I literally watched part 1 for the first time yesterday and was shattered when I saw there was no part 2. Imagine my surprise when this dropped today. We have truly been blessed by the emperor.
White Scars and Chogoris itself have one of the most fascinating views on Psykers in the Imperium. They nurture them and find them early, teach them that the power is a Test, the Test of Heaven more specifically. They instill the mutation as a challenge to be overcome and eventually, harmonize with. No psykers born on Chogoris on record have fallen to Chaos, let alone blown themselves up, thanks to the martial and mental discipline they instill in their psykers from childhood.
Because the emperors whole schtick is we don't know what his plan is and he is specifically designed to be flawed, like a human, or have darker intentions to let them fight amongst each other to ascend to godhood. The lore is great man, enjoy it as it is.
@maltheri9833 He was too busy just trying to find them, and then too busy trying to make humanity chaos-free with the Webway project. Early on with Horus, Russ, Ferrus, Fulgrim, Vulkan, Dorn, and the rest of the early discoveries Big E spent much more time mentoring the primarchs one-on-one. None ever got as much time dedicated to them as Horus did, but that just goes to show that the big guy's influence wasn't really all that important in how they turned out. By the time of Angron and Alpharius? The guy clearly had no interest in dedicating any time whatsoever to counselling them once discovered. It's implied this is due to some rapidly advancing timeline, whether that is the Horus Heresy itself (as Malcador implies) or some other cause. Daddy Emps decided it was time to go full steam ahead on his Webway project almost immediately after all the primarchs had been discovered, and it can be assumed that he believed their brother primarchs would handle the mentorships themselves. Don't look at 40k for this kinda stuff, look at 30k. Much more well-defined and it explains a lot of the idiosyncrasies that 40k has.
@maltheri9833 You haven't reached the point yet where you think that the Emperor's plans weren't likely entirely benevolent. I certainly don't think so, but the whole point is that he is ambiguous and difficult to understand, as is the vast majority of 40K when it is at it's best. We aren't supposed to think that the authoritarian God Emperor who is responsible for the suffering of countless trillions of human due to a tyrannical dictatorship that IS entirely his fault is a purely good figure. That would be a twisted message. Strap in for more moral ambiguity and confusion if you are going to keep diving into 40K. That is what it is about. It does not need a rewrite.
@maltheri9833You can enjoy 40k without its convoluted lore, simply stick to the game or meme or even just outright choose one in universe perspective and go ham with it. What does not make sense here is the reason why you watch lore videos when you refused to be surrounded by ambiguity, guesswork, and questionable explanation to begin with. It's like you hate coffee but watching 2 hours video about in depth research of caffeine benefit in coffee but commenting that coffee suck and we all should just drink decaf , doesnt make sense, right? Hey Leutin, just wanted to say thanks. I'm not currently trying to sleep, and its been over 10 years since I painted any minis or played 40k, but I do listen to you pretty much constantly in my workshop whilst I put projects together. I found you about 2 months ago after watching and rewatching the fanmade Astartes animation, and Ive since, thanks to your excellent delivery of lore, gotten into the Gaunts Ghosts series on Audible, and listen to your videos at work every day. Love all your work, especially when you're krumpin' some Ork smarts into me 'ead (love that voice you do its perfect). Takes real commitment to sift through 40k lore so I salute you. Thanks for reigniting my love of the stories of 40k and showing me plenty of new ones. P.S. WHITE SCARS MENTIONED! In all seriousness though, one of the best legions in both aesthetics and lore. Shame they don't get the same respect and attention as some others get (Fists, Blood Angels, Dark Angels etc). If you want to continue the character series: Shiban Khan/Torghun (pretty please), or someone like Ingo Pech/Autillon Skorr. (mostly because very few others covers these and not even at length).
Hearing your explanation of the Ultramarines, and the quiet, solitude they endure because of the guilt they feel has certainly humanized them more than anything GW has ever done.
Yeah it was the ultimate failure for them - they simply couldn't be where they were needed when they were needed, so they could not aid the Imperium in its darkest hour. For a master of grand strategy and logistics like Guilliman it must have been absolutely crushing.
the ultramarines went from the most dull chapter to one of the most interesting thanks to the heresy novels filling out their history.. as flawed as the heresy novels may be they have done wonders in making the astartes relatable and interesting.. taking the 30k gulliman and planting him back in the 40k present day really revitalised my interest in the current time line where as before i found 30k far more intresting
It has been only 6 months after 1st part? I relistened this one while laying in bed week or two ago and thought something like "I am sure he has forgotten to deliver that followup he promised us long time ago... He takes so many projects at once..."
