TRON is the most beautiful film ever
Normally, I'm not a fan of overuse of CGI, but what really sold it in this film was the camerawork. Even though many shots were 100% digital, the "camera" was still restricted in it's movements to what could be done if everything were real. For example, at 3:04, the shot is almost entirely digital, but the concept here was to have a shot with the "camera rig" mounted on the front of the car (often done in real life). To sell the effect, subtle vibration is added so it looks like the "camera" is truly attached to a moving vehicle. It's little details that can make or break a CG effect, and unfortunately most modern films don't exercise enough restraint to make it believable.
I love overuse of CGI I think ur completely wrong
I'm assuming you don't like Avatar or Pacific Rim then?
@@jennykim9427 No, I'm not. I have never understood the hype over the visuals in either of those films, as they look like typical modern CG work.
@@sixstanger00 Well that's your opinion. And it's valid, not everyone likes everything. I like how you managed to explain what you don't like about CGI and still didn't insult the movies. It's rare nowadays for someone to respectfully criticize something they dislike.
@@jennykim9427 I'm a bit of a movie/telly afficiado; Tubi has been a treasure trove of classic films & TV shows I've wanted to see.
I'll give credit where credit is due. Just because a film is modern doesn't mean it's junk (The Force Awakens, M3GAN, Wolf on Wallstreet, etc).
Just because a film is old doesn't mean it's magically a 10/10.... such as Castle Keep. My god... never in my life have I ever suffered through a duller movie than Castle Sleep...err... Keep.
2022 and this film, like its prequel, has the merit of being a before and after in the world of CGI way ahead of its time
So, the 'programs' did this amazing movie. 🤔
*Year 2020, still loving it (movie).
2:16 I've always loved to see stunt's awesome movement
For me, the eyes take it deep into the uncanny valley. but, given the technology at the time... it was brilliant :)
3:50 I'm shocked they didn't have to use tracking dots on the stand-in actor to sync with Bridges. And, surprised they didn't use the actor's real hair to look like Bridges, then map his face to it.
This is truly amazing
And then there is deep fake and outdates it
@@DorneyGamer nah, this movie is still advanced to me
They just nailed the environments in this. They hold up so well even now. And I love rewatching this movie. It felt so real, even though we're meant to be inside a computer simulation. Daft Punk delivered on the soundtrack. And I truly think the deaging on CLU was pretty damned good. It holds up the least well of everything in the movie, but I thought it was good then and I still think it's alright now. Definitely one of my all time favourites.
Love it or hate it, this movie is stunning
Clu is an ok attempt for the time but the skin looks kind of flat and oddly coloured. I would say it's not as good as the brief "young Arnie" appearance in Salvation.
Because this film was made 10 years ago
Young Arnie isn't really talking or doing much of anything in Salvation. His face appears for about 2 "Woah!" shots in the film before they destroy it with a grenade launcher. It works for the film since its a terminator and he's supposed to be a soulless killing machine verses a fully fledged, emoting, talking antagonist. I think part of it is the technology was in its infancy for Tron Legacy but also Salvation kind of picked and chose their shots really well to make the moment stick. I almost guarantee the whole effect would have fallen apart had they tried to get the terminator to talk or heaven forbid smile.
@TAJ SANDERS but then young Flynn looks the same, like a video game character...
film was made 10 years ago, a time when nobody tried de-aging because it was really hard to do so digitally. Its a great try to be honest
Digital De-aging was in it's extreme infancy at the time they did Tron Legacy. Now, it's gotten to the point where you can't tell the difference. A really good example is the opening segment of the first AntMan film and we see a young looking Micheal Douglas.
Wow so much edited stuff and I thought most of the glass settings were real even the vehicles I thought those were real props😲 so cool
Man I remember being impressed 14 years ago but imagine what they could today. I bet someone could even make this look better by working on it today.

What, they can’t afford to make Clu’s suit in real life?
They can and did, the issue was actually with how Jeff Bridges would look like a younger version of himself (C.L.U.) as he got older
Mr H?
When I was a kid I thought they made him look younger with makeup
