- Video shows the method I used to troubleshoot the cause of the service brake assist, service traction control, and service stabilitrak messages. The messages were accompanied by a check engine light, an ABS light, and a traction control light. The cause was a chaffed wheel speed sensor wire.

I am really blown away. God really talks threw us . Thank you so much. I came here for my impala and I got a passage suited for me. It made my wife cry . That is really crazy. What are the odds? I ended up here for abs lights and hear something so deep. A true sign.

Amazing Dave .. not that I could do this with out a mechanic .. my stabilitrc, ABS light came one after having Cadillac recall on my rear toe link something lol but my regular mechanic said he’s never seen the code that came up when he checked it 🤷🏼♀️

@@Samuel-710 I am having my transmission slip really bad and getting that same code.
@@opssteele3139 I replaced all my spark plugs and have been driving it for almost a couple weeks now and haven’t had anymore of the codes pop up and it’s been driving better, I believe the spark plug replacement did it for me.
I’m having the same problem just that on my 2013 impala it’s throwing c0035 and u1827 and I’m wondering if those 2 codes are together.
Interesting video. Thank you for the upload, I was never quite sure what does ribbon looking things were. Makes sense now. When turning right and going over a bump every now and again it feels like my passenger front brake kind of like pulses? Not sure if that makes sense. Wondering if the ABS module activated for a second as a result of the short
so when opening connector release lever, open it ALL the way 1/2 circle if you want connector to slide fully out., the EBCM connector has 7 rows of holes(3 noted). the top row are the tiny holes on top of black rectangle that don’t look like proper electrical holes but R, while middle row that do like like elec. connecter holes RNt🤔. the middle row is the lower row of top rectangle(that don’t loook like holes), & lower row is bottom black rectangle. as for you mr video creator, gr8 video, it turns out your pin#s also work, for at least 12 & 13 LT models as well, & your thE only 1 who has put this in a video!, (cudos chEf).. now Y didnt a resistance discrepancy show up for you? & how’d you fix it(for unknown duration) w/heat shrink? from other such videos you’d know, this is often an intermittent situation with Yr’s freying &/or breaking from heat. they brake on inside of actual rubber wire, not visible(& can be found & checked by gently folding wires & if 1+ turns at right angle it’s likely broke or nearly so) - & when you heat shrank it you attached it to itself again for unknown amount of time(could be 🖐 minuts, a kalpa, or anywhere inbetween) but if-reoccurs now you know where-how to fix it. as for all of us, 1st ohm test from plug to hub, proper resistance means hub-ABS’s probley ok, then replug & with ignition, or maybe even -terminal?, disconnected.. go to EBCM connector & continuitity check each circuit.. then, if they all APPEAR to be gud have some1 gently wiggle each wire while watching ohms. & IF NON-A-THAT works, don’t forget the recall that happened for 12-13s., && again if none of ALL THAT hupla wrks, don’t forget 2 Us the 4c, like mr video maker did.. & there-in fixed problem with a spare peice of heat shrink, & 1/10th of a cent of lighter fluid

Did your brakes go to the floor when the message came on ? My Yukon does this when driving and then the brakes won’t work , I turn it off and start it back up and it works fine but I don’t ride cars close because I never know when my brakes are going to give out, I also notice rpms reving more when I start to brake? Pls help
wow mine just came on after a slight bump. mind me asking what scan tool you used to find which sensor it was?
I did not use a scan tool, I just looked at the wires. I would start with the front ones.
I have a 2011 Chevy impala reduce power is on check engine is on It starts perfectly… I go into drive and my car moves but then it’s like the car isn’t responding to the wheels anymore not even in reverse I push the pedal and it’s nothing but I cut off the car and restart it it’s back working but it doesn’t last long I’ve changed the throttle body (this probably the shiniest part on the car now lmao ) and the acceleration pedal now but notice I was getting more response from the old pedal then the new one. What can be the issue it’s like a sequence with it having to restart it for it to only work but only for a couple seconds also my rpm be moving on it’s on

I just got one of these when I turn it on when cold there is a grinding but goes away as the rpm sets .
Also I hear a squealing on passenger side I already replaced the belt and the tensioner.
When i ever I apply pressure to gas pedal there is a slight squeaking upon acceleration.
You have any suggestions?

This is what my car is cursed with , replaced all wheel bearings rotars calipers pads power steering pump and hoses rack and pinion and rewired sensor and just came on again this morning ,2008 Impala SS , spent a kings ransom now I'm done with it !!!!

Im having a stabilitrak problem but my abs and my check engine light isnt on.
Have you checked to see if there are any diagnostic codes? Some codes don't set the lights.
I'm having this problem how much does this cost to repair
I changed my speed sensor reset battery and I still have the same problem. Message didn’t go away. What else is there to do??
I would check the wiring harness that goes to the EBCM (electronic brake control module). If there is a break in the wire , it will cause the same problem.
I have all the same lights on as well and my steering wheels is a little hard to turn ..

