    I love my Glocks, but the VP series is just perfection. No BS I have had Glocks since 87, the VP9 changes everything. The fit finish grip quality accuracy are polymer striker fired game changers. It is not close! and I've screamed Glock from the mountain top for 30 years!

    • @davsny5
      @davsny5 2 роки тому +4

      Glocks are quality made, reliable/dependable, easy to use and won't break the bank, they basically copied H&K's designs for a polymer frame, striker fired concept, but I would carry an H&K VP, P or USP any day of the week over even the Glock 17, 20, or 22 (Glocks 3 best IMO). I prefer H&K, Beretta and Sig Sauer over Glocks and like S&W, a lot.

    • @varanid9
      @varanid9 2 роки тому +3

      @@davsny5 I'll take the Glock over the Beretta and the S&W. Berettas are great, but, Glocks will beat them out for durability. Not that I'd have any reservations about carrying a Beretta, mind you. As for Smith, not battle proven like the others you mention here, and, too many quality issues with their firearms for me to trust my life to anything with their name on it.

      Yeah, they are sweet shooters and dont need much practice to take accurate shots with it. Glocks take a little getting used to the trigger. Every glock trigger I tried feels a little different. HK is very consistent and I’ve never heard or read about them being lemons.

After handling it he told me he liked it and asked me if I thought the price was fair to which I suggested he check out buds gun shop...needless to say he left the gun shop empty handed but with a big smile on his face. I had the same trigger-sting issue with every Glock I've ever shot, something about that middle piece in the trigger. When I saw HK went to that, I knew I'd stick with the P30 series. As far as trigger safety goes, S&W has a much better version in my opinion, no trigger sting.

  • @Wlmitch1960

    I always tell people that the best pistol they can purchase is the largest caliber one that they can shoot the most comfortably and accurately. I personally shoot the HK VP40 the most comfortably and accurately, and in MY experience, it is the softest shooting .40 S&W I have ever shot. I have small hands and short fingers for a man. Glocks tend to bang on the middle knuckle of my middle finger when I shoot them, which is very uncomfortable. I have not yet shot a pistol with a trigger that pinches my trigger finger the way the HK VP Series pistols pinch yours. This seems to be an issue for people with large hands and long fingers. Therefore, the Glock 22 and Glock 23 are most likely the best pistols for YOU to shoot because they neither bang your knuckle nor pinch your trigger finger, and you can shoot them the most comfortably and accurately. I personally do not care for Glocks, but for those who are offended by the fact that you prefer Glocks over other pistols, they need to get over it.

    Hickok! I don't comment too often, but what you said about "what you shoot", is so true. If you shoot Glock, it's just what you are "used to". I recently got a Sig & it was uncomfortable at the range a couple times because the "single action only" was a different manual of arms.. Thank you & God bless you for what you provide the shooting community...

      I love H&K, Beretta and SIG Sauer the best but Glock and S&W are great, as well and I prefer the G22 over the 23, much better shooter IMO and the Shield 2.0 is the best CCW. The Walther PPS M2 LE is an amazing micro carry pistol, great PPQ like, crisp trigger, excellent reset and nice looking/feeling gun. The LE gives you an extra magazine and green glow night sights. For a little over $300, its a steal and a great piece. The Shield M&P 2.0 Shield with Crimson Trace Laser is a steal under $400. Loved my Shield, my 92FS and 1911 were way to big for CC IWB. The Shield, PPS and my Sig P229 .40/.357 are ideal for CC and the Sig 365, as well.

    I just bought one of these today as a new EDC. I wasn't looking at HK to be perfectly honest, but all I needed to do was hold it and test the trigger. In my opinion, the trigger is exceptional. From fire to reset is a marginal 1/8 inch(if that). It is a very comfortable firearm for my stature(6ft, 160lbs). Fairly small guy, tall(ish) and lanky. Cannot wait to do a 500 round burndown with this sleek and comfortable weapon. I hope I remember to comment on the experience. Could someone please do me a solid leave a like and a comment on this to remind me? I would really appreciate it, and maybe I can give more insight before you spend $1,000 on this firearm as to whether you're going to like it or not. Thanks in advance.

