Being from Texas, they (Dime & Vin) were huge Cowboys fans. As far as live, they put on one hell of a show. Great guys too. Spent a handful of hours backstage after the one and only time I saw Pantera live. Dime was the most genuine, down to earth, rockstar I've ever met. Such an amazing guy, treated us like he'd known us since grade school. RIP Dime and Vin. You are missed.
I grew up in the NE Dallas area and remember vividly when this album came out. It was a much needed kick in the ass of the music scene, and them being a local band made it so much sweeter! They were our pride and joy!
Need to check out "I'm Broken" and "Mouth for War" as well. Then its time for Floods and Suicide Note Part 1 & 2 (listen to both parts at the same time).
I am from North Texas and they used to play all around me when I was a kid. Back in the day before Phil joined when Terry was on lead vocals! I miss that band!! Metal will never be the same...
What's up Dave, I used to watch them at a small bar in Shreveport LA called the Circle in the Square and they were playing most of the songs on the Power Metal cd and they would also throw in a Metallica or Ted Nugent song every now and then.
This was the first song I ever from Pantera. It was the summer of 1989 or 90. But they blew me away! The wild thing about this song is that the "We're takin over this town" part is really close to Phil's normal voice.
My favorite thing is waiting to see how Lex describes the sound of a singers voice. Like the sound of cutting hair with a razor! Love it! I’ve heard her say a voice sounded like pop rocks popping on your tongue, another voice was like a lava lamp and another was like leather moccasins! So creative!
BECOMING!!! That song changed my life as a young man... lyrics hit h9me and helped me to walk tall and kick ass, when I needed to... no more the small one, the weak one, the frightened one..... THANK YOU PANTERA.... RIP VIN AND DIME!!
Top 3!!! To be sure, this song is about their declaration that they were going to take over the metal scene and dominate live at the time (1990). It became a rule that you didn’t follow PANTERA live; they’d crush anyone live with their intensity and fan energy. No one could match their live energy. Phil had complete command and authority over the crowd. I saw them live in 2000 (their last tour). React to “Hellbound” pretty please. Lex will love the heaviness. 🤘

Hey guys, welcome to the PANTERA Nation! I've been listening to this band for 30+ years and it never gets old. I saw them live more than a dozen times including when they were a bar band in the late 80's promoting a cd called "Power Metal" and yes Lexi, you would have loved seeing them live ( it was almost like getting in a fight). Anyway, you should definitely check out "Revolution Is My Name" and also "I'm Broken". Glad I found your channel.
Yes every single time that I ever saw them in concert they were incredible the energy the intensity how they played every single lick was perfect I mean it was pretty much flawless that's why I've seen them half a dozen or more times and that was in a very short time in my life like a five-year span
"Mouth for war" is my favorite pantera song! Absolute great choice. THE WORKOUT SONG. Just go for a lyrics video. Definitely not live with Pantera (Band is absolutely perfect though and Phil has great energy but he cannot reproduce the studio vocals for the most part.)
They actually play Cowboys From Hell at AT&T Stadium quite a bit. Vinnie Paul was a HUGE Cowboys fan! They even wrote a song for the Dallas Stars. Too bad you will never get to see em live. Rest In Power Dime & Vinnie!! 🤘
First time I saw them live I was not able to get too close to the stage but I noticed people around me acting odd. As soon as you heard the first note played and the lights came on I felt a flame behind me. They set off a bonfire and started moshing around. I got pulled in for a few songs.
This is my favorite PanterA song. You can't help but nod your head. The lyrics are great. If I'm headed into a stressful situation, I think of this song to get my confidence up. "Why was that report late?' "STEP ASIDE, WE'RE THE COWBOYS FROM HELL!!' LOL!
it's the groove. gotta have that groove. I love the changes too, but you gotta do it and let us fall back into a groove pretty quick. Phil's vocals on this album were ridiculous. Great reaction!
That consistency you like is considered "Groove" which is why Pantera is sometimes called Groove metal... its the perfect feeling for mosh pits too! Pantera had a lot of groove.
This was actually the 2nd album with vocalist Phil Anselmo. PanterA had a few more before Phil came to the band in 1988. But this is the one in 1990, that put them on the Power Groove thrash metal scene! 🤠's From🔥! 🎸🤘🏼

