      it's not a sweet bond; the dog has anxiety caused by betting addicted by the dopamine rush of being next to the owner. The dog has to learn to be able to settle his mind when his owner is away else the dog will be condemned to a life of mental anxiety and helplessness.

      @@robin212212you are absolutely correct. There is nothing sweet about unhealthy relationships, whether with humans or canines.

    I got a 2 year old abused rescue that did this, if I left the room without her she would bark none stop until I came back. It took 3 weeks of going in and out of the room multiple times a day for increasing periods and only coming back in when she stopped barking, before she finally stopped. She actually got worse before she got better, the longest I waited before she stopped barking long enough for me to come back in was 1.5 hours. Consistency is the key, and not giving up!

      It seems like they have a great bond, a human a dog bond, it's so primitive but so natural. The purpose of a dog is to accompany his owner and to be his "shadow". It's a pity that in today's society dog can't follow his human everywhere, even to a grocery shop, even on a leash and muzzle

    Bonjour et bien oui , c'est ça un malinois ! J'ai le même à la maison . Ce sont des chiens merveilleux et très intelligents. Faut gérer..... Alors presque le même parcours , toi une leucémie et moi un cancer des intestins. Mon Tino me suit partout. Bon courage

    My sheepdog mix was like that, I think sheepdogs are especially prone to separation anxiety, because they were bred to be with their shepherd and their herd...
    It was really hard, she died a year ago, now I'm free but miss her very much, I would have a new dog in an instant but this suffocating experience holds me back

      @squaretriangle9208 I had a beautiful bearded collie Alfie and he was beautiful but he would herd people we used to hike everywhere together mountain and hill walking. But in the house my family couldn't leave my home very intelligent dog he lived to be nearly 15. They are a lovely breed. I still miss Alfie everyday I can understand how I feel.

    Excellent example of how the training of eliminating separation anxiety starts indoors by teaching the dog that you do not have to follow me around whereever I go. :-)

    Such intelligent dogs. Good thing is they can be trained.Often with these dogs they just need a lot of exercise and stimulation hence working dogs.Then they are easier to settle.We tend to overlook this.Such a lovely companion and bond.

    I have had and still having the same with my daughters adopted 4 yr old beagle. He follows me everywhere but not the bathroom 😂. I have stopped him from sleeping on my bed now he sleeps on his own bed, I have been crate training him and he’s been left for a few hours. He will only whine if he’s in the crate when we are all home. His separation anxiety is down to the previous owner, dog shelter & the people who fostered him for 8 wks before he came to my family. He has had no boundaries and not been taught to be independent of people. As I write this he’s asleep at the bottom of my bed, but that’s only when I allowed him otherwise he knows he goes to his bed. I swear it’s harder than having kids! 😂😂😂

    I just stumbled onto this show, and. Well. I’ve always had well behaved, obedient dogs throughout my life. It just WAS. I was the leader. They followed. Period. Many dogs many breeds. I’m 60 now. I was pretty much over having them, but I couldn’t help myself saving a perfect little bit older gentleman, no more puppies, thank you, he just looked so SAD, best guess, cairn mix. I brought him home for a trial. I’m not that naive lol. cat, fine. Little grandKids, fine. Housebroken? Absolutely perfect. He can wait until we get up. Quiet. A dream little doggie! So dang cute, small enough. First terrier, though. Or smaller dog. I never realized just how manipulative they can be😂. I’m seeing in our behavior, that we are starting to give into his begging for food “just make him stop”. And I’ve had setters lol. And acting aggressive at other dogs on walks, avoidance. He walked ok when we got him. It’s progressively been worse. I laughed out loud at the woman who ducked behind cars, and people who time their dog’s walks. Guilty! I’m ashamed to say I can see why he’s doing it now. We’re letting him decide. Completely ridiculous 😂 It’s been a slow insidious slide, but it’s stopping, now. And it really is working quick. Changed up my harness, blocking, little corrections. Always good boy! I would have never ever dreamed in a million years before letting my dogs boss me around. Got complacent I guess. Those little things snowball lol. Terriers are stubborn, whew lol. 😂 This is a fantastic show. He blows Cesear away, imo.

    As much as he loves him, this breed should never be pets, they are far too intelligent and energetic to be pets. He should be aware of this and try to replicate a full time active job as much as possible and know that this isn't the ideal home for this type of dog.

    • @carolwilliams8511
      @carolwilliams8511 Місяць тому +5

      Also the breed is often used for protection work because of their loyalty and work drive. Some of them are bitey because that's what the breed is trained for.

    Interesting, I have a rescued service dog and she has severe separation anxiety, too. For every dog that behaves badIy, behind that dog is a hoarder of nasty peopIe in the "training" centers. A young dog bred for hyperactivity shouId have the opportunity to expend that energy, too. It's Iike teIIing an active toddler to sit in a chair aII day and do nothing.
