Guys, in the title, by "great" I mean in terms of design, noise and thermals.
This is why AIBs don't like the NVIDIA's Founder Edition cards...
It's certainly not bad either. I don't recommend people spend this much on a graphics card, especially because the price drop isn't as good if you consider how close we are to getting next gen graphics card releases, but it is a very good and well rounded graphics card, with no significant weakness other than it being a bit too expensive to be worthwhile for most people (and maybe you could call the 16GB memory capacity a weakness, but I wouldn't call it a significant weakness unless you have some unusual use case in mind). It is still a relatively good value as far as high end graphics cards go, and also a good value if you compare it to a lot of other premium consumer electronics products that are out there, like premium laptops or phones, which I think often have some pretty serious design flaws and downsides for the end user related to cooling, durability, repairability, upgradeability, and resale value. As much as we may complain about Nvidia often being more anti-consumer than AMD, discrete Nvidia graphics cards are still generally far more reliable and also easier to maintain and repair than so many other consumer electronics devices.
It trades blows with the 7900 XTX in terms of value with a variety of pros and cons, though pricing can vary a lot depending on your region, and when you buy.
RX 7800 XT price is much better and it comes with one X more and a number 7 much better than 4... even European price of AMD Navi 32 will make RTX 4080 twice better...
RTX 4080/Super are so much better when you buy them in bulk quantities. Ask Nvidia cloud service. Individual usr price has been ridicoulous, not the product quality's fault.
They can run everything better than any older generation AMD or RTX 30... . If only they had the price of 4070 Ti (aka 4080 12GB unlaunchers edition) or even 4070 Ti Super 16 Gb Whatever Edition Just don't call me 4080 nobodybuysme detuners edition... at European prices RTX 4080 1350€ was biggest joke of marketing customer angrifier super edition... How a RTX 4090 was the real deal in FPS/$( or€) like 4070 and 4060...?

Gladly AMD is also sending now! It seems that post was some kind of "engine oil" and things started moving well! Got a 7800XT and now the 7900XT to stay from AMD as well, which will be great for testing with new comparisons, and of course, Reviews. It feels awesome, now I have to work a lot more though ahaha

@@AncientGameplaysbut is smaller than RTX 4090 for sure, and there is more copper on the RTX 4090 also. As cooler and pcb was spec'ed to use 3090 Ti overclocked to 600W while waiting for RTX 40 to be finished. They share the same socket, and you can interchange gpu die between 3090/Ti and 4090/6000, bios and microcode and driver may need tweak (possible or impossible). They are within some grams of difference only, while 4080 vs 4090 is like more than 300 g of weight...
I cant wait to install mine, makes me happy that i domt need so many case fans because i only have 6 fan slots on my corsair hub and i dont really want to go down the splitter route

@@AncientGameplays Ask for a RTX 2000 16GB 70W, RTX 4000 20GB (single slot) 130W and a RTX 4500 20GB 210W to do 3 "computing works" for a while, and don't tell them nothing about gaming. Having near 4060, 7600XT, 4070/7800XT and 4070 ti/7900GRE will come handy...

If you picked it for "cheap" it is still an awesome card, the only thing the super has versus the normal 4080 is lower power draw

I have the 7900XTX reference card as well and I love the look and feel of it. It was my only option for my tiny case (NZXT H1 v1) but if I had a larger case that 4080 super is beautiful!

Bought an inno3d twin rtx 4070 super last week, it is amazing (coming from a 2070 super), it runs cooler than the founder (the memory temperature is also cooler than the core itself lol), materials are great and it is also quieter than the founders, all of this for 620 euros
I moved over to the 4090 recently but still watch as many videos as I can on this channel but seeing how Nvidia's stepping up and sending you cards is awesome news you'll love the 4080 Super 👌

You have to consider that someone puts it in a small case and the GPU has to be able to cool itself or I use 2 GPUs in one PC and if it doesn't cool well, that would be a problem
if you case has enough space, heating would never be an issue with this GPU, even when using 2 of them, but for smaller cases? Sure, that's why I picked the reference XTX myself

Yeah, it could suffice, but if possible, NEVER cheap out on a PSU, get at least a 750W gold rate one from a good brand like corsair, seasonic, etc. And it will last you for years and years@@saminder_singh

I have a 4080 Super but personally speaking I think the Sapphire Nitro+ 7900XTX is probably my favourite looking GPU of all time. Its got the perfect amount of RGB and a very tasteful all metal shroud. Obviously, if you have a very dark build, the Nitro+ might not suit it. The Nvidia FE cards do look fantastic too.

The 4070 ti super we all expected, while 4080 was the 4070 we all deserved... but best thing of 4080/Super for me is its price being so adequate to be in current RTX 4090. What a good parrallel universe the one with 7900XTX being called 7900 or 7800 XT with a 4070 to 4070 ti Super price... AMD EU shop has now again 7900XTX at 1103€ vs RTX 4080 Super (Sold out again in EU) at 1119€. Still 300€ too much for gaming only both. Cheap enough for developers and workstations though that can buy both for the price of RTX 4090 at AIB price, crazy, crazy... and very inconvinient for a customer that only can choose to still bottleneck them with 365€ 7800x3d, 550€ 7950x or 750€ 14900KS or make a video wall out of 4 4K displays or one 8K or increasing internal rendering above 8K... by the time cpus and source code is well optimized for the top end they will be already obsolete... so much gains with cpu and ram overclock...

