Again, im beating a dead horse, I love Tekton tools but they have cranked their prices up so much, so fast that I can't justify their prices anymore. They do have a great warranty and I guess that is what you are paying for, but 6 years ago I purchased a full set of sockets 1/4 - 1/2 for half the price they ask now.
I bought their chrome 1/4 master set in the case in 2017 for $29 it’s now $90. It’s worth $30 not $90. You can get the same set from HF Quinn for around $30 with coupons. I still use the tekton daily so I can’t complain about the quality but the price is insane when there’s other companies that sell the same set for a 1/3 of the price. Even their ratchets are pricey I got the tekton and gw xp 120 and 95% of the time reach for the GW and their less money by far.
@@robertomilanecky so true, I do like their ratches,, but you said it, there's other manufacturers out there now that cost less and are equally good. These days, any Taiwanese made socket or ratchet is going to stand up to 99% of what you throw at it as long as you are using the right tool for the job. I agree the quinn line at HF is just as good and the warranty is excellent as well.
I get the prices but they are still very competitive. Also feel like that sometimes but they are also bringing alot of new tools in and manufacturing to my state as well so I don't mind paying a little more as I see more and more USA made tools from them. Hopefully sockets and regular wrenches will be next to be USA made
Sadly, costs have increased throughout the economy… raw materials, fuel, import costs, wages, health benefits. All of these increases are passed on to the end consumer 😢
The comments about Tekton sockets are spot on. I have 3 sets of their impacts, and they've served me very, very well. With the no skips, I know I'll be covered when I reach for a set
I bought just about every chrome socket Tekton sells. 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive. Deep, shallow , 6 and 12 point. All on locking storage trays with no skips. I think all of that was around $600.00. Very comprehensive set. I have no complaints at this point. If I win Jeff, I want the Capri ratchets. I love everything I have gotten from Capri. The Tekton ratchets I own are okay, especially for the price. Enjoyed your video.
There are a lot of products from tekton that I really like. I think their chrome sockets are the best Taiwanese chrome sockets on the market, hands down. I also really like their warranty and how simple it is. I can't stand their ratchets though. I think they are absolute trash. They are quite pricey for such shitty ratchets too lol. Great video as always Jeff 👍
Hi Victor you pretty much summed it up,they have good and bad like most brands do!!! i hate there pliers!! never crazy about there screwdrivers!! ratchets some i like, some i hate!! there comfort grip ratchets i dont like ethier!!!
I have the Tekton combination wrenches, SAE and metric and they feel great. I believe Tekton has really great socket master sets - they look comprehensive with what you need if you are working tools. I will be finding an excuse to get my hands on their hard handled screwdrivers (old Snap-on clones). Jeff again thanks for sharing.
I started with almost all tekton and have since sold half of everything I started with. Solid company with alot of perks but quickly realized alot of other brands I enjoyed using more.
I have some Tekton (wrenches and sockets) and they're OK. I've seen less than stellar reviews for some of their products. My first Tekton product is a magnetic parts tray (Bowl) that I got probably 20 some years ago as a gift from one of my kids.
I have some Tekton. They are so so with great warranty. Standouts include outlet tab, mini pry bar set, stuby wrench, individual tools, and tool organizers.
Tekton socket sets in the plastic cases kick ass for portability. Impact sockets have held up well. Their big master sets of wrenches have held up well and were a good value. Screw and nut driver sets were a winner and I love the grips. Crowfoot wrench sets are good and I love the holders they come with.
I just bought the no skip set of Tekton 3/8 sockets, shallow and deep on the locking rail tray. It’s due to arrive in two days, and im pretty excited to see it.
I own a complete chrome set 1/4,3/8 and 1/2 sockets and rachets, wrenches and even a lot of their pliers. Absolutely love them. I try to buy as much as MADE in USA tekton tools. Their warranty is great.
@@jefftovani5535 I am just a DIY-er enthusiast, not a professional. That being said, if anything breaks and I have to warranty a product, the process is simple. Email with a photo and they respond quick. I do not have to drive anywhere to exchange it or wait for a tool truck. Everything you mentioned in your video was pretty accurate. They have a great product line with a great amount of pro's with limited con's.