As always, Luetin delivers superb content. Content that someone like me, who does not own a single miniature and has never played a 40K related game, is more than happy to see uploaded. And digest every single second of it. Bless you, Loremaster.
"We remained true." Luetin, you have no idea how much I needed to hear this today. Yesterday I was diagnosed with a mental disorder. I'm not young and I've struggled all my life. I didn't know there was something wrong with me. But also suspected. Still, I have never, and will never stop trying to and be better. That quote feels very...very apt. And I may end up tattooing it on myself one day. Because I have always remained true. I have always fought.
Go Custodes. As said... a solid bridge before the lights go out and the whispers begin to creep closer. Really enjoyed these 2 episodes, and really appreciate seeing my beloved Wolves, and hearing the sagas and teachings of old. A full video on just the wolves, that get's my vote any day. However, whatever chapters comes ahead in any order, the overall lore and events binding all together in different times and different campaigns is all thrilling and educational, so just keep doing what you do man 👌
Rarely posting comments on anything but feel compelled to do so now. Going trough severe depression these past 6 months and warhammer lore along with your amazing narration provides some respite. Week ago my grandma sadly passed away and this video brought some light to my grimdarkness. Thank you so much for everything you do, from the bottom of my heart!
I am going throught very hard times right now! I can not sleep and i am physically and mentally tired! As it stupid as it may sound.. Your videos make me think of myself as a space marine on a solitude planet. Wandering around tired and devastated! But as long as i have two hearts and three lungs i will march and fight on the solitude and the hordes of dangers! The emperor watches over me! My armor is a wall! my bolter a spear to tear appart tyranny and bring back hope in the darkness of my future! Thank you for inspiring my imagination and giving me back a little bit of strenght! Luetin my brother i love your videos!
Cerberus.. You are not Cerberus, you are Garviel Loken! Remember, you are a Luna Wolf - Not a Son of Horus! May the Emperor Protect your sleep, brother. One day, we'll all have more than enough of it. Make the best of the waking time we have. For the Imperium!
Your videos got me into Warhammer some two years ago, from some random recommendation in my feed, and I've been absolutely hooked ever since. Consuming books, audio books, artworks, and lore everywhere i can, And I say with absolute confidence, you're one of a very few youtubers I get genuinely excited about when you drop a video. Thank you for your work.
I appreciate getting to learn about The White Scars in this video. From all the Lore vids I have consumed, The White Scars has been the one Loyalist chapter I've known the least about, followed by The Iron Hands.
Your outros never fail to leave us inspired, also that quote from Jaghatai was epic. You deserve a lot more subs than you currently have. Love your work as always LT
So im one of the "luetin sleep club" members, but I also listen to these when I work or study because I find being slightly distracted help me think clearer for some reason. Also, im in chronic pain after an accident that cost me my right leg, and sometimes these videos are really nice as a distraction and something to focus on. So yeah, id say they give me personally ALOT of value.
The loremaster has returned. Praise the Emperor, Omnissiah, and the Motive Force for the clarity of his words, the depth of his knowledge, and the tranquil sounds of his voice. Praise the Emperor, praise the Loremaster.
It's kind of awesome that you've embraced the sleepytime storyteller position. i've pretty bad insomnia and the times when i do fall asleep i tend to have nightmares. Your voice/way of storytelling has this quality that lulls me into that good sleep, and it has given me some of the most awesome dreams i've ever had.
Nice early Turkey Day gift for those of us in the States 😊 Custodes as an intermediary episode before going over the traitors sounds solid to me; they could also be something that follows after the traitors since they precede all Astartes. Decision is entirely yours; I think I speak for many in that we're gonna watch and listen no matter which order you ultimately decide on.
I'm very happy that you put so much effort into the White Scars. I've often gotten the feeling that people regard them as a backwards legion that just likes to go fast. After reading the White Scars book and watching your videos I've gained a huge respect for them. They are easily my favorite chapter. Now to learn to paint white.
The White Scars became my favorite as well with Scars and then Path Of Heaven. Yesugei is my favorite SM from the Horus Heresy era. I definitely agree they don't get enough Love
It's hilarious that for you this series is just a basic outline so far, meanwhile for me this is a total Astartes lore deep dive. My hat goes off to you man, really great work. You balance the depth of detail and accessibility for more casual lore enjoyers like myself really well. And as always, the narration and accompanying artwork are top notch. When it comes to 40K lore, you're the best to ever do it as far as I'm concerned.
As someone who does not collect Space Marines your Astartes videos help forge a greater appreciation of them. Whether that's as opponents on the table top or in another in depth lore video. Thankyou for your content. For the Emperor.
