Awww Matt, we only ever bought that bottle because it was an investment in memories to be made with our closest friends. Thank God it tastes so damn good too (that’s just a bonus though). Thank you for always making our time with you amazing❤️
You and Dan are absolute salt of the earth!! What good is success if you don’t share generously with those around you? You’re an amazing couple supporting an amazing group of whiskey-tubers and, by extension, benefiting all of us viewers. Thank you X1,000!!
@@dannyfannyfoodle That is a very kind thing to say Dan. Thank you. We love this community and we get way more back than we give. We have met the best people on the planet thanks to being accepted around here;)
Congrats to you Julie - you epitomize all that is right in the world - achievement and generosity. Take note that your sharing is humbling, appreciated and noted by the community you so deeply care about. You and fam are all this is right with this community. Godspeed! 🎉❤
@ADHD Whiskey you know what, it sounded great in my left earbud...as I was only listening through the one (my wife needs me to be able to hear her talk about unimportant things - aka not bourbon).
You describing having this Whiskey among friends and the experience brought a tear to my eyes. This is what my bourbon journey is all about. Thanks Matt.
Amazing video. Glad to see you review a bourbon of this caliber. It was really fun to catch the live stream of you guys the night of trying this and playing drinking games. Good times! Dan and Julie are really friggin' awesome people and a staple in the whiskey community.
You have done a great job over the years which has aloud you many of great opportunities! Great contacts and one better great friends! Not jealous, just happy for you!
Matt, I used to watch your videos all the time, and kind of dropped out of the bourbon YT vids. This video was in my recommendations and I saw the thumbnail and thought "who is that guy?" You've transformed yourself! Nice work, brother.
Hit it on the head. Money is something that can always be made again but great friends are hard to come by. Cheers to friends who are like family. Thanks for sharing the pour!
Amazing generosity from Dan and Julie and glad you enjoy it so much! I would never want it to be wasted on me if I got the chance because I really am not a fan of mint notes in whiskey. For that reason, Ryes can be very hit or miss for me. Just give me the darkest of fruit, butterscotch, vanilla, and oak and I'm in heaven.
That’s a great point, Matt. If you’re buying this to share, and you can afford it, then it’s like giving people you care about a special gift, and that makes it worth the high price tag.
You could tell when first smelled and tasted it you were blown away and almost cried by the experience. I am thankful I was able to kind of experience it through you! Cheers Matt!
I saw one of these in Scottsdale AZ at Bourbon & Bones for a modest 1.2K a pour. I was impressed that the bottle was half full. This poor bastard did not order a pour! Cheers Matty another great review video!
Great review as always Matt…you mentioned King of Kentucky in your review- I’ve heard multiple times that Michter’s sources their Whiskey from Brown Forman….your thoughts?
Matt, you can feel how special this bottle is by you describing it. Thank you. Dan is awesome, absolutely love their channel. But he would not be able to convey the way this felt like you can. I think they made the right choice in sharing the passion of what a truely unique bottle can bring to someone. You hit it on the head. No bottle is worth $6k. But I would spend every cent I have to share that moment with people that matter to me. Congradulations on the experience to both you and Dan. Love you both. Thank you for doing what you do for the whiskey community.
Just Incredible, Whiskey is made for sharing with others, this is so amazing.... but if you knocked that over i'm pretty sure Julie & Dan would have sent you home in that box..snaps and all....just kidding they wouldn't but they'd never let you forget it and neither would the rest of us. So happy that everyone enjoyed it. Have a Wonderful Week Everyone and a Better Weekend.
I am so happy to see one of these open. I had my nose touching the screen as that will be the closest i will ever get to one of these bottles. Dan and Julie are such generous people
Great review WTWT, exactly what I expected. You can call me a fanboy or whatever, but I haven't had a Michter's product I didn't love. I haven't tried the 20 year or celebration unicorns, but I'm still hoping to one day...
I completely agree with you about the memories of sharing a good bottle. I have nearly 200 bottles in my collection (nothing like this though lol) and I have just a couple people that I have zero regrets about opening my good bottles for. Although I will NEVER get to taste this one, great review.
So with 7 barrels in involved in the blend and release of only 328 bottles.....and at $6000 a pop....sounds like at least Michter's will still have more to "celebrate" every now and again for a while.
Thank you for sharing this legendary review although this would've been a Greek tragedy if you knocked over that bottle. Thank the Greek GODs for allowing NO flabby arms HAHAHA. All kidding aside thanks to the LIKE'S and MATT for allowing us to view this masterpiece that most of us will never even see and share with friends! Great video /// PEACE
Nice. Would be amazing to try. I'm trying to figure out the math though. The card says they selected whiskey from 7 barrels total. But only 300ish bottles were made? Did they not dump the 7 barrels and just poured portions of them? These are the things my weirdo mind focuses on lol.
True to form Michters has an interesting take on transparency and accuracy. In the world of scotch you are required to label the bottle with the youngest whiskey in the blend. For 6+ grand I guess Michters didn't want to call this Celebration 10.
Dude, best ever video. You were - were - wereeeee exceptional. Yeah, that's it. Could this be what dreams are made of. Oh, I think you said that. Cheers.
I love seeing you get to nose and taste and score "the best whiskey you've ever had!" No apologies needed for the fact we'll never see one. It was just great to share the moment... And now we all have the goal of trying this!
@@stewlowry5167 Nothing because I'll open it. I'm not into holding bourbon to see if it appreciates. I get more pleasure from tasting unique bottles than making a dollar off them.
A cool bar near me got the only one in the state and they sold tickets to a dinner that included a pour and pictures with the distiller and whatnot. I just couldn’t justify the cost even though honestly it was a bargain given all that was involved. I watched the video opening the box and that was as close as I got.
After this review I’m sad that I didn’t just pay for the dinner. But also not sad because tasting something amazing I know I’ll never have again might be bittersweet.
I'm not sure any whiskey is worth $6000 MSRP for a bottle let alone more than that on secondary. Even the best stuff in the world is plentiful enough that it doesn't cost more than a couple thousand. Michter's charges too much.
Cool review and entertaining as always. Still… even though can afford a bottle like that easily, I got to the point where I could by NOT spending extravagantly. No whiskey or wine or Diet Coke is worth that kind of money, imo. Frankly, that kind of price is stupid and nothing more than showing off. Would I take it if it was gifted to me by Michters? Sure. Do I spend more than $500 on a bottle of anything? Nope. Not until I can find a way to write it off on my taxes. I don’t light stacks of $100 bills on fire either. To each their own - if others find this a worthwhile expenditure… we’ll, bully for them. I can find more value for my money or use that $6500 to generate a lot more. Lol. Glad you enjoyed your tastings of it, though; and it was certainly kind of the folks to provide it for you. Don’t they work for Michters in some capacity?
Sharing with friends is what it’s all about. I have had friends share BTAC and other great bottles, but whether it’s $6,000, $600, or $60, it’s the friends, the sharing, and remembering the good times shared! Thanks for the video Matt (and Dan and Julie).
Would say like 40% of these are opened because they're in on-prem locations but you're probably spending $600/oz and maybe only two pours are out of them.
I tuned in just to see whether Matt had the testicles to do a perilous, disrespectful high pour! 😅 Nope. He’d already sold one of them. Very, very, one might say too respectful pour. Also, he did not, as I do, lick the rim of the bottle to get those precious drops from the pour. I do that whether it’s WT101 or unicorns. Licking the rim is an acquired skill. 😊

The product works. Downed some during Kentucky trip last fall. No hangover.
