This was very tame for him, Amanda, by the way something which you might not know his real name is, "Royston Vasey", which is the fictitious name given to the village in "The League of Gentlemen" TV series.
Royston Vassey is an absolute legend on the comedy circuit, he has done a lot for charity all through his career too. He is a true gentleman and a family man.
I had the pleasure of meeting him when I was working in a hotel back around 1990-1993, one of the politest gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure to meet!!
Lol I'm love Chubby, i need to dig put some of my DVDs of him. As you can see his stand up is slightly stronger than most lol. My mum used to find him hilarious too.
Thanks for sharing, I have seen Chubby many times even here in Australia - I think he was banned here for a while. You could tell the brits in the audience, they were all shouting 'you fat ba..rd' and Chubby loved it. I don't get why people find him offensive, he gives it to himself as much as others. Anyway for those that don't like him don't go see him. But stop trying to cancel him, most people love him. You should go see him live Amanda, you will be snorting all night lol!
Chubby Brown is the best of British comedians. I saw him live, and it was so funny. No UA-cam clip would do his comedy justice. He is vulgar, creative, and oh so true in everything he says. To get him, you need to see him live... My mum was with me, which I was dreading, but she loved him.
Been to see Roy twice, the first time I was worried about getting up to use the facilities just in case I was singled out but the second time it was not a worry as he is a great guy with no meanness in him. He wears the suit to avoid getting invites to funerals (so he says). His real name is Royston Vasey (the place name in the League of Gentlemen series)
Roy Chubby Browns real name is Royston Vasey and in The comedy series The League of Gentlemen the town was called Royston Vasey!!! and Chubby Brown played The Mayor of Royston Vasey.
This guy is absolutely brilliant live. I've seen him once and NOBODY gets out of their seat when he's on stage. That is the rule because if you stand up your a prime target for one of his jokes. A bloke got up when I was there and Chubby's reaction was "He's leaving early! His mam must be collecting him so he doesn't miss his bedtime". This comment naturally included a few F and C words but you have to keep it polite on UA-cam.
I finally got to see him at my local theatre. Took my mum along, who wasn’t a fan as my mate had to cancel. She laughed her arse off all the way through!
I saw him interviewed and he said he started doing normal comedy but soon found out that the working men's clubs pay 'ed the best and they liked 'rood' so he just increasingly specialized in it. Definity worth more of your time he is hilarious.
You landed on one of the tamer clips Amanda lol keep going, you'll reach that offensive stuff you've heard about pretty quick haha, glad to see you enjoyed your introduction to him
Hi Amanda, Roy Chubby Brown was born Royston Vasey in Middlesbrough, England, in 1945, He's still alive and well at 79 years old, He's still doing the odd stand up show as well, Years ago he beat throat cancer, He's absolutely hilarious, Check out The Helmet Rides Again, Which is one of his early shows from the 1990s 😄😄
This was a VERY tame chubby video! 😂 He's from Grangetown (where we live like!) in Middlesbrough. My wife met him years ago when she worked in a DIY shop. He was literally chubby brother n as he knocked a stack of brown fence paint all over himself! Lovely guy & insisted he would pay for it all.
Please for your next reaction do Coupling or Yes Prime Mister. Coupling is criminally underrated as a sitcom, and Yes Prime Minister is a classic. The Yes Prime Minster "Newspapers" is amazing.
Or "My Best Friend's Bottom" (with "Captain Subtext"!). Coupling was hilarious. I still go back and watch it every now and then. Jeff's neuroses are just on another level!
Chubby brown is a brilliant comedian this was a tame performance compared to some if you ever see him live make sure you don't heckle him because he really enjoys embarrassing you😅😅
He lives near me in Middlesbrough area…he is the nicest man you could meet.Does alot for charity…..the Kray Twins story is true.He was massive in the 70/80’s and he is usually more offensive than this video,a very funny guy.❤
You need to go and see him live, before he passes on! The DVD'S are good, but the atmosphere he creates live is unbelievable! Also that Kray's story, wouldn't surprise me if it had a ring of truth! He's been around a long time!
Went too chubbys gig in Dundee . 1st of November 2024. He is 80yr old so the kray twins joke might be true. Doubt it though 😂. . . He is still sharp for any age nevermind 80. Lots off fresh material. Catch him before it's too late. Legend .
Absolute legend, and Chubby Brown is quite good as well. You should listen (even if only for your own pleasure) to his song "I'm a Cnut", although you might be disappointed if you're expecting a song about vikings.
Yay finally watching chubby he is still funny I have seen him front row so many times. And yeah that was one of his more tame ones they get a lot offensive
I suspect the Kray story may not be true as Jack The Hat McVitie was already dead but 1968/69 and Mad Frankie Fraser was a member of the Richardson Gang - a rival gang to the Krays (that being said, he did know the Krays). But a good comedian will never let the truth get in the way of a good joke.
Yeah, but maybe he's just got the years wrong. The joke about Glasgow and England v Scotland game wasn't 1974, it was 1977 when they destroyed the goalposts. I was there.