Wonderful quote by the Khan. One thing, I think i read in the "Dark Imperium" books that guilliman does not "need" his armor anymore in the sense that he will be in pain, but is able to move without it. Obv. if i made a mistake i apologize to the loremaster.
You are correct. Also in Avenging Son, he is shown to meditate without wearing the armor for 2 hours (I think), he keeps trying to go longer and longer without wearing it.
Lutin, I know you will never read this, but I want you to know how much your videos help my insomnia. It's physically painful to fall asleep for me sometimes. I can focus on your voice and it's interesting and relaxing without being stimulating. I literally cannot listen to some stories when I sleep because I will just stay awake. The content is always interesting, which is vital to helping me fall asleep. I can't listen to the same things over and over because I end up getting up and doing something else. I am so happy you make so much great content, thank you so much. 🔥
Just a small correction at 20:52 the Khan WAS killed fully by Mortarion, and he was returned to life not by the Sigillite, but by the Emperor Himself, Malcador could not do it.
I'm sorry for falling asleep but I'm 63 FFS and retired so I take a lot of naps . I do make a time stamp if I feel like I'm about to fall out and always go back to re watch what I missed even if it takes me a week to finish an episode .
Thank you for being a beacon in the Warhammer 40,000 community, guiding us through the vastness of its lore with your enthusiasm and expertise. I don't even paint the miniatures, I just love listening to the lore!
I done the complete opposite to you guys, was firstly into painting the minis, which is what I always associated with warhammer. Then spent the next 20 years learning the lore 😅
Your videos are what got me into 40K lore in the first place. I obviously didn't get a lot of references in the beginning but after reading 48 books in the Horus Heresy series it all makes more sense. Also small note - The Warhawk's name is pronounced Jag - ah - Tie. There's an A between the T and the I at the end.
These two videos helped me get through a sewing project I'd been "getting around to" for a year. Thanks for your work and the calming and straightening effects your words have on my troubled brain!
I probably know most this stuff backwards and forwards, but I'll still watch this anyway, as it's you Luetin! Also, am loving the Zimmer style music on this one :) Definitely a traitor legions one would be good. Always feels less clear how they function compared to their loyalist equivalents.Good luck with nailing down the Alpha Legion! Your point about the discrepancy around how Astartes are thought of in terms of the way they actually function in M41/2, comes from people seeing them the way they were in the heresy, I think.
YEEEES more Luetin Necropolis! I was hoping you hadn’t given up on that. I also watched the SS podcast you featured in and it was a very lovely time. I adore your channel and as always you did an amazing job in this 2 part series. I already know all about the different chapters of astartes but it’s always good to refresh your knowledge, besides, your sultry voice is always a treat. As long as you’ll keep making videos, I’ll keep on watching ‘em, and I’m sure that statement rings true for a lot of other people as well.
1:233:23 I thought Dante, of the Blood Angels is the oldest Chapter Master in the Imperium? Grimnar isn't even the oldest Space Wolf. Ulrik the Slayer trained him, and Björn the Fell-handed is 10.000 years old.
Yooo I have been thinking about this for a minute. Luetin seriously treats 40K lore like a PHD study. Seriously listen to him put reason into a fictional them 40,000 years from now. Gangsta.
"If you're here for the Luetin sleep club, that's fine also" lmao. At least you know your audience bro. I love your videos and watch them awake AND to drift off to sometimes. Keep it up sir!
My dude, your smooth and calm voice together with your obvious passion for 40k makes these videos a blast to watch. My attention span is quite short normally, but you make me listen for well over an hour. And I'm not even invested in warhammer outside of your videos.
Interesting that’s it’s taken this long for Luetin to have dedicated space marine videos. Usually it’s one of the first things a 40k channel makes a video about.
Took me four sleep cycles to get through this amazing content. Please continue with Custodes. From the tidbits in your work so far, they seem like a very interesting group.
Thank you for your in-depth explanations! I am very very new to the 40k universe. I had heard of it but didn't interact much until I met my boyfriend who is a huge fan. I didn't care too much about 40k either but he really wanted me to learn and understand the lore of it. Especially when it came to the Death Korps of Krieg. He sent me one of your videos and the history intrigued me a lot! So now I want to go through your beginner series to impress him! Thank you for explaining everything so concisely! Hope everyone has a great day!
As I member of the Luetin sleep club. It's nice to be reconsidered :D.....I do wonder how many extra views we add to the channel. Because if any of my fellow sleep club members are like me, i will watch the video multiple nights. And each night the video plays in its entirety as I drift off to sleep. Infill that one night, maybe on the weekend you finally finish. :D. Love the videos chap.