The long time problem with high end card "reference" is you pay top dollar for it and yet you only get pcb PCB with bare minimum design and basic cooler?this is how i feel about a decade ago. Imagine buying those cards like GTX580 or RX290X at $500/$550 and only get basic very mininal PCB design with blower cooler that is loud as a jet engine? AIB mid range card often comes with better quality custom pcb and cooler despite it is a mid range card. High end gpu despite being the cheapest/basic model should use more quality component and cooling. I think this is why partners did not like founders edition because it is an attempt to increase the quality even on the most basic model. In one aspect it is good for consumer but for partner that is like asking them to sell the basic model with more premium component that they intend to charge higher price for it
Nice! This is the card I switched my 7900xtx with as I just don't like this generation of AMD cards except instead of the FE I went 4080Super Arours Master on day one. Ben really cool and quiet. But I do appreciate the switch up from AMD products every once in a while, so thanks fab 👍
Enjoy it my friend. I still prefer AMD software wise (yeah, I know), but efficiency wise, Ada Lovelace is just much better.
@AncientGameplays oh I will miss AMD software menu. But yeah OMG the efficiency is out of this world. Like when I had my 7900xtx watching say your videos it was using 50-60w at 1440p or 4k. With the 4080super its 7w lol idk why such a huge difference bit as a result I don't need to keep gpu fans on with that power draw with just watching video's. AMD still has that to work on.
@@forog1 according to TPU a standard 4080 pulls 20W, i can remove the gpu-acceleration and run it on my CPU if I want but 30-70W here on my 7900 GRE (cpu 7600 doing nothing besides chrome at 1-10W).
I wouldn't base my purchase on that alone, maybe in a laptop but not on a desktop 😅
@_TrueDesire_ It's a problem to me when fans don't turn off when not needed. Like I only want then to turn on during gaming and off for simple tasks like video playback.
Also, this isn't the true issue I switched. The other is that AMDs whole line of RX 7000 series is just broken in VR games. The rx 6000 are much better here which I was thinking on getting a 6950xt but decided to get the 7900xtx at launch instead. Now I'm not going to downgrade to a 6950xt at this point so I decided to sidestep to an Nvidia equivalent instead. And I'm happy now. The RX 7000 just seems like they have hardware level bugs with them and I just don't want to invest in the hopes it gets patched out if they can. But raw performance it was a great card.

Also my 4080 Super FE has some minor coil whine which i can hear. Fans are dead silent though. I'm not the biggest fan of this cooler, but it looks good and will resell at a higher price due to being an FE. Will make it easier on me in 2-3 years

@AncientGameplays forgot to mention that and can say that after using that game not look that bad, but I prefer native on 7900xtx. My friend has this card he bought for ray tracing on 4k and now got disappointed 😂

Few have complained about 40 series cards themselves. It's just the pricing. I was fully intent on buying a 4080 until they announced the laughably insulting price. By the time they dropped it to 1k with the super I'd long since just bought a used 3080ti, so Nvidia's greed lost me as a customer. If they don't get their heads out of their collective asses with pricing I may never buy another new Nvidia GPU again.

Not once have I questioned the back of the gpu to see if there was another fan.
I wanted a 4080 super founders edition, but it won't fit in my NZXT H1 v2 case because it has a 3 slot bracket.
Since Nvidia doesn't make a founders edition of the 4070 ti super I got a 4070 super founders edition which easily fits, because it's so small for a gpu.
The 4070 super founders edition may be small, but it's an awesome gpu especially for 1440p with maxed settings and some 4k with the help of dlss3 and frame gen.
Exactly, that will be the next unboxing. The card just runs greats. The cooling has the same size as the RX 7800XT reference

True, its a 4080 that consumes less power and costs less money usually, even in today's market it is quite expensive, but considering both brands options, it delivers the price/performance much better than the normal 4080 IMO

RTX 4080 Super is much better than RX 7900 XT, I can't contain my happiness when I switched to RTX 4080 Super and sold my RX 7900 XT, it wasn't my computer, it was the video card, AMD has very bad drivers that don't work well in old games, also games that have just been released, now I can feel like a human being when I can play games without stutters and compiling fucking shaders, which game I would not have gone into, it runs smooth as butter on RTX 4080 Super, incredible pleasure 😍😍😍

@@AncientGameplays Bro, it's not about fps, it's about stability, which is better on Nvidia, which doesn't have such a shader compilation, and stutters, which makes me very angry, and no matter RX 7900 XT or XTX.
The stability talks are still here and there, but I use cards from both brands daily in several scenarios, and I myself see no difference whatsoever. If you do everything the right way and you don't happen to have a defective card, AMD will have its upper and lower points, and so will NVIDIA@@teutonicknight8198