Currently, 90% of my box is Tekton. the rest is older stuff handed down from my Dad/Grand father, and Harbor Freight (Pitsburg, Icon, Qwin)... Love my Tekton stuff, and has never let me down...
Nice collection of Tekton tools. In addition to the warranty they offer credit towards future purchases. It's too bad the pliers get rusty in the humidity but so do Snap-on pliers at three times the cost. Thanks for the review Jeff!
Tekton’s been great for me. Bought a couple of crowfoot sockets… I accidentally ordered the wrong size in one, and the return process was super easy. Even though it was my bad, they didn’t give me a hard time. Good tools too!
Have bought the mini pick/pry set, long hard handle screwdriver set, 1/4 inch sockets set, and multiple 3/8" drive master bit sets and rubber mallet. Good bang for the buck if you keep them lubed to prevent rust. Like you Jeff, I'm not loyal to one brand and usually spend time on Amazon and look for Specials deals on quality tools. Rusting on one bit set and rising prices keeps me from buying more from Tekton!
Thanks bryce for joining in!! There prices are rising a little to fast i think for some people to accept!! lots of great options in this price range!! thanks bryce!!
Love me some tekton but the prices have me looking at other options. Glad I got most of what I wanted early on. I have the master 1/4 and 3/8 socket set I was going to get the 1/2 but when I saw the price and went with the Quinn for $105 with a coupon.
Why would you update tools? Does the steel get old and soft? Do the sockets change shape? The screw drivers shrink? I still use tools I purchased in the 60s. No problem. All of my SAE sockets are from 1962. Guess what, they still work. Same with the ratchets, extensions, etc. lots of tool boys out there. Have tons of sparkling tools that are so clean because they are never used.
I tend to agree, I love all of my sockets from tekton, the screwdriver sets . I have both prefer hard handle. Just hand feel preference they both work great. The ratchets are phenomenal! I still have nearly a full set of USA craftsman combos.
The handle color almost looks "Lang-ish". Tekton is a name that has come up the ranks in recent years. The VW Karmann Ghia was what I used to call a "lowboy toilet bowl". It sure looks like (and has the quality of) one.
Another nice collection. The only Tekton I have is a set of metric triple square bits. I use a couple of them almost daily and they have held up very well.
Hi Jeff. I bought the 12 pt 3/8 drive sockets from Tekton. Very nice. Sitting here in Fl waiting for hurricane Milton. Can you do a kayak give away? All tools I buy now, first thing is Boeshield T-9 spray down. They don't protect new stuff at the factory any more.
Got the Capri long handle ratchets and love them. Been wanting to get the 3 piece short ratchets set. One way to be picked the winner next week is to order those ratchets before next Friday. 😅😅
Nice collection. So i have the same take as some others. Their tools are nice, and its still under cutting the big names. Still has a fantastic warranty. But their prices have come up.
Hey Mr Jeff been a bit I got caught up doing corn on the farm. Nice video just used some tekton sockets today definitely need to buy more. My snap on pliers rust and they cost a lot more is unfortunate tools that rust tho
Hello my friend, good to see you in the comments!! yea i hate when tools rust, always drives me nuts!! thanks for supporting the channel my friend, take care!!
I only have the Tekton hand Impact driver, so thats my only experience with them. From reading all the comments, apparently the prices have really increased. Those pliers would tick me off. Thanks Jeff, those Capri ratchets are fantastic.
Manny their warranty is fantastic!! take a picture of the broken tool with your phone, send them a e-mail with the picture, they send you a new tool in a few days,no questions asked!!!
I wanna grab the tekton impact sockets because theyre 6-32 and have a great warranty, as well as their combo wrenches and small body ratchets. I wamna know how their new small bodies compare to Tone, of which i have neither currently.
I like the Tone small body ratchets over the Tekton!! they feel better in my hand and the heads is slighty smaller!! but Tekton small body ratchets are nice!!!!
Tekton has two grades of tools these days (imho), those made in Taiwan and those made in China and other places. Those made in Taiwan are their first line, others are DIY grade. The prices on Taiwan have gone up in price dramatically, hence, the "budget line" made in China or elsewhere. I've never liked their wrenches, their ratchets, extentions and sockets in my experience are only good products they manufacture and that's only if of Taiwan manufacture.
