Nowadays, Pirated games has integrated Multiplayer servers so you can play with other pirates in different games. Not every game but this feature is rolling out slowly
I don't think multiplayer pirating will continue to evolve since multiplayer is dependent on external servers and aren't from your system pc. Pirated multiplayer must have either 1) hacked the servers for pirated players to fit in the paid ones. 2)super rich people willing to invest on private servers
what pissed me off was those old ads where they show the construction worker from a movie set, and he is telling you how movie piracy takes money out of HIS pocket. and I'm like "No, you get paid hourly. you do your job, you get paid. the Producers, who get paid a percentage of every DVD or Movie ticket sold. THOSE are the guys who get hurt by piracy. So don't tell me it's the set builder.
In my opinion, piracy emerged from the growing need for game preservation and access. Some people just can't access certain games in their countries, or game companies simply stop selling those games for no reason most of the time. This with the new ideology of not owning your games that you PAID for simply makes piracy a more justified act. Again, you've probably heard it but I'll say it again: "If BUYING isn't OWNING, then PIRACY isn't STEALING".
where you have a point, bro you're acting like piracy suddenly appeared in 2016.. the truth is that back in the day of most games being offline or local mp, piracy was basically what gave most access to games they couldn't find OR afford
No the main reason is money. The price of games is based on production cost and average household income in the west. $60 is pocket change some of you guys in comparison to less wealthy countries. A $60 game when compared to the average household income in the 3rd world, is equivalent to paying $1000 for a video game in the US. Game developers will never adjust prices based on region, so they will offer a fair price based on where they expect 90% of sales to come from and forget about the rest. As a result those who cannot afford the price of a newly released AAA game will end up getting a pirated version of the game.
The cost being way way too high making the game simply unavailable to you can be called as it being unaccessible. Westerners dont get it but paying like half of your salary for one game was an insane proposition for people in many poorer countries. These days, many companies use regional pricing and global economy has made things much better but it was a BAD situation back in 2000's and 90's.
Piracy in games (or any media) has existed for a long long time. Back in the 80's we played on MSX and C64 with games on cassette tape and all our games were pirated.
@@iamLucid You should check it somehow. Because before I used to get like 3-5 of your videos in recommended but now I don't get any of your videos in recommended
Piracy is a lifesaver for people in lower income countries, especially people of the younger age group. If 70$ to y'all feel like a scam, keeping in mind you guys are making atleast 600-1000$ a month, think about what 70$ is to us who, on average, make no more than 100$ per month without considering any other costs. In places like these, I don't think piracy is a bad thing, because people would rather not play or watch something, than buy it. Entertainment shouldn't be gatekept by the amount of money you earn or what you can afford, period.
@Mr.Reality not by a considerable amount, no. They are relatively cheaper but usually only by like 5-10 dollars. What might be sold for $70 in the US would cost $60 or $50 at best. People over here usually buy games when the Steam sales hit and prices fall under or around $10-15
@@d1st0rt037 Ah I see, I'm from the Netherlands and the average income is pretty high here. But I still believe that 70 euro for a game is just nuts. I remember when games were like 20-40 euro max. As an underage person, being a pirate is my whole LIFE. I don't know what I would be doing with basically no games otherwise. I'm not in the US so heck yeah.
@@nimbites Because people who are underage don't have a job thus no money to buy games. And the fact that he isn't from the US means the games are still priced for US salaries and not for his respective country (which probably pays way less) makes it even worse.
The hardest bar I've heard from a game developer on Twitter was, "culture shouldn't only be available to those who can afford it", and it hits hard especially for people whose parents couldn't afford every new triple AAA game or had to wait to major events to ask for a video game (e.g. birthdays, Christmas, etc.). I don't like that OFFLINE SINGLE-PLAYER games need to have online connection, it's just annoying as a consumer, in general.
I remember having to wait nearly until the ps3 slim to get my first ever ps3 I was behind on all games because our family was broke, the only games systems I had were old consoles I bought broken and fixed and games I got for free from friends who already had the Xbox 360 and ps3
They try blocking hackers from cracking games and not ban in-game cheaters who are making games hell for everyone. Ofc, they know which one makes them more money.
If you feel bad about this.. If companies actually kind of did the opposite. They'd actually make more in the long run.. Allowing companies to stay more afloat Because.. No offense as I probably am one too.. A lot of normies are the biggest consumers.. And normies.. Buy the game.. And normies.. Enjoy playing fairly.. Without any cheaters.
In my country, buying games is really expensive, the buying methods are broken and hard and the standard of living is low so you don't have money for even paying the bill of electricity. And you don't expect us to crack games?
Then again playing devils advocate whos to say they dont have a right to take the game back from consumers. We get a retail price sure in which to purchase the game, however what about the money to actually develop the game. This includes paid employees and funding for development in general which in actuality is the video games actual price. But i guess this point makes you think that we should have laws against companies being able to pull their product online; theyd probably just add that to terms and conditions to counter that.
Piracy isn't stealing, though. It's a violation of copyright law. It's very different in court, being a lot less punishable. I dislike this saying because it makes people think Piracy is theft, when it IS NOT.