I saw Roy Chubby Brown live in Belfast a few years ago, during the gig a man & woman arrived late , so he decided to take the piss out of them by jokingly suggesting the reason they were late to the show was they were busy shagging, it turned out they were Father & Daughter ( he DID apologise afterwards) 😂
I saw a Chubby brown impersonator at the local pub in south Wales. He said things like his wife pulled her knickers down to the floor and her minge was still in them. I saw a few weeks later he'd been booked at a family festival in north Wales not knowing his act, I thought shit thats gonna go down well. It was on the Welsh news then it had been cancelled lmao. They must have realised just in time that wasn't a great idea.
The footage is quite tame compared to 99% of his material,I think the clip is part of fifty shades of brown,a friend of mine met him in spain,he sat at the front at his show and chubbs started to take the mickey afterwards,he bought my friend and his. 2 friends a drink and my friend said he is such a down to earth bloke
I would recommend you look at fifty shades of brown Amanda, you will get a better idea of what hes about, surprised they actually got his humour in the US
The east end gangsters didn't touch normal people, they only went for the other gangsters, theives and baddies. They were really nice and gentlemanly to everyone else
I don't doubt myself that the Krays story was true. They were very much in with the entertainment industry of the time, and likely had the best spot at any show they attended.
Just to let you know, Amanda, this is just a schtick. A friend of mine produced his first live videos 30+ years ago. They had pre-production meetings at the council house Chubby had bought in the North East (he bought the one next door and knocked them through). He doesn't swear. He'd knock your block off if you were disrespectful to his then wife or swore in front of her! The rather surreal British comedy horror, 'The League of Gentlemen' is set in the fictional town of Royston Vasey, Chubby Brown's real name and so called in his honour. Although there is a town called Royston in Hertfordshire, Royston Vasey is based on the town of Alston in Cumbria.
Personally i've not seen the new Krays film, for me they are Martin and Gary Kemp from the 1989 version. I recommend you check that out. I've obviously not had much association with gangsters etc. The closest i've come was about 20 years ago when i was clubbing with a mate, who introduced me to her cousin, who from his name i knew to be a thug, and drug dealer. I thought i'd get murdered that night, thankfully he was polite, i guess because i was a friend of his cousin, Vicky lol.
You need to watch a lot more as he gets a lot worse than that!, Chubby Brown is a comedy legend and you need to watch a whole show, there are loads of clips on here.
If you want the most offensive try and find Jerry Sadowitz. It’s hard though. Very little is available although he still tours and bootlegs get passed about.
I know you're not going to have the time or inclination to comment on the whole thing. But I recommend giving Chubby's film 'UFO' a watch through at some point. It's got actual bona-fida actors in it. Like Roger Llyod Pack, Sally Anne Field and even Sara Stockbridge who goes full frontal nude in it. Probably not to everyone's taste. But I give it a run out once a year for a few proper belly laughs.
I think were I in that situation I would have played dump and bought them more of what ever they were drinking than explain how I can't see shit with he lights in my eyes I didn't recognize them. I'm sure Chuby Brown could have gotten them laughing.
I've watched a few reactions to 50 Shades of Brown. That's one you ought to try out. Chubby is a little bit ruder than this clip and he explains why he wears his outfit.
This was very tame for him, Amanda, by the way something which you might not know his real name is, "Royston Vasey", which is the fictitious name given to the village in "The League of Gentlemen" TV series.
He appeared in LoG as the mayor didn't he?
I didn’t know that, I’m going to watch more of him !
@@frankbrodie5168 Yes, I think so.
@Wah-h2y He sounds like a great bloke.
@neilj8224 Oh, well, that's life as they say. 😕
Royston Vassey is an absolute legend on the comedy circuit, he has done a lot for charity all through his career too. He is a true gentleman and a family man.
Roy is one of those marmite comedians. He was one of those you had to listen to when you were a teen in the 80s/90s He still has it.
I’ve never seen him live. This is pretty unfunny to be honest.
i nave actually meet chubby twice he was so nice and the second time he remembered me
That’s incredible!!
I had the pleasure of meeting him when I was working in a hotel back around 1990-1993, one of the politest gentlemen I have ever had the pleasure to meet!!
Been asking for this fo years yayyy finally
Yeah I have requested this a number of times
I get loads of requests but I always try my best to get through them all ☺️
I ws lucky to see him last year in Blackpool. You should go there as he's still bloody brilliant
Ah brilliant!
Chubbs is a very VERY funny man and does so much for charity too. Love him.
Lol I'm love Chubby, i need to dig put some of my DVDs of him. As you can see his stand up is slightly stronger than most lol. My mum used to find him hilarious too.
I still have half a dozen Chubby DVD's lying around. And try to watch his film 'UFO' every year or so.
I’ll have a look ☺️
I met Roy after a show once in my home rown of Rhyl.
Was he nice?
@@LADYRAEUK yeah shook my hand and asked if I enjoyed the show.
I went to Rhyl once... IT was shut!!

