Yep, high creepiness factor to these guys, good or bad and their mounts really brought that feeling home! Sectuars was a very short lived series, such is life. And at 7" tall, were they action figures or dolls?
These were awesome toys... I got Dargon and dragon flyer for christmas and a couple of the other figures when they hit big lots or clearance .... in the years since I have been pretty lucky finding a few at thirift stores or flea markets and they still hold up to anything made today in design an quality
Actually, a 5 part Sectaurs: Warriors of Symbion animated series exists. It was produced by Ruby-Spears Productions and aired from September 14th - October 12th, 1985. Arthur Burghardt (best known as the voice for Destro, Devastator, and Turbo from Challenge of the Gobots) provided the voice for General Spidrax and Spiderflyer.
Thank you very much for doing this video. I had one figure as a kid but now I am going to try to track them down. I'm on a huge Captain Power hunt now so this may be next. What a great concept, with the puppet feature. Thanks again.
I only had Skulk and Spidrax and their mounts, but they were so cool that I wanted the rest of them. Sadly, Skeletor had to make due with only two new recruits...
A cartoon in the 80's probably would have helped this line to some decent success. I had a few of these and especially General Spidrax and these were fun figures. One kid my Mom use to babysit was scared to death of the Spiderflyer.
I just got one of these on eBay that was non-functional. It was only the motor that had seized due to lack of use. Just needed to open it up and turn the gear for a few seconds while switched on. Retro Blasting did a video on this that was really helpful.
Duncan Gibb I was just about to comment about Retro Blasting's video for anyone who had the non-functioning wings problem and Lo and behold you beat me to it!
Great review! I disagree though that kids were afraid of these toys. Everyone I knew thought they were freaking awesome. Now our moms...that's another story.
The more I watch this stuff the more I realize how amazing my Mom is/was! I literally had everyone of these...except the Hive!!! Thanks Mom!

I was the one kid who was in love with this line. I had about half of them, including several deluxe ones. Didn't have the Hive, though.

Cool review! You got me subscribing!
great review for great toyline..
Sectaurs should be developed in video games, either in fighting games, RPG or total Wars style strategy games.
If only they had been made with four arms to hold all the weapons they came with they would have looked even cooler and had 6 insectoid limbs to boot!
perfect song chose
Hand-In Action!!
Searching the comics.