Now, the reason I don't exactly member is, well cause of lots of coorslight and good ole Crown. 😂😂 getcha pull!! Love watching the Pantera reactions, and glad Brad finally enjoyed one haha. Respect and love y'all!
Saw them once in 1997 and it changed my life. Most bands, even in the 90s where it was a lot more laid back, had a clean and professional look about them. Pantera came out carrying bottles of Jagermeister and Wild Turkey and drank like fish through the whole performance but still played like this. They were the band who absolutely had zero Fs to give. They even stopped the show at one point to discipline the audience for not SWEARING loud enough. They didn't care about anything other than ripping it up on stage. The only other band I've ever seen I'd put attitude wise in the same category as Pantera would be a band called Overkill.
How funny that you mention that this should be the theme for the Dallas Cowboys. Pantera was based in Texas and actually wrote the post-goal song for the Dallas Stars called "Puck Off." Its perfect 🤟
The Cowboys have more money than any sports team in the world and could afford to buy the entire catalog of any rock band they wanted. One song from a metal band wouldn't even warrant an expense report. But regardiess, Pantera (other than Phil) are from Dallas and would gladly give the song to the Cowboys for free. They are huge sports fans and hung out with the Dallas teams in the 90s. They actually did make a song for the Dallas Stars and I would argue it's part of the reason the Stars won the Stanley Cup that year (1999). Good memories. :) When the band first came back to play Dallas after breaking big, it was so insane the police eventually shut it down. I was there and definitely scared at times. It was in the old Reunion Arena where the Stars and Mavericks used to play and the idiots put down free standing chairs that weren't connected to anything and could be moved....or say...thrown. To make matters worse, there was a Stars game scheduled for later that night so there was ice underneath the removable hardwood sections of the basketball court. You can probably see where this is going. Sections of hardwood were pulled up to expose ice and the wood itself was used hold people as they body surfed across the crowd. A mosh pit was flailing around on the ice, chairs are being launched to and fro, people are going onto the stage and diving back into the crowd and big sections of wood flooring were being pushed through the arena on top of the crowd's outstretched arms with 5 or 6 people on them. The police shut it down and that was probably the right decision...lol. Here is a UA-cam video that tells the story of Pantera's Dallas Star's fight song.... ua-cam.com/video/15DCrD9FgjA/v-deo.html

Lets just appreciate their bassist for keeping up pace with dime
The song and album that put one of the best metal bands on the map. RIP Dime and Vinnie. Damnit I hope when it’s my time to leave this world the music in heaven is gonna be insane!
They were playing on the stereo types, from Texas and metal band, hence cowboys from hell!!!
Pantera were what you could call groove metal. Saw them live and it was amaaaaaazing. Got on stage and dove off. lol
Brad & Lex , I loved your reactions! Greetings from Brazil
Metal Kings🤘🤘PANTERA!!!
R.I.P. Dime & Vinnie
Lol. When she said "were talking over this town!" I freaking laughed out loud.
That "consistency" Lex is called the
"Groove".
Welcome to Groove Metal 🤠
Shes a metal head by nature. You can tell by the way she's jamming to this shit.
I remember the first time I heard this. I was scared because I was in a metal band and I saw the future. I had some doubts. HAIRY.
One of the most fun guitar riffs to play
Hi Brad Hi Lexi. Brilliant reactions as usual .
You were both getting into the groove 👍🤘
I think a good track to check out would be Mouth for War.
Keep on rockin' guys.
Looking forward to your next reaction. Take care and stay safe 👍✌️🤘
Reaction "Ghost Love Score" from Nightwish - Live Wacken 2013
That Dallas Cowboy comment was fire! YES!
This came out when the Cowboys were winning Superbowls. We played it for every touchdown starting in the playoffs.
i just love Phil's voice in this sooooo much. :)
Lex is such a metal head and I love it!!
Pantera, Live? You have no idea. Saw these guys four times, brutal pits.
You gotta react to Revolution Is My Name - Pantera
i love watching her.. i think i saw a few little ghost cowboy from hell horses fly out of her ears and circle her head a few times
CFH4L Dime is my favorite guitar player. I have a Dimebag tattoo and a Pantera leg
Check out Pantera's song Avoid The Light, it's a kick ass song about vampires.
Lex vibing, love it 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
You’ll want Halloween/vampire vibeType O Negative the band. React to album version none of the edited version 👍
Yea, they should do Type O for October. I think some of the album versions to their songs might drag on a bit for these two tho.
@@thehoundofhorror5120 can’t have a short attention span for Type O so never mind 😐
Pyretta blaze one of my favs.
@@thehoundofhorror5120 "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend" or "Love You to Death" are a little more accessible for first time listeners.
Phil once described it as "heavy metal you can dance to"
She is definitely a metal head. Every time I see their reaction to a metal band or anything rock-ish she is definitely vibing with it.
