On one hand, I'm glad that the Doc didn't take the Vampire. It's way too far before the Watershed to be "sucking 'em off two at a time". On the other hand, we'll never know what was truly lurking in the deck. On a third hand, or perhaps, with our third eye, we can realize that the super-positional nature of the Stone Cards is the only way to play the true ultimate hand - the *Straight House*
I was actually curious how effective the swap from Baseball to Stone Joker was - turns out it was extremely the right call. 260 Chips became 1310, which is a hair over X5. Baseball would trigger 3 times for X3.325, but Doc would've had to cull a polychrome Uncommon, so it would only be X2.25. That's a rock solid exchange. (heh)
@@1AlasBabylon well if he had replaced one of the marble jokers the baseball card would have given the same Xmult, meaning he would have only lost 1 polycrome. (but that obviously wasn't an option)
I still like the idea that 5 stones could form a new wacky hand type. Have it start at +0 mult +250 chips and make its planet card scale by +5 mult -5 chips or something.
what if the marble joker was "cards that are played, but not scored are turned to stone" i feel the game doesnt take enough advantage of the played but not scored cards mechanic
IF stone cards needed a buff ( not nessessaeily saying they do) I think a cool balance would be that stone cards would either keep a rank OR a suit, so that their synergies are higher but not so easily fit into any strategy.
I think a joker that makes stone cards behave like normal cards, similar to what Pareidolia does, making it possible to play different hands with stone cards only. For example, playing four stone cards would be considered a four of a kind instead of high card. What do you think?
Stone cards aren't always easy to come by. It's okay for a Joker to be more useful some times than other times, but this seems both /too/ overpowered in the presence of Marble Joker and /too/ underpowered without it. Also, it might be difficult to phrase that in a way which is accessible to new-ish players. You're far more likely to see something like "6s also act as Stone Cards" (in the sense of always being scored, kind of like what Splash does, and having +50 Chips). CC suggested something similar along the lines of "7s also act as Lucky Cards" (possibly stacking Lucky triggers on top of existing triggers).
How do you feel about wild cards. I feel like they are really weak especially with the suit debuff bosses, it might be an interesting buff for them to be immune to debuffs. Do you think that this would be too powerful?
I had the same idea. Immunity to debuffs would be awesome for them and make them a really fun enabler for multiple suit jokers. With the suit disabling bosses, multi-suit builds don’t really seem viable at all, but buffing them to be immune to debuffs would change that without being too strong
The big thing is that Lovers only makes them one at a time. Lucky cards got way better when Magician got buffed to make two. The ability to get straight flushes etc. more consistently would give wild cards a niche even if they got no additional joker support, which might be enough. The suit debuff bosses are still kind of a problem, but possibly not an insurmountable one--I'd rather see Lovers get buffed first before tweaking how those treat wild cards, personally, as it seems like a simpler change.
A high ante, puss in boots run would be fun to watch. Bootstraps and lucky cat with an attempt to convert every card in the deck to lucky cards for maximal chances to play a lucky card. The biggest boots for the fattest cat.
limestonepilled marblemaxxing, straight up hewing

if this is the "we play with underrated/underappriciated jokers" arc... I think Glass Joker might need some justice.
I see what you did there
Damn, this is really a university - first theory, then practice
Gotta say im really loving normal run videos
early morning lecture, love to see it
the baseball card betrayal got me howling lmfao

It doesn’t matter that the driver’s license is rare cuz you already sold baseball
What do you mean? He would've lost without that xMult.

Comet for the planet card name?
@@isocle may be kuiper belt. Since it is just "space stones" irl
I think a really cool interaction would be if you had the upgraded magic trick voucher the marble joker could generate cards with seals or edition
Finally the professor is reaching out to his stoner students
Most cards in a deck world record would be a fun watch
We got over 1100!
I've taken to saying "Ah, beans." lately.
Had an idea to buff stone cards, they can go beyond the 5 card played limit. Simple
Ok bot 😂
33:00 *gets the craziest highroll I've ever seen* "nice" gotta love it
i was thinking yesterday when was doc gonna make a marble joker video
I think after the magician buff, lovers and tower need to be two as well.
Just in time for dinner, yay!

Stuggling to think of a card that does that besides matadore

So, just wondering: why does Ancient Joker key off random suits instead of stone cards?

I think the lovers should (also?) do two cards instead of one