I had the same problem but pep boys said they fixed it, yet my traction control keep flashing when I accelerate and car hesitate
There must still be something shorting out.
When replacing ebcm does it need any programming?
I haven't had to do that, so I am not really sure. Sorry.
I have all of these lights on after replacing a hub assembly. The service stabilitrac was on prior but the service brake assist came on a few days after service. Both wheel speed sensor harnesses are just fine. Any ideas?
I had both tie rods replaced last year on my impala, the same day i got my car back i had the same issue , i never had this problem before, until my tie rods got replaced, service stablatrak , service brake assistant, now last week ive had chimes going off just because of this problem
@myfavorites1016 So I'm happy u replied. I took mine to the dealer and the ABS "pigtails" are bad. It would cost $900 to service. I bought the parts for about 120 and am gonna have someone install soon. I'll reply when I do! Let me know if you find anything else that works
@@johndenver7035oh ya a dealership is the worst place , ya labor rate here at dealership 157.10 an hour , nuts , im gonna have to set an appointment up this coming week for my annoying stablitrak , brake assistance, abs , but like i say , i DID not have this issue , UNTIL my tie rods were replaced last year , the same day i got my tie rods done , i had the abs alert sound , i ignored everything until just last week , i had constant chimes going off , mainly when turning my wheels to left or right , ya dealership is completely nuts , i go to my privately owned mechanic, very honest guys , 94.00 an hour , same great work, i had a battery go bad from dealership, yes i got the battery replaced by dealership, but dealership told me i only get the remaining 4 months left from original warranty, bunch of ballonie ,
My 2015 Impala I just bought is having this issue whenever I drive on dry ground, and/or if I hit a bump. I literally took it to GMC, the dealership I bought it from(3x) and now my actual mechanic, just tonight, and it's still happening. It also reduces my engine speed. Idk what else to do but I can't drive like that. It drives me insane!
A break in the wire anywhere between the wheel speed sensor and the brake module can cause this problem.
The wire connector harness in those are junk one located under the hood by the front drivers side strut mount I’ve had to add some electrical grease helped for a couple months finally ended up cutting connector out and soldering wires, but unplugging connector adding a little electric grease can help
I have the same problem. I have a 2014 limited Impala. It rides smooth the light turns off on his own. But sometimes when I stop or before I turn it stumples. You have any idea or suggestions? The video was helpful the verse was encouraging
Thanks for your comment. If you are getting those lights intermittently you probably need to trace the wires back to the module. It probably has a high resistance connection that goes open intermittently. I found a high resistance connection on the driver's side that had been repaired before I got it, but it wasn't water tight so the connection was corroded. I just cut out the bad connection and redid it. That fixed it.

My wire was separated from the connector to the hub. Do i need to replace the entire wire or can i replace the end?
If the rest of the wire is not corroded and the insulation is still OK you don't have to replace it. Just make sure to use some waterproof heat shrink tubing to keep water out of the wires after you join the new piece to the rest of the wire.
The traction control on my 2015 impala keeps engaging when accelerating from a stop...on dry pavement when there's no reason for it to engage. Any ideas?

Sorry, I haven't had that issue. It might be a bad wheel speed sensor on one or more of the wheels. The EBCM interprets that as the wheels that are showing greater speed are spinning and need to be slowed down for better traction.

Same thing on my 2013. Makes me so mad when it happens. Thing slips and makes a short little grinding noise

I'm having the same issue, brakes are new , swapped wheel bearings and it's still doing it , I'm going fucking crazy with this nobody seems to find out what's wrong with it..
@@mammager100 Try replacing the abs wiring harness, particularly on the passenger side in the front. I'm attempting this repair soon, with the exact same symptoms, so I'll let you guys know what happens.

Yep, that also occurred like trans was going, its def electrical issue,
2013 ls impala here. Service stabilatrack 1st cane on. Then service brake assist. Today traction control service, pulled over shut off,after 1mile only. Turned off traction control, engine light came on and door locks popped, gauges stopped functioning. Turned off, tried starting, nothing at all Popped hood, looked around, checked battery, fluids,and all seemed OK. Turned key and started, engine light remained on. Drove home 100 miles. Went to local mechanic, put scan on, have 7 codes fails, reset and some went away with engine light gone. Drives fine. Going back for brakes and further diagnosis. Any ideas!? So very weird
I would look for short circuits on the circuits associated with the codes that were setting. Mine were on the wheel speed sensor circuits, but sound like you have something else. You might have water getting onto the body control module if you are getting door locks and gauges acting up, but that is just a guess.
@@diywithdave3186 after talking to a mechanic friend who moved to California, both battery terminals had some corrosion and terminals slightly loose. He stayex it was very.common issue. So far no issue, but will be having mechanic look at soon for issue, and other service . Ty a lot for info!!
And its back! Intermittent engine light, same issues everything going whacko, i am going to look at wheel speed sensor and go from there. Also, right after rain its been acting up, so I believe its a moisture issue, I love this damn car, just turned 91000 miles,

No, I did not have any transmission related issues with this problem.
Mines did but went away havent came back in a month I think this car just cycles through error codes
I have an issue that's prob notbing never seen before so sometimes my car won't start and when it does it says service power steering when I drive it if it stops it shuts off and won't start up again the lights work the windows don't its a sometime thing had it in the mech 5 times no service lights ever came on changed starter..fuse.. alternation battery .... still have this prob from time to time....thinking about taking it to the chevy dealer and see what it is

@Heck Yes no I had a shortage on my battery connector right near the piece u put on the battery it was burned a little bit.. making my car to short cause it was getting the significant power

There are usually several things that can cause the engine power to be reduced. I would start by checking the diagnostic codes on the vehicle. Those usually give you a good place to start. If you search for the codes online there are usually videos or discussion forums that can tell you what the common causes are.
TPS acceleration position sensor is bad
Bad gas pedal
ACCELERATOR PEDAL & OR THROTTLE BODY, BOTH HAVE SENSORS THAT WELL MAKE THAT MESSAGE APPEAR. --- I REPLACED BOTH( MESSAGE STAYED) &**** FOUND OUT IT WAS A PIG TAIL TYPE WIRE HARNESS THAT WAS BAD(SENDING A LOOSE CONNECTION)** $40 PROBLEM👍 thank God.

I don't think a lot changed between the 2011 Impala and the 2014 Limited Impala's regarding the ABS system.
It is sad how they rob us with bs. Won't even last 50k miles. Mines saying the same thing, and every bump or hump my chevy shakes. No control driving it in the rain. Hou tx, any good mechs? Msg me
