Only thing you did a teardown of was our wallets
Agreed
🤣🤣🤣🤣This literally spoiled his day.
Not mine, I'm sticking to my 3060TI until they release something that makes sense and doesn't melts on you.
@@roblereck they? just go amd if nvidia is too incompetent
It’s frankly disgusting how they forced me to buy the 4090. Another reason why Amd is betta 🤦🏽♂️
I'm glad that atleast nvidia knows their audience and provided a teardown guide
PCB to entire graphics card size ratio is hilarious.
Yeah it's like 30% gpu card, and 70% heatsinks/fans
Так это чтоб она не грелась как печка
4:11 i though the white stuff was cocaine
@@kakav42057 Is that why they cost soooooo much money. nVidia are smuggling cocaine in them.
Im all ballbag!
i cant believe how small it is without the heatsink on
the engineering and design makes the fe look more expensive than any other aib
And it’s the cheapest! At least in the UK. I just got mine.
@@Matte.u.k Also in Germany.
The price was 1799€ for 3 months. now it is at 2100-2300€
because nvidia is selling way more expensive silicon to aib and this money that they are "saving" on silicon is just put into better quality components, design and materials.
@@ArturOleszczuk1991 that's absolutely not true, most AIB cards perform worse in terms of stock boost speed and overclocking potential 🤣 exception being extremely high end cards that nobody buys
@@busterscrugs what's what I said, nvidia is selling their silicon way more expensive and saving for themselves better chips that for them, it's just manufacturing cost, aib is paying for everything related to produce that chip. So for example aib is buying worse chip for 150$ and nvidia in same time has binned chip for 40$ as expense.
It is great to see a company actually making a disassembly video so you can easily maintain it or try to repair it once your warranty is gone.
What’s the point if they don’t sell any replacement parts?
@rmogutierrez-santana4446 the only thing worth replacing is the fan if the bearing breaks or something like that. The main reason why you want to get inside your gpu after your warranty is gone is for you to be able clean the fan/heatsinkand to replace the thermal pads/paste once it dries out (usually happens after a couple or so years).
Reduce the extravagant prices, and supply more products gamers are tired.
Are they really though? Almost 200k units of 4090s were sold until this point. Maybe the same sweaty gamers should go to school and learn the basics of supply and demand instead of... you know gaming. Buy older cards or buy AMD and the prices will adjust.
@@w04h how much are they paying you bud?
@@w04h you have a point if people consume less Nvidia products, they will be forced to reduce the unrealistic prices

Are you guys aware that most of the 4000 series, up to the -4090 Nvidia GPU, is about 87% to 90% automated assembly, right?
Thank you please do more official teardowns like this!
I feel like that human-face fish watching the diver crack open sea urchins
Well done guys it’s absolutely beautiful best looking GPU ever made. Really impressive engineering and design.
Would be nice if they were ever in stock. They've only restocked in the US a single time since release.
its overpriced bro don't even consider buying it
no they restock every other week

