It is the year 2023. Derek Sanders released a solo EP on April 14th. On it there's a song with Jason Lancaster, called 'For Dear Life'. Who would've guessed 💛

Great take. Will keep following anything Jason does, but the dual vocals in Mayday = perfection.

In like 2012, Mayday Parade and Go Radio went on tour together and I think Jason sang one song with MP. All of my scene dreams came true that night.

Dude I love this video! Watching you talk about Jason and Mayday feels like hanging out with a best friend! I ADORED A Lesson In Romantics as an album, and Go Radio's Welcome To Life EP. I was lucky enough to see Mayday do the 10 year anniversary shows of A Lesson In Romantics in NYC and, despite not having Jason with them on stage, they still killed it. I'll never tire of those songs. I actually did a cover of Forever My Father back in '09 and I remember Go Radio commenting on it and everything. I also performed Forever My Father with a friend after their dad's funeral. Those are some very special songs to me, and Jason's music will always have a place in my heart. PS. I think Your Birthday Song is the best Go Radio song by a mile!

I wasn’t sure you were going to talk about the live set but was a great explosion of YES I said the same thing when I saw it! Haha. It’s incredible what Mayday has done starting with Sunnyland - really finding their sound after Jason’s influence. Would love to see some collaborations!

COOL memory is escorting Jason to Tallahassee taking Highway 27 in nothing short of speeding... ahem.. (we were late for the show, two Mustangs were involved ... ours, and the one he was in with our mutual friend), watching him perform live, then going to a afterparty of sorts and hearing just HIM sing to a livingroom full of people. Lordy be. Great memory. (:

Jamie all over was a kid named Chicago song before it was released as a mayday parade song it was also written about a dream Jason had about a girl he was in love with at the time here in Georgia. His little brother/my beast friend is the guest vocalist at the end of Jamie all over

Jason actually kept writing music but it was religious music. It released it under his last name with no vowels called LNCSTR. I understand why people may not be into addi g religion in with their music, but his voice is like no other and if you Cana get past the message and the words and just take it as a piece of music art, everything he's written is great. Even the religious record. The song "Forever" is a powerhouse!

Oh man, Jason is the king. Best songwriter with the most honest voice in the genre. I was so bummed, albeit for selfish reasons, when he went and found Jesus because he stopped making music. I hope he found what he was looking for, but I am ready for more music from my favorite musician.

i just discovered Go Radio couple days ago. i was looking at cd's and saw the album do overs and second chances and bought it on a whim since it was only 1$ and by fearless records. I really like the album. when i first heard it i was thinking he sound similar to mayday parade. then after watching your video i just found out he was an old member of the band. Very cool and interesting.

Have you heard his new 2020 EP? Mayday Parades drummer plays on it & it's pop punk!!! It's called 'Say I'm What You Want'.
Have you considered doing an EARLY DAYS OF MAYDAY PARADE? IMO Jason Lancaster & Ryan Ross are the most underrated in music & 2 that I feel got royally screwed over by their band mates.I agree 100% JLs best projects are A Lesson In Romantics & Do Overs And Second Chances.
    BTW best co vocalists:
    •Jason Lancaster & Derek Sanders
    •Ryan Ross & Brendan Urie
    •Tom Delonge & Mark Hoppus

i like it a lot! i think its probably their best since the self titled album

    • @jacoba2901
      @jacoba2901 5 років тому +1

@@thecozyrep I definitely agree man. I absolutely loved sunnyland... it had some more mature elements and shows growth and yet has that original mayday magic that black lines (though it was a decent album) just didn't have. and, in my opinion; besides just out of reach and keep in mind... black lines just wasn't on par with mayday's discography.
anyway I agree that sunnyland was great.
also, @the cozy representative, I completely agree with what you said about taking back sunday and og mayday being among the best pop punk vocal teams. I mean go radio and mayday parade are both great but they propel through the stratosphere when sanders and lancaster sing together. I'm not really a country fan at all but the two of them made "gotta be strong" great, maybe even incredible. and lazzara and mascherino as well as lazzara and nolan are phenomenal vocal teams too but you gotta add tom delonge and mark hoppus to complete the list.
