cup of cereal and was up 5 pounds( NOT JOKING ) 131 to 136. And trust me I don’t eat bad at all. All I drink is water and make sure to count my calories. IVE never had problems with my weight nor worried about. Use to eat whatever I wanted and was never as hungry as I am now. ( I eat 1000- 1500 cals a day btw ) Also had sleep problems but i did fix it with atleast 10 hours everyday. i just wonder if I will have this problem even when im off the pill. its just really hard cuz one mess up and I gain weight like crazy. I go 10miles on my bike everyday + a 1hour at home workout, eating lots of fruit and healthy foods. PLZ RESPOND ☹️

Hi! We're not medical professionals at Conquer MG and so can't comment on your health situation. Based on personal experience with prednisone and hearing responses from others with MG, we know how each person responds to this medication and which side effects are most worrisome varies a lot from person to person. It depends on all sorts of things - like dosage, inital age & weight, plus other illnesses and medications. For many it affects bone density, blood sugar, sleep...some see their diabetes or glaucoma worsening. Kudos to you for working hard to maintain your health! Specific questions should be addressed to your doctor(s).

dear Jugg , thank you for sharing, I heard people saying that their weight is better after the change of dose, ask your doctor.
I wanted to ask you what meds are you on? I am waiting for the appointment and hardly can walk, I am so happy that you can make 10 miles on your bike, please help me if you can, thank you for a hope.