I would never trust myself to do this but WOW, never realised how the whole heatsync works in my pc
This is my first Founder's Edition card, my 4090, and I'm so happy with it. That design is amazing and truly feels classy and high quality. Great job guys!
It’s a thing of beauty, and pretty nice to just hold in your hands lol
@@Luke-ih1oc facts! Closest I think I'll come to holding a brick of gold 😂
the fact that soon I'm gonna have to go through a teardown to deep clean my gpu is making me anxious
appreciate the tutorial but I'm still afraid I'm gonna mess up something really bad :(
please make the gerforce experience like obs, also the webcam is not working in the overlay.
Looks like the presentor is held at gun point.
Need to make all founder edition completely black out like the 4080super and a completely all white version a all white version would look so damn good with this design I’d pay extra just for it
If I were to paint its outer shell would that hinder its performance?
At this price I am wondering what will be starting price of 4060,70,50 💀💀💀
$1199, $1199, $1199
Ahhh, I was waiting for the iFixit promo.
Question for you Nvidia engineers.. this monster occupies 3 slots now.. so here is my problem... I want to install it into a latest generation ASUS ROG Maximus Hero which has 2 PCIe5 slots... the primary slot where the RTX4090 goes and a slot 4 spaces over where I want to install their bundled Gen 5 compatible Hyper SSD Expansion card... the problem is that only puts about 2mm space between the Hyper Card and your GPU... is that enough for the bottom facing fan to get air? And will the warmth generated by the Hyper card be an issue? I will be installing all of this into VERY well ventilated Corsair 7000D case with some 12 total fans if you include the 3 for the CPU water cooling. Thoughts?
Its really nice to see the correct teardown of a product from the same company. That's very transparent + user friendly, so thank you Nvidia for sharing!
yea, almost as transparent as their Second-party sharing of information and drivers j a day before release and not telling anyone how much stock they can expect!
I wouldn't call the pricing friendly
Nvidia =/= transparent
Did u spell Valve wrong?
Damn...
That small PCB... Fucking amazing.
Please what are two screw hole thread specs? I need to design a support bracket. The two screw holes on the opposite end of the i/o ports. They are under the small cover. Thanks.
1599$ but it's 3000$+
Noice
What size Phillips is needed for the first four screws?
this is great! still mad for the 4080 12gb tho
The amount of heat that this video card must generate must be something scary!
can you please make more so that they can be purchased
Engineering Masterpiece
Now you make a Video with a card i want to buy but cant because its sold out? Please make these Kind of Videos when we all gave you our best. Our money. Somehow its getting absurd
When I turn my 4080FE upside down it clunks like somethings loose. It works fine but whenever I’ve taken it out the case and handled it the clunk is always present. It only does it once though when turned upside down then won’t do it again until next time I take it out the case. Is this normal?
It doesn’t sound like a loose screw, it’s more like the heat sink shifting and clunking against the frame type sound.
Such a beautiful design, well done Nvidia.

For what is this small pcb on the frame at 05:50min?

Just curious how long that PCB gonna handle without HEATSINK

A $2,000.00 GPU price is way out there. Try to explain that to your credit lender when requesting a bank loan. It makes you wonder where your priorities are..
Just what I need. Thank you so much for making this video Nvidia / Albert Yunseaok Kim !
it's a pity that there is no similar video but with 4070 funders. It is also a pity that you did not release the 4070ti in the founders version
Amazing design!!
I would like to replace the thermal pads, does anyone know the required thicknesses, unfortunately I can't find any information.
i have yours gt1030 and is nice card is not as good as 4090 but for its price is amazing
i wonder how big will be the 5000 series

@@bouxesas2046 thats crazy !! we are on 2022 they have to manage to make it smaller not bigger !
I’m confused why are their so many versions of the 4090💀

Any idea where I can buy Nvidia founders edition?
your like 2 months too late, teardown vids on the 4090 been done to death.

Reinforce your tables structure. This Bois a chonker lol.
I just found out that the actual gpu is small and that the rest of it is just for heat. I feel dumb

@@fireball2275 4090 is okay value. 4080 is absolutely terrible. Wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole
tell me about it, I'm sitting here debating if i should wait for the 4090ti now
So good to see NVIDIA open enough to show a tear-down ! Can the company also release the missing firmware for open-source Linux drivers ? The power management (reclocking) firmware that controls performance has not been available since GTX 900 cards. This is hurting open-source and Linux adoption, since NVIDIA is a discrete GPU market leader for a long time now
They made open source driver available on Turing based cards almost a year ago but anyway, they never they never hurt Linux adoption, they always had a great closed driver and until just a couple of years ago they were the only vendor to offer high performance on Linux since AMD's driver were so bad that an entry level NVIDIA card was beating their flagship which has been their main reason to move to on open source driver.
- PCB: $499
- Headshink: $1999
Give me somethink affordable its cool but I miss the gtx 1000 serie pricing and even with the enflation current prices makes no sense.
144hz+ high settings 1440P = 4070 is all I want.
you'll get a 4070 for 800$ MSRP (actually 1200 where ever you live lol sucks to be poor signed NVIDIA :^) )

