I bought my (new) John Deere 2305 TLB back in February of 2009. Just prior to that, I had driven about 60 miles from home to test drive an unsold Kubota BX-25 'leftover' that the Kubota dealer had available. The paint was faded out on the tractor, the tires were weather-checked, and the hydraulic hoses were showing signs of age (sun damage), along with the steering wheel, instrument cluster, and seat. That tractor had obviously sat unsold for at least two years in the California 'Central Valley' sun.
I decided to go ahead and operate the tractor, so I fired it up and drove it out back of the dealer's, where they had a small field for testing. The first thing that I noticed as I drove the tractor towards the field was excessive gear-whine...it sounded like a nest of angry bees was under the tractor.
I found the controls for the back hoe & loader to be jerky, even when 'feathering' the controls. This was not one of Kubota's best units.. it should have never left the factory with those issues. That's possibly why it hadn't sold. I made them an offer ($2K under their price) on the tractor, and they declined. When they called me a week or so later to accept my offer, I told them that I had bought a new John Deere 2305 TLB.
Kubota vs.John Deere is the same as the Ford vs. Chevy thing...everyone is entitled to his own opinion.
I still own the JD 2305 TLB, and have never looked back since acquiring it. I like my John Deere's, and my brother swears by his Kubota. Thank you for your time....
Camera operator needs to cut down on the coffee . . . very jittery! Also get up close to see the mounting of the pins and the plugging of the hoses.
How much for the backhoe attachment ?
How about showing up close how to first backup to align up the tractor, cause it takes me an hour to get that back on.
Engine starts, runs and sounds exactly like my Kubota. Interesting.

Twelve guys gathered together to repair a community park after a storm. Six showed up in Orange and six in Green. The leader said "You 6 in orange units, form a semi circle around the work area because we don't have any safety cones. The six Green (JD) tractors can do the actual work. :-) [A good natured joke., Kubota's are good too. Just not my choice.]

First off, that tractor is too small for both the loader and backhoe. I saw one a company bought in my area with those items on a tractor about that size and the tractor broke in half. They left it sitting near the street where everyone could see it as to say don't get this. I love the easy hookup, but you need a larger tractor than that one.
Sounds like you never ran one then.

Best selling don't mean the best, and I own two John Deere tractors, but would not buy one that small though. I had to check that tractor out later, and the funeral home who owned it was upset to see this happen to their tractor. The tractor is not all all steel, and the metal had a defect in it.

John Deere are bad tractors. I would not waste my money on John Deere. Their like a 2 year tractor, I can spend money on a other tractor and get 10 years out of it.

i as you can you get a part for another make of tractor in 24 hrs and are other makes parts easy to fit

t in the past ive run 3 jd s all with good performances but if you only run one grass cutter on one job any tractors will do ! my bussines requires 7 days a week use 14 hour day and one machine in the workshop would cost me money and jobs that the reason why only buy john deer gear because it will run and work the hours we required and the parts are all way in my hands the next day !
