I love the best buy guides and look forward for more. One recommendation though, I would specify at the top of each articles that more options are available and working with Homey and add a link to the community
Hi guys! Once again a realy great podcast! Also a big thanks for the answer on my question about the permissions. The solution with kiosk mode with a dashboard I would say is very much what I'm looking for 🙂
Hey guys, nice podcast, a question for the next one, when your are thinking about to allow use the HomeyOS as a docker to allows us to run it on a more powerfull device, under a lifetime license or something, or providing a kind of homey bridge pro that can be used via ip or usb to allow the homeyos access to zigbee, zwave, thread, etc.
Make it possible to Group Homey script to make a better overview over all the script. Add the link to the "Release note" in the Update section, for the Web application and the Mobile application. Make it possible to add People to the "Family & Guest list", without to send a "Invite to Homey" (It could be for Childen or Guest) , so you can use this persons in Flows.
Really nice content! What comes to Matter as a consumer I have nothing against Matter-through-hubs. I think it's actually a great and hassle-free way to integrate. I see myself having a number of sub-hubs in the future and Homey controlling everything through Matter
It would also be nice if you could have large notifications appear on the dashboard. For example, when the washing machine is finished, the garbage is being collected or someone is at the door. With a setting that the notification disappears automatically or only goes away when you click 'Read'. Is that a possibility for the future?
Emile, are you likely to allow modification of the “cards” or “tiles” used to display logic variables so their size can be changed to display all content, or characteristics of the card can be changed dependant on the content. E.g. change its colour.
Great podcast guys. I do actually have a question that was not discussed and I came accross this . Why there is no "hide device" option in homey? This is such basic thing and jet, there always need to be category with "not to be used" devices in the app :)
How much effort and time would it take for Homey to add support for November 7th's release of Matter 1.4? Do you foresee that Matter changes potentially are compatibility breaks to the way how the Homey software is architected?
Couple of wishes for the best buy guide: DIN relays like for example Frient DIN relay. And also hydronic underfloor controllers like Danfoss Icon2 that can directly integrate through Zigbee 3.0.
Love the podcast. Using the buying guide a lot. Cool that you guys like the engagement on the forum. I was always a lurker but really was looking forward to the dashboard release. I was even looking in the meantime to HomeAssistent but since it was announced I waited. Dino is a good guy. But is the logo on his shirt made by editing? :-) Please send him real merch ;) I’m a happy user. Would love one more future: giving specific sizes in a grid way to the dashboard. And also know that there are more users then you think that like to put an iPad to wall (comment to the previous podcast). Keep up the great work guys! ps: I really like that you guys don’t add affiliate links in the buyers guide. I’d expected it but love that you don’t do it. Feel honest. But add an option, like a toggle switch, that if we want to support Homey we can buy through your affiliate links. But no on default. That be cool and I would buy through your links if it’s not forced.
Dino, Have you thought of doing window openers? E.g. motorised winders to replace the mechanical winder that pushes out a chain connected to the window and levers it open.
In the Android app, there is this item on top of the devices tab called Climate. I really like this concept, where I can select the devices that are used to show an aggregation of chosen data points - in the case of Climate I can chose the devices that provide temperature and humidity information and the item shows the average data. What I would like to see as a feature is ability to create such "items" where I can select devices to aggregate data from, and call them the way I like. The dashboard would be a perfect place to have such items/widgets available. First thing I would do is to create an item for outside devices, so that I can get average temperature outside of my house.
Merge the Developer Tools with the Web application, so it is possible to have a separate section for the Developer Tools inside the Web application. Or make a link to the Developer Tools inside the Web application, to access the Developer Tools.
I have an Alexa Echo Show 15 on the wall. The only thing I can access from it is the Homey web interface. I created a new dashboard using my phone app. Is it true that dashboards are only accessible using the native phone / tablet apps? If so, when will you add the web interface support? If not, when will you add the homey app to Echo Show app store?
With the best buy guides, could you add a country designation, where we can search for Homey compatible products that will be available in our country? For example, with light switches, in the US, (and Canada?) Zooz switches and dimmers are popular, as well as Jasco. Plus Jacso switches and dimmers come in various flavors such as GE, Honeywell and UltraPro, as well as switches and dimmers that are zwave, zigbee and wifi. These products may score well in our region, v/s how the products are rated now. Thanks in advance for giving this some consideration.
BlueStacks to emulate Android on Windows is what Homey suggests as a workaround BUT it is a workaround that has a lot of downsides. Many already requested a Web interface for Dashboards on the Homey community but it looks like more votes are needed if you want it
Thanks for these inspiring podcasts! Will we be able to interact with the Dashboard via Homey automation? Can we display the connected doorbell's video stream and related buttons after a Homey trigger?
Talking about Thread and Matter. I have just bought the new Google TV Streamer. It works as a Thread border router with Matter. I have connected it to my Homey Pro 2019 as a Chromecast device. But will also function for connecting Thread/Matter devices to Homey?
I have been trying to use the Aqara Presence censor FP2 in Homey. When it works it is very usefull. And it did work for some time integrated with the HomeKit Controller app. But one day it stopped working. I have had a dialog with the developer, but no solution. Will there be support for this sensor or other presence sensors?
Idea: ability to click on the App or Homey OS upgrade notifications that can easily link to change log. I check each update to see what is added or broken.
OTA would be great, but with matter it might not matter. Some might not want to have 2 hubs and think that defeat the purpose of having a homey. But now when matter works and I think you should work on improving support for matter devices instead of OTA. For example you can have the IKEA dirigera hub and IKEA products, then connect them with the manufactures hub for the OTA but use Homey as the central command for all the fancy Flows you can imagine. So home controls all the other hubs via matter. Then you get both OTA and the advanced functions of homey that the IKEA dirigera hub doesn't have or missing.
Is it or will be possible in the future to create a shortcut to your home screen for a dashboard made with Homey's Dashboards (beta). So that you can quickly use a selected group of apps on your phone without having to open your Homey app first
Another idea. Problem: You can't view advanced flows on mobile. Sometimes I need to run or enable/disable a flow but i'm not sure what one. Solution: Allow us to leave a note ABOUT the flow that can be seen on the desktop and mobile flow. We can leave sticky notes but we can't see them on mobile.
Would you ever consider making an (affordable) device to display/interact with a Homey dashboard? I've been searching for a while for devices (before dashboards) and while some devices are interesting, mounting a tablet seem to be the best solution but I can't help but feel its a bit too much for showing a dashboard and some touch interaction.
Add the possibilities to make a snapshot of the Devices connection for the current Zigbee Mesh network. This can be helpfull for connection problems, even when the order of device connection can change later on.
Make it possible to add a second Homey Pro as a Slave node, so the Slave Homey Pro can take over if the Master Homey Pro is going down. So introduce some kind of Master/Slave princip for the Homey Pro.
Regarding access levels: imagine you have kids, and you don’t want them creating scenarios or turning off your heating system, or doing something similar. It’s not rocket science; it’s simple to manage. Setting access levels for specific devices and specific scenarios is sufficient. Even if a restricted device is used in a scenario, that’s absolutely fine because I know what the scenario does, and it’s safe.
So many issues - why no onboard Ethernet, why no IR learning, no way to mass deploy- product stuck between home hack and mass deploy very disappointing so far.
Dino is a great guy 👍🏻 He did an amazing job with my Homey Story 👏🏻 Great Podcasts you create - looking forward to new ones and our cooperation 🏅
I love the best buy guides and look forward for more. One recommendation though, I would specify at the top of each articles that more options are available and working with Homey and add a link to the community
I like Homey and the Podcast. Can you post a link to the magnetic iPad holder you were talking about?
love the best buy guide, I hope cameras can be added soon

