- Keeping with up the pattern of losing subscribers with each new video, I present the Yakima Canyon on my Honda ADV 150! Come along on this chill ride as I stop at a few spots and take some photos of this neat back road in central Washington state.
I was only thinking about this channel the other day on my ride home from work. Gorgeous scenery, great “conversation” and a bike….awesome! Thanks!!!
This is making me want to trade in my PCX125 for an ADV 150 or XR150L and just go explore Washington, I have lived here since 2017 and I really haven't been to all of the corners of the state yet. Feels like the best way to see it all would be on two wheels. Except I would be using a Sony A99 with a Sigma 30mm f1.4 for the landscape shots and a Minolta 200mm f2.8 for any animals I might find.
I really do like traveling on the ADV. It does need a seat cushion though. The back side does start to hurt after about an hour of riding. But I guess that’s true for almost every bike made nowadays… Why can’t moto manufacturers get that right!? Anyway.., Speaking of Minolta, I have a 35mm Rokkor lens from like 1981 that’s tack sharp with a bit of character to it. It really is good. I’ll have to take it out on a video sometime and show it off..
Hey if you ever want to sell the PCX 125 I'd definirely be interested in it. I live in the South Sound and just had my motorcycle stolen in July and have been dying for a new bike. Same goal as you, explore all that WA has to offer. Feels like I can pick any direction and go and the trip would be worth it. We live in a magical place.
Great video awesome views and awesome bike 😎👍👍
With you on it, I’m sure it will be good for going anywhere! Great vid again, great scenery, 👍🇬🇧
I live in Vancouver, Wa. and there is a beauty on the west side of the mountains. Yet, there is a stunning beauty on the east side of the mountains that I find is great for the soul. There is a ruggedness which speaks to me. The geology of the NW is incredible and much to admire and learn of it's makeup. To me an adventure is to go and find new places when riding my motorcycle. An adventure is what you make it to be, on road or off road, to explore. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Well, I don´t know about the other subscribers that you are loosing... but you just got a new subscriber, an international one, from Portugal.
Nice videos and... because I am "cooking" a wild idea (next year, a long scooter trip along the continental USA), your videos are quite useful (I would love to use a ADV-350... but I guess that model is not available there, in the US... so a "small 160" - now ADV-160- is a possibility).
Keep it up with the good work.
Cheers from Coimbra (Portugal).
I appreciate you watching! Yes, sadly the 350 version is not available here in the states. Honda doesn’t think it would sell, but everything small CC is selling like crazy due to high fuel costs. I know I would surely buy one if given the chance.
@@GasWorksISO, I just tried one here (ADV 350)... and ... wow... what a ride! Quite probably my next scooter later this year...
So I just picked up my ADV 150 yesterday and rode it home 88 miles. Such a great little machine! How much of a difference does that aftermarket windscreen make, cause the stock screen leaves a lot to be desired. Pretty much my only qualm about the bike.
It’s only a slight improvement. But noticeable.
Talking about 'ADV', motorcycle marketing is irritating. Like the heavy road bikes that are called 'Scramblers'. Or my Suzuki that is called Dual Sport, it's useless as a road sports bike; in fact it's a real scrambler. But, yes, anything can be an adventure.
Yea seriously..my 24 speed huffy is a adventure bike one day, a commuter bike another day, errand bike, delivery bike, all in one, and its no horse power..only 1 person power lol!! 0.001 horse power is what I was rated on the dyno!!
I like the hip/side point of view of the camera..
Nicely done.
I have ADV160 and love it..awesome bike this one
Wow just wow the views are so good, thanks for the ride, I was wondering how stable your scooter is at higher speeds thanks.
Very stable all the way up to its top speed, which is about 65mph.
Great road for a ride out. Looks like a boat ramp next to the bridge, but river looks a bit too rapid for 'Sunday canoe' paddle.
Nice video! Like you, I ride an ADV150 and carry my camera around. I also carry a drone to get those ariel shots. However, I'm confused. I'm shooting a Sony A6500 with the Sigma 18 to 50 2.8 but your zoom ring looks more beefy and there is a label on the lens that says 27 to 75 2.8. What gives? Your photos look great! BTW, who's doing the song starting at 33:46? I don't think you need dirt to qualify your ride as an adventure. What you're doing is an adventure, it's what you make it. The ADV150 can go dirt but not crazy but probably better than a PCX150. I have a CRF300L Rally when I know that I'm going to do a lot of dirt and not sure of the conditions. I also have a Trail CT125 for moderate trails (the CT is a blast). Anyway, enough of my rambling on. Nice job.
I have a follow focus gear ring on my lens so it works with my DJI gimbal focus motor. The label 27-75 is the full frame equivalent focal length. I label all my APSC lenses like that so I can match focal ranges with my full frame lenses without having to do the conversion in my head each time I swap lenses between cameras. My Sony a7iv has a great crop mode in video, so it just stream lines things when I’m filming on location for clients. (I do paid work locally for other people).
@@GasWorksISO Thanks. I really like your MC stuff but I also enjoy the photo part too.
Eastern WA is so much nicer than the west side of the state, less people too.
That’s what makes it nicer..😝😁 The west side does have some beautiful places, but the crowds of people kind of ruin it for me. No matter where you go, someone is already there…
Thanks for the video, and sharing the ride with us, beautiful scenery 👍 stay safe everyone.
Gosh..I am settled on buying the ADV 150 scooter and was searching videos on them and came across your videos on this bike. As i was watching I recognized the areas you film in. I lived out at Wenas Lake for 3 years as my GF's sister owned the "Stagecoach RV park" at Lake Wenas. Many fine memories of that area especially the Yakima River road. Anyhow thanks for the great vids. Need to bite the bullet and get a new ADV 150 soon!! I'm an 81yo Vietnam Era Vet and this scooter seems perfect!!
It is almost perfect!
I really enjoyed this trip up the canyon ! Makes for a great video . I'm not an experienced motor
cycle rider yet, but I would have to agree with others here that an adventure ride is what you make it, regardless of terrain. I can't understand the loss of subscribers, however I'm here for the long haul as I enjoy your content ; I subscribed back when you first had your Vulcan S. Thanks, and ride on!
Morning!
Mornin!
Excellent video,thanks.
Thanks for watching!
In response to your question about buying ADV bikes...I think if you like the bike... and it does what you want it to do.... then that settles it. No rules about where you have to go or how you use it... it's YOUR bike. Nobody else's.
I’m from Yakima
but we should go ride sometime
Thanks for taking us along on the canyon ride.
The bike is so quiet