I'm about to face a a long a gruelling work shift tomorrow and seeing this pop up in my feed actually made me look forward to it. Thank you Luetin, I appreciate you with your Deus Ex Machine styled save.
luetin i just want to say, your videos brought me a love for a new hobby and helped me to reinvigorate myself, ive currently painted a small army of Custodes since i started watching your channel and the time i spend painting and listening to your lore videos are when i feel calm and when my PTSD just kind of stops even if just for an hour of your videos, you help more than you know brother. i appreciate your content and it gets better with every video, also if you could do the Custodes next it would be fucking amazing
Thank you Luetin for another brilliant video to help me drift off to sleep. Proud member of the Luetin sleep club and I do enjoy rewatching the videos when I am awake. So again thank you so much for all you do :)
The scale issue you discuss around @06:30. I think this is why the Herrsy holds such a fantastic place close to my heart still. I'll never forget the way I read through Prospero Burns the first time. Seeiing the sisters of silence null fielding zones out while these savage Space Vikings are ripping and tearing their way through the battle lines in my minds eye. I was so fully hooked by this point.
You joke about the luetin sleep club, but that little club has been helping me get through four plus years of chronic pain. Thank you for the new video. Sleep club GO TO BED!
Your videos are my favorite things to listen to while painting. As someone who’s only recently gotten into 40k over the past couple months this channel has been my main go-to everyday for awesome long form content I can listen to while creating and it’s just really great so thanks!
My dude. Your videos have pulled me into the lore wholeheartedly. Never touched WH when I was a nerdy kid, more comics and D&D. I now have some Space Wolves and have visited Warhammer World twice. Thank you.
I love the idea of Jaghatai Khan being so frustrated with Rogal Dorn and his "defensive strategies" of building blanket forts everywhere. Khan just wants to go fast man.

if there was one Primarch I want to see return, it's the Khan. He remains my favorite amongst all the Primarchs
"We remained true."
Luetin, you have no idea how much I needed to hear this today.
However, whatever chapters comes ahead in any order, the overall lore and events binding all together in different times and different campaigns is all thrilling and educational, so just keep doing what you do man 👌
"The Luetin Sleep Club", I love this so much. I came for the lore, stayed for the sleep.
Sending warmth and comradeship through this connection of shared appreciation. Take care.
We stand with you brother. Be well x
My condolences, I wish you the best and hope that you find a path forward in your life.
YOU are awesome and YOU are what this verse needs (real fans)
Things get better man. Please be kind to yourself, you matter. We are all here for you.
Btw. Thx for liking this comment. Any kind of support means a lot to me. Stay sane and safe!
Hey brother! Wander around now, I hope you’re feeling better ❤️ be strong
I didn't have a favorite legion/chapter before, but now it's the White Scars. They fit my personality & gameplay style.
I appreciate getting to learn about The White Scars in this video. From all the Lore vids I have consumed, The White Scars has been the one Loyalist chapter I've known the least about, followed by The Iron Hands.
Thanks man had a bad day, this made it a LOT better :) Keep up the good work mate.
Your outros never fail to leave us inspired, also that quote from Jaghatai was epic. You deserve a lot more subs than you currently have. Love your work as always LT
Agreed. Love the outros to your vids.
Usually a member of the sleep club but watched this on the way to and from work today.
Amazing stuff as always.
I have never been called-out with such accuracy in my life. Leutin Sleep Club is real; Leutin Sleep Club is life.
The Lore master has returned!
All praise the Omnisah, his voice shall sooth our ears and hearts.
Pround memeber of the Luetin sleep club. What a relaxing voice
Thank you Luetin09, for all that you have done.
I'm a proud Lueten Sleep Club member! But I watch him when awake as well.
Finally new lore to fall asleep to. I don't even play warhammer
I must say thank you. Your channel pulled me into 40K and I really found a hobby I love!
Sweet.Would love to see Custodes.
This video has lulled me to sleep in under 3min 2 days in a row. I just now heard him mention the sleep club❤
Sick as a dog the past week, hopefully listening to this while I rest will make the last days of kicking the sick a bit easier. Cheers, Leutin.
Nice early Turkey Day gift for those of us in the States 😊
Custodes as an intermediary episode before going over the traitors sounds solid to me; they could also be something that follows after the traitors since they precede all Astartes. Decision is entirely yours; I think I speak for many in that we're gonna watch and listen no matter which order you ultimately decide on.
