As long as its not trimmed or colored in or a patch was swapped or a signature that was off card is wiped so its back on the card, ITS FINE to use liquid or wax to clean up any surface issues.
Completely agree with Darren on the card cleaning issue. I clean my cards all the time. Sometimes cards come with glue or small scratches or extra lent on the edges. I don’t see a problem cleaning it
Yep collectors was blocking both fanatics and ccg from buying sgc. You just saw ccg buy jsa as a fall back.
I received an email from PSA. It reads:
I apologize for the delay in my reply. I am a little behind with emails and am actively working to catch up.
At this time, there are no future plans to include SGC graded cards in the PSA Set Registry competitive or Showcase sets.

Great interview and great PSA/SGC discussion. Collectors really needs to come out and say what the long-term plan is. It’s creating confusion for customers. Is one going to be the premium brand and the other the discount brand? I’m sure a lot of folks would like to know before submitting their cards.
I do vintage baseball and many cards have surface wax. I clean the wax off the front. Cards were not produced with wax on them but happens in the packaging process. I say it's okay to clean the cards with a micro-fiber cloth.
That’s a wild statement to say you, Support, Kurt, Card care. But then also say you don’t support any sort of liquid or wax which is literally the thing that he’s known for. What are you guys talking about? And I agree completely with Kurt, there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking care of your cards. There’s no altering going on at all, this is a bunch of dudes at PSA just deciding that they don’t like something.
There are a few of his methods that do cross the line into altering.
@@richardbianco9674which ones do you think cross the line?
@10thinningcards pressing corners/ edges, using humidity/liquid to even out dings, and although grade is already determined, his method of working a pin hole
COLLECTORS own SGC not PSA
Don’t be that guy. Everyone knows that. They both know that
PSA allows for 60-40 centering for 10s. Hell, they allow 75-25 on the back!
If you can clean then you can clean the Edges with a Fresh Trim Cut... Why Not ✂️ Car Wax.... Clear Floor Leveler.... ITS ALL ALTERED
HOW ABOUT ACCEPT WHAT THE CARD YOU HAVE IS.... JUST ACCEPT YOU DO NOT HAVE A PSA 10.... OR 8 OR 7 ACCEPT IT. ACCEPT WHAT YOU HAVE....😢😢😢😢😢😅😂
Most of the 2009 contenders Curry autographs are crap
What about the Geoff Wilson controversy?
I remember when Becket first go into grading and there was so much excitement. BGS did well early on and not sure what happened for their down fall.
Fanatics should look at FCG if they want a grading company.
I love Beckett and will always use them first . I’m also not a follower :)
The cleaning kits makers don’t even back their own product with a guarantee, do not list ingredients, and hide their cert numbers. But, you expect me to believe it’s safe and won’t have long term problems???
Beckett did that with bccg and it failed miserably. So no that won't happen
Surely the card manufacturer can come up with something to avoid flying around people to witness it.. Couldn't they have the athletes record the session, that way they have a record for audit purposes and avoid the questioning of the integrity...
Right now I think Kurt’s Card Care Kit is about 4-times better of an investment than Windex or Simple Green
TAG does all this already. They offer card cleaning, the BEST specs with AI and the best looking slabs. But hey, to each there own.
Yes, TAG doesn’t use any chemical solutions, waxes or polishes to clean the cards. Unlike those card kits that are actually altering cards.
If PSA starts allowing the pressing and smoothing of cards, then they’ll have to re-grade all those thousands of cards formally in screw-down holders that they’ve deemed altered.
They wont care, you are giving them your money 😂
@@jeremyheyman8952 True... it may have been their game-plan all along!
This is an excellent video. Very informative. I wonder if Rovell's big announcement in mid-April deals with him starting a website / newsletter / portal about the collectibles business? Says he's done a round with gambling, with the sports biz, and his next one might be the card hobby? Kind of tracks.
Best episode yet. Love this video. Thank you!
I like Darren’s take on the card altering definition. Great video guys
Didn't psa just run an ultra modern special price drop..
And Geoff just said he believes Psa will raise their modern prices??? Better hurry up and get those will Grier cards graded!!
get rid of the redemptions. If they don't want to sign leave them out of the autos.
Psa didn't buy sgc, collectors did. Huge difference
How so? Collectors owns PSA also.
@@lynnecrader7748 collectors universe is a parent company. They own multiple other companies. If psa bought sgc, it would be like a merger. With collectors buying them, they can stay completely separate
And no pay isn't. The average hourly rate for graders is very close. Where you are guys getting this crap
soooo, is PSA gonna wipe my son's booger off the card or should I?
Stick to rare vintage not this new garbage the losses are scary ,,
Slippery slope on Kurt’s Card Care. If it’s so acceptable, why is it never disclosed? I would not want one… pressed out creases and wrinkles can return over time.
Why would it have to be disclosed? Using a spray no one should expected to disclose that. If your removing wrinkles or creases sure
The card care stuff really sucks bc it will make it impossible to get a 10 without using some kind of care. Psa should create there on kit. Cash in on it and say everything in the kit is allowed when preparing a card for grading. And if other stuff/methods are used, it will make the card upgradable etc. just like in baseball with supplements. Everything on the list is approved. If it’s not on the list then it’s banned
It happens with comics all the time. there are channels dedicated to pressing and cleaning comics. this is a non issue.
Difference is its been allowed in comics the whole time like coins, cards it hasn't been
THIS $HIT IS RUINING THE HOBBY... LISTEN BACK TO THIS.... AND RUINING THE GRADING GAME BECAUSE PEOPLE DONT WANT TO ACCEPT WHAT THEY HAVE OR GET...
And no pay isn't. The average hourly rate for graders is very close. Where you are guys getting this crap
