+Cascaesque Hey send me a link of your video in which you are doing better. Would love to see it. Then consider that fact that this is one of my many videos and to judge me on it is extremely narrow minded. On top of that talking while playing is rather difficult because you have to divide your attention. Have a great day.
@@ThreeGuysOneBucket You can share knowledge on a game and not have skill, just like you can be very well studied on the mechanics and science of cars and the rules of the road and be "mediocre" at driving. FireSpark81's intentions seem to be sharing information, not providing "elite" gameplay, the gameplay is most likely a visual aid to the knowledge that is being broadcast.
One other note for the Beam Drill is the fact that, being a drill, you can pierce through terrain to get to something on the other side. Particularly nice for turrets where you can just go to one side of a wall and drill through the wall to melt them without them being able to shoot back.
the drill and other melee weapons repel away enemies on hit at the cost of having to point at those oncoming ones, but are a superior defense against those ramming ones the mining beam doesn't require any leading or tracking and the aim isn't altered by moving sideways in relation of the enemy projectile weapons require very good tracking or to stop/move slowly to reliably hit enemies, generally more fire rate is best to offset missed shots guided missiles require your enemy to be at a certain distance to have all missiles hit, they curve unpredictably, have small hitbox and don't take too long before they expire, fewer missiles are better so if only the central missile hits in the close range the damage isn't divided too much between the others. If you soley run guided missiles you'll find yourself taking forever to clear an encounter unless you move very carefully and pay a lot of attention on where your cursor is pointing exactly the seeking missile is basically "fire in the general direction" and it'll often hit the target if it isn't moving too fast, will track enemies behind corners
I find the missile weapons are impossible to use in space combat. You can handle anything on ground with the missile weapons, but in space I can never not use a high fire rate or brute force weapon. I find that having twin heavy Gatling guns is good for single target or small crowd control, and having both drone deployment weapons is the best possible crowd control
I haven't tried all the missiles/mines yet but so far my top pick has to be the starter drill+the highest dps I can fire in a straight line. Cleaning out T6 anomalies with the starter weapons makes for a nice sniper minigame :P
I use basic drill instead of shield drone to push away enemies from my mech and use decent damaging firing weapons available to clear out enemies. Ranged enemies you have to dodge from their projectiles though.
I understand that the main reason to use these arms is Convenience, but have you ever tried Energy rifle? It has tons of damage actually, and shooting speed is quite high for a "Sniper" rifle :D
Try dual wielding Homing Missile Mech Arms. They got splash damage, better fire rate than 1st spot and are better at crowd controlling, also the damage output is not bad, 225 x arm, doing 450 DPS, the're also semi-guided, allowing you to wither down opponents out of your field of view. Also since they're not tier 6 they consume a bit less energy per second, making it ideal to use on planet exploration as well as space encounters. Just use Gallant mech boosters and hold both mouse buttons pointing in the general direction of threats and 8/10 times you'll get to the target in almost no time without complications.
Personally, I find Spikefist Mech Arm to be the most useful for combat. Might be slow, but it hits pretty hard, passes through enemies allowing you to hit multiple targets, and boomerangs back giving it a chance to hit enemies a second time.
Spike fist is amazing. If you're using a 3/5 booster that favors speed, it's way harder to hit multiple guys. But if you use a 4/4 or a 3/5 that favors maneuver, you can hit things a lot easier with it. Does so much damage that it's worth learning. I'm pretty sure it does the most damage of any weapon, and has a lot of neat tricks. For example, if your enemies are behind a girder, you can fire the fist and then float downward, so the fist's return is blocked by the girder. It'll keep bouncing against the girder, hitting the enemy for its enormous damage every pop. Spike fist is really great like that.
+ShirtyScarab554 yea swords do tons of damage but you have to click so much. If you could just hold down the buttons and attack they would have been on the list. I hate spam clicking.
FireSpark81 I personally find clicking useful because it helps me keep the attacks spread out enough so that the hostile can't get near you, kind of like a makeshift shield, definitely a better shield than what's currently in game for the mech.
I cleared tier 6 areas using the basic mech because i'm a cheap bastard. Those starting cannons have perfect accuracy and make me able to knock any opponents back when they come at me. I'm disappointed to see these expensive weapons be so bad.
The advanced weapons are pretty underwhelming. But some of them - spike fist especially - do a lot of damage when you get the timing down. Tesla coils are good for killing the bots who leave the trail of energy dots, since they fire extremely fast. That's what I'm sporting right now and the tier 6 anomalies and hostile ships are no problem now. I'd recommend a bot with a lot of maneuverability when using the spike fist, though. At least 4 bars. You have to exploit angles to hit multiple guys at once. So if you're using a 3/5 booster that favors speed, spike fist won't be as good.
Tbh I find that the best method for me is to use the laser rifle and the laser mine beam, I find that if I can draw a few enemies and then take them out, I do really well
I use the swarm drone and beam drill. The beam lets me all most never miss like with the agasault gun and the swarm drones make it so if something does get close they pelt it. As long as you keep the drones up you can forgo def for energy.
Part of me wants to say you should do a new list but then I remember the only really notable mech weapon that’s been added is the laser arm and katana which could just be 1 and 2
Huh, I've been rocking the cannon mech arm and the guided missile launcher. I was considering upgrading the cannon to the energy rifle arm, but now I might just build another missile launcher. Eh, I'll build the energy rifle anyway. For Science!
Imo the rifle isnt that good. The projectile is pretty slow for a rifle, and since it only shoots 1 shot and has a long delay between shots its really hard to hit things with it.
I dont know if the flak canon have uper tier part, but if they have they will be the best to be hones, i have 2 on my mech(the normal ones) and they are realy efective, do a very nice damage, and they are very usefull a long range, i hope they have a better tier option to get, but i need to do more research for that :D (i dont use the god mode XD)
Tbh the swarm drone arm is lowkey overpowered. They deal damage, can take hits, and there are just so many of them. Just one arm is enough to get you through most situations, and two is straight up overkill. Pair it with a drill or a primary weapon, and you got yourself a good all-rounder mech.