Haha that’s brilliant 😂😂
Brilliant reaction, but I found the subtitles even funnier, some of them were totally wrong
Roy Chubby Browns real name is Royston Vasey and in The comedy series The League of Gentlemen the town was called Royston Vasey!!! and Chubby Brown played The Mayor of Royston Vasey.
Ahi didn’t know that, thank you!

Lovely to hear that snicker again, Amanda Rae.
Have a grand weekend, all of you.
I wish you rainbows.
I hope you do as well 👍🏻
ah yes at long last CHUBBY!"!!! a legend
oh and yes watch his EARLIER stuff thats not so politically correct
Could you recommend one?
“That was quick.” Story of my life. 😂
I saw him interviewed and he said he started doing normal comedy but soon found out that the working men's clubs pay 'ed the best and they liked 'rood' so he just increasingly specialized in it.
Definity worth more of your time he is hilarious.
In public he hates people swearing he’s completely different off stage than on
People forget it's an act
I see chubby last week live, he’s still a s mad and funny as fuck
You landed on one of the tamer clips Amanda lol keep going, you'll reach that offensive stuff you've heard about pretty quick haha, glad to see you enjoyed your introduction to him

Coupling is criminally underrated as a sitcom, and Yes Prime Minister is a classic. The Yes Prime Minster "Newspapers" is amazing.
I will look it up ☺️☺️
@@LADYRAEUK specifically the episode called "the melty man cometh" for coupling haha

Chubby brown is a brilliant comedian this was a tame performance compared to some if you ever see him live make sure you don't heckle him because he really enjoys embarrassing you😅😅
I would never bring attention to myself! Haha
Looking gorgeous as always Amanda.
Thank you!
Your spot on,Amanda is hot for sure.gr73.
As usual, Google subtitles haven't got a clue when it comes to Northern accents!
lol they are usually pretty rubbish l
I tell you I've seen this man many times brilliant
He lives near me in Middlesbrough area…he is the nicest man you could meet.Does alot for charity…..the Kray Twins story is true.He was massive in the 70/80’s and he is usually more offensive than this video,a very funny guy.❤

☺️

Amanda, someone I know was a good friend of Frankie Frazer, some of the stories he told us.

My friend lived i the east end at the time of krays. People lived in fear of them.
Chubby has sadly hit a peak and gone down hill. His best material was in the late 80s early 90s.
Love you Amanda x
The kemp Brothers Played the Kray twins as well
Chubbs made my childhood
☺️
I can barely understand him, but I appreciate.

The east end gangsters didn't touch normal people, they only went for the other gangsters, theives and baddies. They were really nice and gentlemanly to everyone else
It was just that bit, any other stand up of Chubby Brown would just be relentless heavy swearing but funny jokes.
50 shades of brown
Hi Amanda try jethro see what you make of him great channel thanks hope you enjoy lol
I don't doubt myself that the Krays story was true. They were very much in with the entertainment industry of the time, and likely had the best spot at any show they attended.