      @RdeneckTech 10 місяців тому +2

      @@artgreen6915 nice! Thank you. I did a little more than just a 500 round burn down. I have also done a torture(ish) test. Basically, I treated the firearm like shit for a month through neglect. So far there have been roughly 2300or so rounds through it and I had one stovepipe malfunction when a buddy of mine was shooting. We ran through about 300 rounds of reloaded ammo that was ordered online. I purchased a bag of subsonic online and some of the rounds were audibly more quiet. Makes me think that some of them didn't have enough powder, or maybe even no powder at all. Anyway, I didn't clean this pistol until that malfunction, which happened right around the 850 round marker. From when I opened the box to 850, I threw the pistol in the dirt during weapons transition drills, I made sure that the mags were in the dirt, I left the scattered ammo in the dirt before loading the mags, I left the pistol, mags, and ammo in a swimming pool over the weekend and went to the range Monday. I haven't been nice to this pistol. It is rugged as hell and does not lose zero easily. It has maintained the preset factory zero(10 yards) this entire time. Doesn't look like the rifling is worn even a little. Trigger is still crisp(for a striker fire) and the reset is great, I like that it kind of forces your finger forward to encourage you to pull it again. The plastic tabs on the slide didn't make it. I took them off and part of them were stuck under the rear sight and now they are useless. Overall, the VP series is a robust and accurate weapon. I really like the European paddle style mag release too. My reloads feel better, but I'm sure that's just a preference thing. The tritium night sights are super bright throughout the night so you will still see them when you turn on the flashlight. There are 3 of each side straps, 3 back straps, and 3 mags too. Down fall is that mine is not optics ready. It will have to be milled. So that's my experience after a year ish of training like it was a zombie apocalypse with this pistol. Hopefully it helps someone.
      Cheers from Texas

I recently bought a Walther PPQ M2 .40 and a Sig Sauer P320 9MM because of your positive comments about the triggers on both. I am a high end range shooter (I enjoy putting holes in paper!). And neither gun pinches my trigger finger. I do own a FN- FNX .40, that makes my trigger finger rub on the trigger guard,. It rubs, pinches, and I don't enjoy firing it. I keep it because it is a DA,SA, de-cocker, that I feel safe with under my extra pillow at night.

    Extremely good video, Hickok45, especially for anyone considering buying a .40 caliber pistol. The HK VP40, in Hickok45's evaluation is both accurate and reliable. He also points out the good things, and also the things that should be experienced, about the pistol. .... Hopefully, some of the American companies will copy the 'grip protrusions' on the slide. Not all of us have the 'bear trap' grip of a Hickok45. He even gave some kudos to the grip-protrusions on the slide.. .... Hickok45 mentioned his video for the UpLULA loader, from Maglula. The Hickok45 video is called, """Magula Magazine Loader Simply Amazing!"""" ....... About two-thirds into the video, Hickok45 started missing some of the steel targets. = It could be his ~mother-in-law~ went to refill her thermos with hot-tea. By the way, there's a rumor going around, about the tunnels underneath the Hickok45 compound. His mother-in-law is supposedly able to both ring and knock down the targets, while hiding out-of-sight, down in the tunnels. .... Actually, Hickok45 is a very good shot!!!

    Hickok, if you notice, the Grip on your G23 is heavily, taped with Tallinn Grips, that could be why you're experiencing jumpiness with the H&K VP .40cal. Although, the .40cal as you know, is inherently, a "SNAPPY" Cartridge. Just a thought!

    Hot-DAMN, a stock magazine has 13-round capacity??!?!?!?!?! I was considering the VP9 because it's less punch, but more bullets. But *13 rounds in .40 cal?!?!?!?!* That's still a good amount of ammo for that big of a caliber! Probably getting a VP 40 instead now...

    I missed this video when it was first posted. I have to agree with Hickok again on this pistola... The Mk4 is a long overdue upgrade from Ruger! I too bought the S&W Victory after dropping too many "F" bombs while trying reassemble my Mk2 after cleaning (which I ultimately sold to preserve what little sanity I have). Both the Mk4 and Victory are fantastic guns! If I had to nick the Ruger for anything it would have to be for the ambi safety getting in the way and the rear sight blade just never lining up the way I needed it to. (Not Ruger's fault. Just this old dog's preference.) The Hunter model may well be the prettiest handgun Ruger has ever built! Once again Hickok, spot on review. Thanks.

    I traded in my G23 w/out hesitation simply because the VP40 was far less kick than the Glock. Perhaps, for me, it boils down to hand size. I get a much better hold on the HK than I did on the G23.

      Tbh the g23 is a compact while the vp40 is full size, so not a really good comparison. The vp40 should be compared with the glock 22 not the 23.

    The recoil spring is different. It’s a single flat wound spring.
    The Glock has multiple springs on it.
    A Glock will shoot softer. The VP will hit harder and flip a bit. That’s the best feature of the Glock in my opinion
