I've been extending the use of my plates by having a higher level of protection in the front. Running say, a level 4 up front and a 3 in back (or a 5/6 fir front and a 3/4 back) Saves some money, weight, and I can use the extra higher level plate in another carrier. Doesn't seem to compromise a lot of survivability either, because I'm either eating a round from a sniper and turning around, or getting mag dumped and I'd have died regardless of protection.

@@hallow6763 if you get one of the hideout craft plates in deadscav, caches, weapon boxes you can multiply them and I think you dont need to do the lighthouse quests, just upgrade lavatory to lvl 3 and to the required quest for craft.

once you get (1) GAC 3s15m ballistic plate and level 3 Lavatory you can use it to craft the TacTec (in 7 hrs) and it comes with (2) !!! just do this over and over for a few days and start stacking up level 5 plates !!! :D
ive bought TONS of lvl 5/6 plates from fence and simply repaired them. anything else than ceramic plates repair to almost full nomatter how damaged they are, and they are for sale pretty often, just gotta snipe them faster than everyone else
i honestly think the armors need to have all their soft armors buffed to level 3 if the armor was previousely level 3 or higher, lvl 2 soft armor barely stops anything, even scav ammo shoots through it, there is no reason we should be paying 100k for level 2 soft armor. it wont effect pvp much outside of people using flesh meta (they shooting for arms or legs anyways) but it will make scav deaths a little less frustrating
One of the things I've been doing is buying a trooper on flea, and swapping the plates out with the kirassa. Nobody touches the kirassa, you will almost always get it back and on top of that, the level 3 plates in the trooper can be used for loot runs or questing.
Unfortunately people are becoming more wise to it by the day. It's becoming harder and harder to snag an armor that someone didn't know to take the plates out of. So far this has been my main source of lvl4 plates. Personally I use the M2 rig since it's chronically underpriced imo, idk why people don't like it. I also have the zhuk craft going nonstop and I snag the rear plates to put in the back of the M2 since I'm fine with lower level plates there.
I got lucky and killed Gluhar at level 9 and he had a tactec on. Now that i know i can eventually make infinite i'll make sure i save one of the GAC's. Also, if you're reaaaallly patient and reaaaally fast - you can occasionally see one of those plates popup on Fence.

Having just watched your settings guide a few days ago I understand why you have your game settings where they are for when you're streaming, but might I suggest bumping those textures back up a smidge if possible when recording for UA-cam? As a first source for GAC 3s15m plates, you get an Ars Arma CPC MOD.1 (with two plates) as a reward for Living High is Not a Crime Part 2. From then on you can craft.

i think soft armor does not really matter 99% of the time. ap6.3, PS, PBM and many other rounds are really accessible this wipe. lvl 3 pen ammo is kind of the base most players sit on. hard to get anything better (all locked at lvl 4 except m80 and t46m) and any soft armor just gets useless by that. i get shot through my chest all the time although i wear lvl 4 or 5 bec the new armor system combined with ammo access just is not really balanced.
Now look please dont judge me but i rather prefer weight over protection so id go for the Press armor or Korund and leave the side plates out. YES PEOPLE CAN SHOOT ME IN THE SIDES but ive never died to sides yet
I dont like the changes they did this wipe, since I always tried to avoid doing quests on reserve and lighthouse. Like actually not going there at all but so much shoot we had access to normally is now locked behind quests and quests on those maps. Its kinda a bummer for those who would just like to play the game. I hit 35 this wipe without going on those maps at all, but on my way up there I was missing basic stuff like m80/tier5 armors and other shenanigans. Hope they make side progression more of a thing where those items get unlocked at a certain progression of quests. Like m80 either gets available after marking the helicopter or doing bullshit on customs or something interchangeable
You don't like going there because the game play tends to be more difficult on lighthouse. You can't expect to get the best stuff when you don't want to do some of the harder quests.
@@PDitty757 Nobody likes going there because the map is garbaggio. Lighthouse is the biggest mistake they made, even after having learned through their initial release of customs how bad of a design it was, they still went through with it.

If we can fix the problem of taken 3x damage from one single round, then level 2 armor makes sense for soft armor. Armored rigs don’t stop bullets until they have plates. Period.
I just unlocked the craft last night and the first thing I checked was if using one plate got you one or two plates. Doubling the plates is crazy good and definitely my go to for now on

make sure you save as much RAM as possible. looks for optimization videos and close browsers when I have a map open it eats over 1 GB of ram sometimes and I have game on HDD and takes 10 minutes to load sometimes but whenI close it goes down to 5-6 mins but good settings will help you the most
I have access to all armors in the game including the Zabralo barter and from my testing the rat rig 6B3TM-01 basically gives me the most protection honestly. I would unironically revise my personal armor tier list and put this in A or S tier and almost everything else as irrelevant looter rig tier garbage. Only good armors are the Gen4 Assault Kit, Defender-2 and Osprey (P) but they all have various downsides. I feel as if I have hoarded plates and done clever barters in the past for nothing as I dont even care to run any of these armors tbh. I have a lot of Tier 6 plates from the slick barter I did when it was basically free before people realized the resell values etc. Running the heavy armors still gets you instantly killed by 9milimeter AP to the collar bone yet the rat rig literally gives better protection in this vulnerable spot that matters for PVP a lot. Makes me think the whole system is still full of game breaking bugs with how powerful this rat rig armor feels in practice. Also tip for another video: Insurance seems to be bugged and some armors are basically free to insure like the bastion costs 400 roubles and the rat rig 500 etc.

You can't have realistic hitboxes for armor, when you don't have realistic player hitboxes. No, my shoulder is not a vital area, that's not where my heart is, getting 1 tapped there is neither realistic nor balanced. Still only wearing a Uley. Made the mistake of wearing Korund with T5 plates in dorms... got 1 tapped in the chest with a shotgun (from the front). Never wore armors with plates again. What a joke.

i'm actively running m855a1 m856a1 , 545 BP and BP , 7.62 bp and pp stacked on top of rounds that can decently pen level 3 armors with level 2 traders and finding ammo in raid.

PPS: Vector .45 is opened up to you as .45 FMJ is completely viable at this time of wipe.

You don't need to use leg meta, the class 5 armor only has class 2 or 3 armor on most of the rig anyways. Just play like normal and you'll probably kill them anyways
