  • I finally got a chance to return to one of my favorite rockhounding beaches. The water has been up since April 2nd, completely submerging the area. As a surprise birthday gift, the water level finally dropped to less than nine feet on the river gauge in St. Louis, giving me the opportunity to head out and see what pretty treasures the river had left for me.

The only rock you'll ever find smother than these at this location will have come out of a rock tumbler. So smooth! I heard the honey agates came from Nebraska but I can't confirm that. I wanna find a LSA here!

My favorite find from there was about a inch and a half piece of a Keokuk geode that was still in really good shape, you could immediately recognize that rind!

It's such a cool place , like nothing is a top quality muelseum specimen piece, but if there is a rock or mineral, you're looking for that beach will have it

Trust me I did I learned so much also if you’re wondering I was the kid that asked what your channel was and you gave me your card and I was the kid that said the horse shoe crab looked like a alien

Awesome, and I agree they do look alien.
Hopefully I can come back next year and bring newer fossils and cool rocks and minerals
