- Hello, guys! Acon Digital has just released their Extract:Dialogue 1.5 and something was telling me it's going to be head to head with Waves Clarity VX, which is the last Wave plugin I'm still using. Is it down by Acon? Let's find out!

De lujo... el review y el extract dialogue!
I agree, Paul, Acon is practically identical to Clarity Vx. I abandoned Waves for good after "subscription-gate" and I don't regret at all :)
Nice to hear, thanks!
I also love their Equalize and Verberate plugins, all coming with their ACON Acoustica Premium editor. As somebody who is not expert, I am still able to results from their products when I do my own home recordings. And their attitude towards customer is absolutely great, kudos to Norway!
All is true :) They're a really cool company knowing how to win in terms of technology and customer relations.
To my ear Acon has markedly less noticeable artefacts
Thanks for another great video Paul.
Thanks for watching!
Yep, droping Waves is a great move. Even necessary. Thanks for sharing this comparison!
Thanks, Eduardo, good to hear from you!
great comparison . Acon has the best de reverb as well
No one tool is perfect. It's a balance of needs and use. I use Acoustica Premium and Spectralayers Pro 9 - for dialogue, Acon/Acoustica is the clear winner. But, I do a lot of audio for video. If you haven't heard the new Voice Isolation function in Davinci Resolve 18, honestly, it puts Acoustica, RX and Spectralayers to shame. It's kind of actual magic without artifacting. These days just clean dialogue right on the timeline. Strange but true.
Agree. I love Acon Digital too, high quality stuff with a close to zero cpu usage, everything is very fast and well designed
Thanks, Frankie!
Great!
I found the same thing. Waves does a little more squelching which leads me to use it almost never anymore
Paul did you check Supertone Clear and Hush Pro?
Clarity VX is now $39 though, compared to Extract:Dialogue which is $99
Although Acon Digital has much friendlier copy protection.
See the CPU usage between to. It's a deal maker/breaker for me!
I think that is for the non pro version
*Detroit loves you* 👈🏾
Thanks, Detroit!
@@FoliaSound I would like to see a video explaining about the new trend about how AI Voice is done (Drake etc). What software program does this voice cloning?
Explain: How can a 'Star's' voice be copied onto a music audio track? How could this be done using Cubase?
nobody wants to push the button to 100%… obviously it sounds bad… And the waves is a cpu hog on an intel cpu, and very light on my M1 max (due to neural engine), it’s night and day.
I spend quite some time reviewing the Waves Clarity basic version and could get nothing like the results they claimed in the adverts. I concluded that their adverts were pure BS, and therefore not only an insult but illegal. Still, people seem to like that stuff being done.
Results here are still very cheese grater. While you can claim the noise is "gone" it is unnerving to listen to.
Acon here seems better than Waves in the nastiness stakes.
yeh. ive only used clarity but i found with minor background noise it works well. i think we are still asking a bit too much of computers to magically clean a vocal recorded on a construction site etc! have to say the plugin i really want is like a de-zoomer because im a podcast editor and clients send me such bad recordings that have internet artifacts all over it from not recording the vocals at source! super annoying and i havent found a way to clean that particular problem yet :(
@@m.o.n.d.e.g.r.e.e.n The thing is that it is a fantasy. Audio is like an omelet, once it is cooked you are never making everything like it was before you cracked, chopped, and merged it. You can pull the mushroom bits out but they are covered in egg and the egg is covered in that fungal grey stain. It is how reality works. Digital noise will be the worst seeing it is less natural. Tell clients to do better if they expect better. Have fun :-)
hey i got 68 subscribers Im catching up with you........Great show
Hey, James, I listened to some of your stuff and subscribed yesterday. Man, you're making amazing stuff, great you told me about it :O I'll listen to it in the studio tonight. Thanks a lot, good to have you here!
@@FoliaSound thank you my friend keep up the good works
