When a friend's father died, the family let their dog see and sniff their father before the funeral people came. Then, the dog attended the funeral and the internment. IDK if dogs know about death. Their dog appeared to be mourning for about a month.
Just be aware: A really friendly dog in a house you work in can have it's own issues. They can be a major distraction where you just want to hang out with them all the time. But more importantly, they can be all up in your space wanting attention and getting in the way. I clean houses and figured out that one of my clients dogs liked being vacuumed with the brush attachment. From then on out he would come RUNNING any time I got out the vacuum and would be following me around getting in my way vacuuming if I didn't either vacuum him or make him go lay down somewhere far away in the house. --and I've had other dogs (And cats) that will just follow me around and get in my way without the vacuum. I've even stepped on them when they are behind me and I suddenly turn or move 😞
My goodness! Amazing, I’m so glad Graeme found the roots of the problem and had it solved in no times! I wish this lady and her dogs a peaceful and serene life from now on 😊👏👍❤
My dogs refsed to eat when my grandmother died. My rescue was especially protective of her and he was hit the most. They only started eating again when I took them to the wake and they got to sniff her coffin. Heartbreaking. 💔
We had lived with my mum and her 2 dogs for years before we moved apart. She got very tired and sick, and we had an opportunity to take them in March. My mum passed away in June and I believe it would have been very traumatic for them. I know they are missing her, but doing well.
@@cathymartens7478 I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my gran in December and it’s still tough. You are kind to take her dogs in. I hope they live long and happy lives ❤️
@@sn00gums Thank you so much. They are doing well, I'm just very grateful we were able to take them. Thinking of them stressed and scared would have added to our sadness about mum xxxx
My Jack Russell Terrier is protective of the house and the other houses within 150 feet either side of the street. He is very watchful of a mother and daughter who live across the street. When he hears one of their cars come or go, he wants to see what's happening, especially tgat they get into the house safely. If they come home after dark, he barks a couple times so they know he does not approve. When plumbers were coming for a week to replumb the house, I told him the night before. When they arrived in the morning, took him outside and cheerily said "look, Scooby, plumbers." He had a happy week, sitting and watching them work and following them around. When two of them went under the house, he waited at the opening for them to return. When they sat under a tree to eat their lunches, he watched until I noticed. Then, it was "Scooby, they didn't bring any of that for you, your lunch is inside." Scooby hung his head and went to his lunch.
Gee I am so sorry for Dave's passing. I wonder when this was recorded, I would like to know when Dave passed away. Are these old episodes that are just being put on TY? Anyway, I am so sorry for your loss dear! I pray that you will come to find peace and joy in the memories you and Dave shared together.
God bless these builders!!!! Super nice and super impactful for them to have agreed to participate. Love them!
Sometimes we forget that our pets grieve our lost ones in their own way..
Yes they get ptsd too

Good old Flynn in the midst of their shared grief he was probably trying to protect mum from strange man in the house
Oh, the poor, little baby is missing his daddy and not understanding why daddy doesn't return.
Graeme is such a tender soul
😂😂 getting the builders to bribe him with food would have been my first idea

Thank God that Bob the Builder isn't renovating the house.