Too bad it won't fit inside my case or I would have actually bought one lol
Can you teardown the price as well?
hoping to get some rtx 4000 series in the near future
No you're not
The frame gen is great, I've been very surprised by it. You'll love it when you get one.
@jake152 Yeah but for how long? More than 1000 $ for the card to be amazing for 2 years? And then the next cards come out and magically the previous ones fall in performance because of the optimization not being the priority for them anymore, and being the priority for the latest ones instead.
It is expensive honestly and i can't afford one ever
jesus crist nvidia, I'm on the very first 4 screws and nearly stripped it. Did you really need to put loctite on these?
1:32 🤯 look at all the tech crammed on the PCB!!!
ikr!
Had to order myself one today off the Canadian eBay to get it for a reasonable price because the only other Store I could _somewhat_ reasonably have gotten a Founders Edition from was in neighbouring Germany a) notoriously out of Stock and b) would _still_ have required for it to be shipped to an acquaintance in Germany instead of directly to me because that Store too refused to ship to either Switzerland OR a German P.O. Address - I'm not impressed Nvidia, really not impressed with all the hoops I had to go through to getting one 😑 That being said... Who'd have thought I'd be finding a Teardown of _such_ a Component from the actual Manufacturer 🤔 Might come in handy when I have to dedust mine at some point down the road considering how long my GTX 1080 Ti FE has kept me afloat 🤨
Ask your post office if you can have "street address service" then you will overcome all~!
know it would be a better idea to create a COOLING solution that doesn't come in the form factor of a CINDERBLOCK
I wish I could afford one of these lol.
Aaaand I'll never be repasting my 4090FE. Lol
focus on making the 5090 smaller don't focus only on performance and power usage
4090 's actually a beast btw
This comment doesn't make any sense. The top end card is of course going to need to be big as it's a big chip with a lot going on and high clocks. No different with AMD or Intel's CPUs, the top end chips need much larger coolers and use more power. Physics!
The cards that are less focused on the maximum performance and are smaller are 4080 and everything that will come out below that. There always has to be compromises. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
agreed
cool, want one to play 4k60fps on recent modern games since the geforce rtx 2080 super not that strong anymore.
This GPU should have been a 1000 bucks at best and 4080 at 700. Hopefully AMD can compete for lower prices.
@Muhammad Ehtasam benchmarks leaked, even the 7900XT is faster than 4080...
4080 is actually like a 4050 ti - 4060 so more like 250 and the 4090 is 500 MAX. Anything more than that is a rip off
@Muhammad Ehtasam so wrong 🤡 the xtx is more like 4090 and Xt is like 80
Why? Because you are broke? The price is what it is because people buy it. Simple supply and demand. If people stop buying it prices will fall. Buy amd and stop crying.
@Transistor Jump they should give it to you for free , because you deserve it!
very good
Love this design. 💚
what's the point if there are never any in stock. you want my money or not.
Since you can’t sell that unit now you should donate it to me bc I love nvidia and really want a 4090 like really really bad
I don't know bro, doesn't look like the price is correct to me, even more after seeing it completely disassembled.
@Transistor Jump it costs alot more than you think, considering larger die's mean lower yields from boule's, theres alot that goes into the process, whilst it costs less to produce than they charge for it, they have to make up alot of invested money from various other things like development of new architecture, or software they develop, let alone fluctuating prices from chip sellers like TSMC. kinda a silly comment really when you have no idea about the process let alone the business. they dont just rack the price up for the sake of it, AMD have cut corners and had lower expenditure, and their mcm design has saved them alot of money which is why u see different pricing.
@@memereview7415 do you even know how much a die like the 4080 costs? it's less than triple digits..
Why does this video have so many dislikes, wtf?
now sell official replacement fans please, please, please!
Why does the voice in this video just sound off? Could it be ai generated?
Wow
Mini tiffin box
I want one 😊
Cool
Nothing like a 5 pound cooler and an exagerrated notch on the PCI slot to hasten the cracking PCB death of these cards. Take off the cooler to WC it if you aren't going to use titanium GPU supports.
looks really cool tbh. not to mention only 6 mins to open it, would make installing water cooler ez af
too bad you can't buy one without dealing with a scalping reselle, Nvidia, at least allow Micro-Center to sell the FE
Pricing of the FE 4080 should have started at $699 and the FE 4090 at $1099. Even those prices are still extremely high for a single PC hardware component but at least it would properly reflect the current market.
The 4090 will be appreciably better performing than the 7900xtx which starts at $1000.
@@Safetytrousers just a mere performance improvement that’s not worth of 500$.
@@Safetytrousers Exactly and AMD is guilty of gpu price gouging as well. The 7900 XT/XTX are also way over overpriced.