The missile weapons are complete shit at point-blank range. And the split shot should have been named flak. The flak weapon is nothing at all like flak. It's just a basic cannon.
"this is a perfectly viable option" *dies in three seconds. "Here's another reliable option." *dies in two seconds.
+Neil Friske I was in a very high threat area. Some of these options are better suited for lower threat areas. Pretty sure I state that in the video.
You suck so hard at this game, you really aren't qualified to be making these sort of tutorial videos.

The swarm thing that leaves bullets trails are very easy to counter, just stand still and watch them be a goof around you.
They aren't meant for one on one combat, they are meant to drive you back at the really damaging enemies.

I have over 10x my daily dose of video goodness
+Dragonslaier165 OH god! You're gonna OD! Slow down!
FireSpark81 NEVER
Dual swords and dual tracking missiles shred through stuff if you use it wisely.

I've settled with the drone swarm and the blade. The drone swarm deals with those far away, anything that gets too close gets sliced like cheese.
Top 8, then he says " the shield drone mech arm, now the reason this is number 10" xD
The amount of thought put into this video is Incredible
Honestly, the mech feels like kirby: Planet Robobot.
Someone should totally make a mod that had the Robobot armor mech with all its abillities as different arms.

I legit might want to do that now.

I wish there was a 3xspeedup

This was less about weapons and more about strategy, I really just wanted a video that showed the amount of dmg each weapon did.
Part of me wants to say you should do a new list but then I remember the only really notable mech weapon that’s been added is the laser arm and katana which could just be 1 and 2

