    I have this same handgun, I love it! .40 S&W is my favorite round and because the heavier slide on the VP40, it handles recoil very well. Recoil on the VP9 feels like a .22 handgun, very easy to shoot. GREAT REVIEW!

      I'm contemplating getting my first handgun and I like the VP series by HK. Folks have suggested that I go with a 9mm vs 40mm because they say the 40 would be "too much" for me as a first time owner and go with the 9mm. Do you have any issues with the 40 being "too much" for you?

      @@darrylbranch6818 it's definitely not "too much" I'm a fairly small framed woman. It's very easy to control, and highly accurate.

    Nice Review.
    Any man that weighs at least 150 pounds and is not elderly should have no issues handling a full size handgun chambered in .40 S&W. As most of you know this cartridge was evolved from the 10mm for the FBI so males of small stature and females, with practice, should be able to effectively master it. After shooting an H&K VP40 and you think it is too snappy you're either giving up too early or you should move on to a 'much' smaller caliber. If you can shoot a light weight 9mm sub-compact and not complain a full size pistol like the VP40 should be a breeze.

      David G. Oooh! That’s a damn good question! I think so... (then I went and checked)...the answer is yes between the USP, P 2000, P 30.

      Reggie Ringgold Jr. Oh yes! And that’s if you keep medium L side with medium r sides together and so on. But for example I have a large right and medium L side on with a small back strap. That potentially opens up hundreds of combos. (And I’m too lazy to do the actual math...lol!)

    What is the barrel length?

  • @000one
    @000one 4 місяці тому

    My VP40 has the threaded barrel. As far as recoil goes, It has just a bit more snap than my Glock 19. This genreation is a bunch of recoil sensative men that refuses to learn how to grip a handgun and shoot it properly. How in the world could you ever shoot a 45 acp, 357 mag or a 41 or 44 magnum. My 60 year old sister easily shoots her husbands 44 mag S&W 629. She knows how to handle recoil. She shoots her 9mm and 40 S&W one handed. Don’t fear the handgun boom boom.
