I made a run to Louisville last month and this time the tasting station was manned. I was looking for the Old Forester Single Barrel cask strength and tried the Bondstone Triple Oak. I thought it smelled terrific and tasted sweet, but not TOO sweet. I agree the finish is nothing special, but I decided to buy a bottle. Your review is one of the few this bottle has received and pretty much lines up with my own thoughts. I'd buy it again and want to try it up against a Woodford Reserve Double Oaked (never gonna find the WR triple oaked).
@@jeffwinbush5039 Definitely try it up against WR Doable Oak, I think WR is a little friendlier to new bourbon drinkers. Did you find your Old Forester Single Barrel Cask Strength?
I Love the Double Oaked more than this Triple Oaked. I am newer to the Burbon scene and even though I think this is a Good Sipper, I personally like the Double Oaked more. Thanks for your review. Oh and that GUY on the RIGHT, IS NOT INDIANA JONES! I would say more of a Cal Naughton JR maybe.
Im kinda new to the bourbon drinkin but I asked for a recommendation for something similar to 4 roses single barrel at total wine and the guy recommended this so I bought it. I think it’s good but I wonder if they just reccomend it to everyone no matter what 😖I didn’t realize it was a total wine brand.
@@vwking2000 probably depends on the employee.. even in smaller liquor stores you don't find a lot of people that actually really love drinking and are familiar with bourbon, they just work there most of the time. Glad you enjoyed it regardless!
I'm actually sipping on this bourbon as I watch this, and I definitely get some of the pineapple and cinnamon. Technically, this is my first bourbon and I like it.
@@highballmedia I'm actually enjoying wiskey. I had scotch for the first time a few weeks ago that was good. I like the sweetness of bourbon better. Can't wait to try different brands of it all.

@@vwking2000 Four Roses is high rye, so for a more affordable and excellent bottle you might also like Old Granddad 114.
