Agreed. Best version of "Kashmir" to me, is the live recording from "Celebration Day". Even it's Jason on the drums and not his dad, but he nailed that song and the guitar is so powerfull in this recording. Just my opinion.
@@ingobordewick6480 Celebration Day is my favourite live performance of it too. The sound quality, sound mix, arrangement are all superb. Just a shame there is no Bonzo but Jason did his dad proud!
Having heard this, and knowing you’ve been reacting to a lot of Heart recently, you should check out the Kennedy Center Honors performance of Stairway by Heart. It’s beyond amazing. There are two versions, you’ll want to watch the full version, not the one edited for the broadcast on CBS. In addition to Ann and Nancy Wilson, Jason Bonham, the son of LZ’s drummer John Bonham is the drummer. LZ didn’t know he was going to perform so it was a wonderful surprise for them, especially Robert Plant who is his godfather.
This is the culmination of their adventures in combining rock and folk. Especially the previous album III goes a long way to folk, with half of the album electric heavy rock and half acoustic songs. "Tangerine" is often considered to be the prototype for "Stairway.." Yes, Plant has an unique voice but in live performances there is only so many times you can say "baby baby....." especially when going somewhere with the melody.
It's really hard to pin down one's top 3 Zeppelin songs, because, as the saying goes, your favourite Zeppelin tune is the one you're currently listening to. I'll just cheat and list my current favourite Zeppelin tracks: 1.) Kashmir 2.) Babe I'm Gonna Leave You 3.) When the Levee Breaks 4.) Ten Years Gone and 5.) The Rain Song.
Kashmir's their best, bar none. MASTERPIECE. Immigrant Song's second, although it's also the one that probably everybody recognises (after Stairway). Third for me has to be Whole Lotta Love.
D'yer Mak'er is pronounced like Jamaica said in a London accent. To me this is about a delusion that material success is all that's worthwhile and how that can distort a person from their true self.
Original famous song indeed was released in the 70's by them and same song version was sung by the American band named FAR CORPORATION in the early 80's kindly check it and see who's doing it better

You really need something in a bowl to truly enjoy
Go Bonzo!!!
Live version at MSG is totally epic
I mean I like Robert Plant too but my favorite about Zeppelin is the music and lyrics.
Recommend "Achilles Last Stand" for your next LZ song reaction, you will not be disappointed and will blow your mind!

The live version Maddison Square Garden is more satisfying... looonger.
It’s about materialism. You can’t buy a stairway to Heaven! It’s folly, you hear it in his last notes!