A lot of Matter related news. I love it. That's the way to go and part of my criteria when buying devices

Your share is fantastic! It's informative and insightful. I've gained a lot from it.

Hi Guys > Category I would be keen to see is whole home battery backups, and which ones do and might work with homey in the future?
Thanks for your podcast, very interresting to understand developpment priorities.

Can a dashboard be designed on a pc? My tablet is already 'glued' to the wall so designing standing won't be that comfortable :-)
BlueStacks to emulate Android on Windows is what Homey suggests as a workaround BUT it is a workaround that has a lot of downsides. Many already requested a Web interface for Dashboards on the Homey community but it looks like more votes are needed if you want it
You can create your dashboard on any mobile device, so also your phone. The tablet on the wall will automatically update!

+1 on this one
Is it also possible to add a category ‘Smart Air Humidifiers’?

Just curious why presence sensors like the aqara FP2 are not supported in the official aqara app?
Is it or will be possible in the future to create a shortcut to your home screen for a dashboard made with Homey's Dashboards (beta). So that you can quickly use a selected group of apps on your phone without having to open your Homey app first
Does the 'kiosk modus' come with motion detection for camera so the screen can be black when not used on Android 14?

For the best buy, the order in which the list is done, is that random or do you find the first item on the list the best item?
Just looked in a few categories. The devices are just sorted in alphabetical order.
What is the name of the magnetic holder for the iPad?
Yes, what is the name?

Can you also make a calendar widget?

Where can we find the Smarthome blog of Dino? Might be interesting! (If not in Macedonian… 😉)
SmartHomeScene. It's English only :)

What Matter update is Aqara waiting for to integrate the FP2 with Homey?
Add the possibilities to set the Zigbee channel.
please make rainradar for germany