"The reason this is number 10-" 0:38
Close enough.
+Elire 8 I meant 8
Its not really that hard, you can just take it a bit slower and deal with only 2 enemies at a time.
I love the energy rifle. Once you get used to it, you can snipe things ez
Spike fist, man. Spike fist. Hard to use but once you get the timing down, really does a ton of damage.
mynameisrocket i
Space whale needs to be in this update
+Your Typical Animator omg someone mod that now!
Yeah, just use frackin' and you'll have the anihilator the size of your ship that well, annihilates anything in front of it.
This video really helped me thanks
do best weapon combinations next!
How about Top ## Mech Arm Combinations? Just using those alone wouldn't compare to combos imo.
+Cheeseboy157 You would think but in testing I found using two of the same is far better than mixing and matching.
ah... well that makes sense.
my spiral drills pierces the heavens.
I dont know if the flak canon have uper tier part, but if they have they will be the best to be hones, i have 2 on my mech(the normal ones) and they are realy efective, do a very nice damage, and they are very usefull a long range, i hope they have a better tier option to get, but i need to do more research for that :D (i dont use the god mode XD)
valorel1982 Plasma cannons are a better version of the flak since they fire similarly and deal more damage.
Heat Rifles my dude.
In one of the teasers it showed a gatling gun sort of thing, how is that one?
It's actually one of the better weapons.
Sniper is just overpowered. It's basically got a 100% hit chance. It's still really fun to use though.
am i the only one who keeps getting the same boring blueprints?
Tbh the swarm drone arm is lowkey overpowered. They deal damage, can take hits, and there are just so many of them.
Just one arm is enough to get you through most situations, and two is straight up overkill.

17min ????
what
They should add heat seekers or target seekers
Homing Missile Launcher Arm.
this is good: exploded in action
I'm a lazy one so I'm going for shield drone then attack drones... and just move around space
PS:SWORD IS BESTTTTT
I KNOW
"unless i dont get into the files" ... how about you just use the wiki?!? -.- ....
how did u get the mech station in ur base?
+Fluffy - Spawn commands.
Is it possible to do custom mech parts with the commands?
+Lynx Canadencis T.C says nope
Oh that's sad ;-;
I hope they'll make it possible in the future updates
+Lynx Canadencis I don't think modding them will be hard.
Yeah, maybe the only thing we need is time
Someone has to make a mod that add the Robobot armor, and each abillities are different arms.
im just going to get a jetpack mod and use my character to kill things
Have fun with that, enemies in space have 1000+ health, and deal 300+ damage on the highest teir
Shields are pointless
Say this To my Neo Chainsaw.
Do the mech attachments recolor depending on the body?
Theres 2 buttons you can press to change primary and secondary colours. Stuff like glow cant be coloured though
1 have #4 really early game :)
i also got #2 early game
Jeroen Pas op met dat Vuur
Me to! Also fellow dutchie here ;)
to be honest i prefer xs and zz mech mod the mech are beautifully made
I was kinda hoping for something... sleeker than what we got. these "mechs" need to go on a damn diet!
tru lol
In your next custom creations video you need to see if you can make custom mech weapons, legs, or really anything on the mechs :P
Zach Attack Custom spawnitems don't work on mechs due to the way they're set up.
darn
Hasn't this only hit the unstable update?
+Africanclaw yup
then why already making a list if all the content of the video is subject to change?
+CDgonePotatoes it won't change that much. I really doubt they will add new arms.
FireSpark81 you should make a starbound 1.3 video for those of us who don't want to play unstable
Say this to my lua modded white van mecha
Still waiting for the ps4 port T.T
My best mech weapon is on the ZZ Tau
sorry but on that first run you were pretty dogwater man
I just destroyed a village with two beam drills
Haha
I love his intro 10/10👌
Sounds like daily dose of internet
Me: *Grabs two blueprints
*Happen to be split shot and guided rocket
*Crafts guided rocket
*Closes starbound
*Goes on youtube
*Open this video
*First watch the split shot on the top
*Regrets crafting the rockets
*Loses hopes
*Feels like HEAVEN OPENS ITS GATE FOR ME AGAIN
*:D
*Goes on comments
*Write this comment
*Prepare pistol and forehead
Karlo Bistrički next day i duscovered admin mode and commands ;)
Mmmm... You're not that good at mech combat. I have to be honest.
You try commentating and playing at the same time. Then post a video of it and we can compare.
I didn't mean to be rude, I was just saying.
@@Firespark81 well you suck at it deal with it UA-cam boi
My opinion is play CS:GO
my opinion is most FPS' suck
CS:GO just blows donkey dick cause of all the hackers and 64 tick lag. Plus valve doesn't give a shit, they have steam to worry about.
Vividly I bet you he's gonna play it
Joel Sinclair CS:GO is the worst of all because it has an actual learning curve compared to any game ever
learning curve: point shoot hold a button to plant/disarm bomb once in a while
The missile weapons are complete shit at point-blank range. And the split shot should have been named flak. The flak weapon is nothing at all like flak. It's just a basic cannon.