I like to use coconut 🥥 oil like the - Hawaiian Tropic tanning oil - brand That you can pick up from Walmart. It smells good doesn’t stain stuff, if you get it on your skin, it’s no big deal And it works well on knives especially if you end up using those knives to cut food at least your not putting motor oil into your food 😅
I bought the tekton combo wrench set for less than $40 in 2016. The same exact set cost $100 today. Kinda disgusted at how expensive decent tools have gotten.
I have a 3/8 Tekton socket set as my vehicle set since 16 it's great and cemented Tekton as my go to brand for value sockets and wrench sets for gifts but Ive watched their prices double over the last year or 2 for the same tools. They aren't bad value now per se but I think you can get better tools for the money. I know everything is more expensive now but i wonder what happened to cause their prices to go up so much compared to similar brands?
I own a few Tekton tools, the mini pry bars, 1/4 metic set/w ratchet and parrot pliers. I had a set of 3/8 impacts but I sold them due to I had way to many impact sets😅.
I like some of their items as well. I'm not as huge a fan as you of their chrome sockets. They feel light and cheaper than say a gear wrench or even Icon. The impacts I like. The bit sockets are fine and the ratchets are top notch. I had a set of the torx screwdrivers with the black oxide finish and they rusted in no time. Wasn't impressed. Pick and choose for now and hope they find a better steel for the pliers and black screwdrivers. Warranty is just like you say...top notch.
Tekton where to begin. I absolutely love the quality on all their tools. But in the last 2 years their prices have skyrocketed. I have their angle wrenches. And I lost my 1 1/2 and I’ll be damned if I buy it now. I’m so upset how much the prices have gone up. But other than that I can’t complain.
Hi chris i hear ya about thier prices!!! i started buying Tekton tools 2011!!! nobody knew about them!! they were so cheap to buy!! the quality really suprised me!! now there to high,i think anyway!!! thanks for checking in and sharing that with the channel!!!

Hello again, Jeff Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I enjoyed watching today's video. I don't currently own any of Tekton tools. I 've about their warranty. How easy is the process to get a tool warranty? Thank you for letting me know about the corrosion issue on the pliers. Are there any other tools from Tekton that have that issue? I have tekton
Hi bobby thanks for joining in and sharing that with the channel, stay tuned more good things coming!!!
Those many pry bars look kool. Looks like I need to order them.
There not bad, george!! thanks for taking a gander!!!
To combat rust on steel, periodically give them a light coat of motor oil.
Thanks george for the suggestion!!!
I like to use coconut 🥥 oil like the - Hawaiian Tropic tanning oil - brand
That you can pick up from Walmart.
It smells good doesn’t stain stuff, if you get it on your skin, it’s no big deal
And it works well on knives especially if you end up using those knives
to cut food at least your not putting motor oil into your food 😅
Oh and I just fill up a little squeezable dropper bottle.
Lasts for a long time. 👍
Thank you Sir
Thank you george!!!!
I've got that small body 3/8 ratchet, its awesome.
Thanks pete for joining in and sharing!!

I looking for thin head ratchet wrench for very little room to take bolt out I use almost daily
Hi shep it hard to find thin head ratchet wrenches!! my black hawks are one of the smaller ones out there!!!

Hello again, Jeff
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I enjoyed watching today's video. I don't currently own any of Tekton tools. I 've about their warranty. How easy is the process to get a tool warranty? Thank you for letting me know about the corrosion issue on the pliers. Are there any other tools from Tekton that have that issue? I am looking forward to Friday's video to enter the contest 😀 Again thank you 👌
Hi george thier warranty is great!! take a picture of broken tool with your phone, send it to them in a e-mail,youll get a new replacement in a few days!!! most of there tools are good, just dont care for their pliers!!! stay tuned!!
Please pick me
Thanks for checking in,good luck to you in the drawing!!
Looking to update tools and u are very informative about tekton. I am currently leaning that way
Thanks tom for checking in!! im glad i could help!!!
You should still buy Tekton, there coming out with some good stuff. And more of there tools are USA made than most brands minus Snap on and Mac.
All there punch and chisels , some wrenches , hammers and picks
Yea they have a long list of tools, thats for sure!!! thanks Bill!!
