+Gavin Everitt Ive unfortunately adopted the attitude of "fuck letting busses pull out" some of the time, mainly because on my routes they stop inconsiderably at almost every stop with their arse end sticking out so no traffic can pass. This causes massive tailbacks in rush hours, especially when its the school busses with lots of kids getting on. Its a big problem that can be easilt solved by them pulling up alongside the curb rather than diagonal across the road.

I actually feel so sorry for that younger boy it's embarrassing enough to be in the wrong while crossing the road and then have a total stranger shout at you when they nearly just run you over 😕
In the end the driver wasn't in the wrong.
I'm going to break my rule of ever starting a sentence with "the government should..." but the government really needs to do something about the standard of driving in this country.
They keep saying "speed kills" but it doesn't. It's just an easy way of scamming money out of motorists who are concentrating on the road and go a few mph over the limit... not crazy over. And mainly on behalf of the car insurance racket.
But speed doesn't kill, stupidity is what kills.
But it's not as simple as putting speed cameras and snapping. You have to catch them in the act.
I say the driving test needs to be much harder than knowing a few rules from the Highway Code and being able to turn a steering wheel.
Yeah. I got done for 34 in a 30 because of having to speed up going past a bus that just pulled out, there was a car coming the other way and would have been fine, had it not been for the wanker driving the bus. Fucktards like these idiots really wind me up, as they get away with dangerous driving. Grrrrrr 😬

Thing is going back some 20 years, I would say cars were not as advanced as what they are now therefore, drivers had to be more skilful, were generally more careful and considerate, standards of driving etc were just better. That was with the usual basic test.
As a result I think the driving test is just OK. On today's roads, ultimately I would say its a mentality and an attitude issue that makes such motorists drive with such a lack of common sense, care and deliberately take risks and drive into conflict. Once people pass, they do what they want and many know and are aware of some of the deliberate acts they do. Hardly anyone does or considers advanced training such as a IAM, ROSPA, Performance days etc. When people see police cars, they stop doing stupid stuff like driving 6 inches from the car infront, speeding, change lanes with more care, do not cross 3 lanes of motorway in one dangerous swoop to take an exit etc.
Absolutely agree on the speed thing. Nothing wrong with speed, under the correct conditions and in the right hands.

Sure if every driver could drive perfectly it wouldn't be an issue, but the energy imparted in a collision increases by velocity squared, so massively increases chances of fatalities. There's also no getting around peoples varying reaction times, so limiting speed is an easy to implement method of reducing risk.
+Oliver Mayo Agreed, mostly because of adrenaline! I drove 200KM in Germany on the autobahn a few weeks ago and it was pretty early in the morning and I was quite tired! >100MPH I was absolutely wide awake and focused but when the speed dipped down to 60 odd for a few miles I started yawning again..! Also, people driving underneath the speed limit sometimes feel they have this bubble of self righteous invincibility around them, they must have given some of the stupid things they do.. ;)
+Yoda on DMT The ACPO regulations for traffic officers (not fixed cameras) is 10% +2 - you will never get a police car or van stopping you or giving a ticket for going "a few mph over the limit" - on a motorway you would have to be doing 80 before police will stop you and likely as not, get away with that as there will be someone doing 90, even after that, many forces will offer speed awareness courses up to about 85 in a 70. It's not and never will be a tax or a scam as you can always avoid it by sticking to the speed limit.

I would have pulled the cop over and had him arrested and had him charged by his superior with "driving without due, care and attention" and possibly "dangerous driving" too.

1:40 thats Ashford in Kent, I've seen LOTS of people spin on those roundabouts in the wet. I wonder whats different in the tarmac there.
I live there and use those 2 roundabouts everyday. Even in wet I don't understand how people can't go round them without incident. Though the slip road by asda is always fun with idiot drivers

im doing my lessons at the moment and am about to do my test and i love watching videos like this. It prepares me for what to expect on the roads. On one of my lessons i had an idiot rush out infront of me round a round about. Didn't even look. Scared me half to death. I hit the brakes and all was good but watching these videos helped alot as when i saw he i was expecting him to do it. Now while im driving i just think to myself "Everyone is an idiot" and im always prepared to giveway to idiots lol. Hopefully going on to fully driving that should prepare me for the roads lol

Watching the traffic car clip , i think he did leave enough room for her , but the moral is don`t get alongside any vehicle on rounder bouts or two lanes that merge . Funny you say that. I live in Warwickshire and cover a lot of miles up and down the m40, m1, m6, m69 however last monday I went down to Maidstone. Ive never seen so many/been involved in so many near misses ever. Literally the second I got off the m25 onto the m26 it was like everyone was just on a death wish.
