I use a saws all to cut and a dauber to apply herbicide...with similarly good results.

What herbicide should be used? Thats an important piece of information.

Glyphosate works well. Use at least 20% active ingredient. Incidentally, I just checked this site recently and it still looks good. Glyphosate will provide slightly better control than triclopyr according to research by Stephen Enloe at the Univiersity of Florida.

Not a fan of foam. Takes too long to apply also can't effectively hack squirt or girdle either. Options and applications very limited and less kill in outings

Have you tried our foam herbicide system? It's totally different from conventional foam technologies.

Why kill what bees 🐝 use and it’s a hedge

This method shouldn't harm bees at all. The chemical we used has low toxicity to bee. Moreover removal of the privet will benefit the bees. Look at the study from Hanula et al (2011) where the researchers found that removal of privet "provided immediate benefits for native pollinators and resulted in bee communities similar to non-invaded forests."

It's highly invasive, spreads like wildfire, and if left unchecked, over time, its root system can crack concrete paths and foundations.