Shout out to the LT sleep club! Midday knap, after a big lunch = priceless 👌
As always, knocking it out of the park. I'm gonna replay when I go to bed. Luetin Sleep Club.
Traitor legions would be awesome!! Probably be a longer series though as the best way to look at them is as a before and after the fall.
For the Emperor.
oooooohhhhh yeah, finally some good sleep for 4 nights straight
Me too. I don't play any Warhammer 40k games but the lore is so entertaining. Love it.
I done the complete opposite to you guys, was firstly into painting the minis, which is what I always associated with warhammer. Then spent the next 20 years learning the lore 😅
he he Luetin Sleep Club = i will listen the episode multiple times until i hear it all :D
Is there? Is that US English?
I agree wholeheartedly that it is always important to refresh on the core basics. Another great video by the loremaster btw, love it.
Tried to share the first one with my mom, she joined the sleep gang really quick. Great art, Great lore, 40k is fun for something so grim dark.
the Master Archivist once again graces us with his presence
Thank you @Luetin09! For the lore, the passion and devotion, and the sleep you bring to so many!
Definitely Custodes!
1:233:23 I thought Dante, of the Blood Angels is the oldest Chapter Master in the Imperium?
Grimnar isn't even the oldest Space Wolf. Ulrik the Slayer trained him, and Björn the Fell-handed is 10.000 years old.
Dante is the oldest. Also Bjorn doesn't count because dreadnaughts aren't considered as if they were many millennia old Marines would be plentiful.
I love seeing a new video notification. Because yes, sleep club. 😂 love learning more then falling asleep
Luetin Sleep Club is the best
Yooo I have been thinking about this for a minute. Luetin seriously treats 40K lore like a PHD study. Seriously listen to him put reason into a fictional them 40,000 years from now. Gangsta.
Good observation. AFAIK this is a source of income for him, so makes sense.
Other Primarchs "Father".
Leman Russ "Beat me unconcious".
"If you're here for the Luetin sleep club, that's fine also" lmao. At least you know your audience bro. I love your videos and watch them awake AND to drift off to sometimes. Keep it up sir!
The custodes pls, as always love the content ❤.
Valdor Birth of the Imperium is a nice start into the lore. For the prologue alone^^
Sleep club member checking in! 🫡
Sleep club member about to check out 😴😴😴
My dude, your smooth and calm voice together with your obvious passion for 40k makes these videos a blast to watch. My attention span is quite short normally, but you make me listen for well over an hour. And I'm not even invested in warhammer outside of your videos.
Interesting that’s it’s taken this long for Luetin to have dedicated space marine videos. Usually it’s one of the first things a 40k channel makes a video about.
Perfect video to listen to as I drift to sleep. My kind of bedtime story
That of heroes and epic battles, last stands and fierce enemies
Leutin sleep club! 😆to be honest, I do use your videos as background noise to wind down my brain. Great voice, great work! Comment for the AlgoGod.
Luetin, you have been one of the bastions of WH40K lore in these trying times.
&
Custodes FTW
Awwww yeah more Lore drops from the master
Proud member of the Luetin Sleep Club
Re watching Part 2 once again
Continue the good work!
Hey now. I was a part of that sleep club. 😂Needed something to get past the meds/pain/panic attacks. Did the trick. Cheers Mate!
THE GREY KNIGHTS!!!
Of course! One the most secretive and powerful chapters we know.
FUCK YEAH! 1h 40mins Luetin!
ANOTHER WONDERFUL MOVIE.
Thank you again, LoreMaster Luetin
I'm about to face a a long a gruelling work shift tomorrow and seeing this pop up in my feed actually made me look forward to it.
Thank you Luetin, I appreciate you with your Deus Ex Machine styled save.
Sleep club reporting in
I cannot thank you enough. You’re honestly a life saver and I am not being melodramatic
luetin i just want to say, your videos brought me a love for a new hobby and helped me to reinvigorate myself, ive currently painted a small army of Custodes since i started watching your channel and the time i spend painting and listening to your lore videos are when i feel calm and when my PTSD just kind of stops even if just for an hour of your videos, you help more than you know brother.
i appreciate your content and it gets better with every video, also if you could do the Custodes next it would be fucking amazing
Holy Emperor,
today we are once again blessed with a long video from your Loremaster, praise be to you!
Lutin sleep club after night shift is best ❤
The Custodes and a little of king in yellow would be nice. thank you
LT, you just convinced me to buy a space marine set, and of course I needed roboute guilliman. Love that dude
A deep dive into the current situation of the Dark Angels please. Cypher - Lord of the Fallen has raised so many questions...
Nearly 2 hours of Luetin content? Yes please!