This is the problem with people like you, instead of actually getting a job you decided to become a criminal at a young age. When I was a kid (and I'm on the younger side of the Millennial generation, so I'm not some old boomer), I mowed the lawns of my neighbor every week; that was $15 a week, and that plus some extra money from doing other odd jobs for other neighbors and relatives I was able to save up enough to get my own Xbox and some games after about 6 months. From then on for Christmas my parents would get me the yearly Xbox live so I could play online. This was the same age, around 14 years old, so there really isn't any excuse. Yes, I know outside the US the concept of mowing people's lawns isn't much of a thing, but there's plenty of other ways to get money as a kid by doing odd-jobs for people in your neighborhood and local community. Just because you were too lazy to put in the effort doesn't mean you are justified to do a criminal, immoral act. Me putting in this work made my Xbox and the games I played so much more valuable, earning much more satisfaction
Who even cares man, like good for you? Do you want a trophy and a pat on your back or something for you sharing and bragging your childhood life story on how you made money and accomplished as a kid while the OP didn't? Pirating is a gray area, so techinaicallu half yes its criminal and half isnt. Pirating you are just getting a game for free as a "demo" (if the legit demo from a game is not avaliable) and you are basically trying it before buying it, if you liked the game, that person will buy it in the future, if not then they know the game sucks. Like what is not to understand? What makes it more criminal and illegal is pirating it and selling it. If buying is not owning, then pirating is not stealing. Buy indie games, pirate AAA.

I think piracy is great, especially for preservation and for those who dont have the money like kids. The only problem with piracy is that it can be time consuming for the pirater and for the consumer, most cracked software is just malware and a lot of it cannot be detected by av's, so it's really just by taking the risk as you can never be fully safe when doing it.

Ephesians 6:10-18 says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. The bible is no old book. You have to really let Christ open your eyes; to see the world in shambles. Many people say it's a religion to lock up people in chains, and say it's a rule book.. why? Because people hate hearing the truth, it hurts their flesh, it's hurts their pride, it's exposes on what things have they done..people love this world so much, s*x, money, power, women, supercars.. things of this world. Still trying to find something that can fill that emptiness in your heart. You can't find that in this world.. only in Christ, the bible is no chains, it's a chainbreaker. Breaking your sins into pieces... Repent now, and turn back to the true Lord only.. God bless.

As a result those who cannot afford the price of a newly released AAA game will end up getting a pirated version of the game.
true, back in 200x, GBA and NDS were virtually hard to buy in my country so we play roms downloaded from the internet.

But arent games cheaper in countries that have lower income? For example a windows key is 5 bucks in india and 200 in europe.
I feel Ubisoft single handedly showed/proved why piracy is good with what they did with The Crew.

I love how you can feel that IamLucid makes these topics always feel passionate, and I think that's what made me genuinely love this video so much
Ephesians 6:10-18 says,
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. God bless.
I like the new editing just tone it down a tiny bit and it would be perfect ngl
The morals from piracy seem to mostly depend on which game you’re pirating. For example if you pirated a small indie game and a AAA game, you may feel worse about pirating the indie game compared to the AAA game.
Sadly, most people couldn't tell the difference between indie and AAA companies.
the game preservation argument is actually really convincing
Edit is amazing
You are amazing
Dodi Repack and Fitgirl are lifesavers...just saying
man, seeing someone talk about the games piracy scene in details here on youtube feels unreal! Great job man! I'm sure this would get a lot of attention and to the people reading: Be safe out there on the internet man.. be cautious of any viruses and threats while exploring. Peace! ♥️
I have played more than 1000 games and never paid a single cent.

@@darkofchaos_official Depends on the VPN, Proton and Mulvad is the go to for piracy.
as said above, mullvad have strict zero logging policy, they once even got raided and found no data on users at all, apparently also allow bitcoin payments.
@@darkofchaos_official this is just… not how VPNs work.
Uhhh, the whole reason why vpns are so secure is because there are multiple people on it at once so ur data is in there along with them making it so your data can’t be picked out. 😅

Too much piracy and the game dies. Too little piracy, and the companies have too much control. You just got to get the piracy levels right otherwise it breaks down.
Lmao if it was a physical storefront you wouldn't be saying that

Fit Girl repack on top
nein dodi
So basically I live in a country where credit cards don't work for international paiement so the only way I can buy any game is through overpriced gift cards and license keys (for example Minecraft costed me about 40$ instead of 25$) so the way i can enjoy games without breaking the bank in by pirating them
enjoyed a long documentary after a really long time, thanks for this doc and the fitgirl repack audio in between the video really brought some old memories back, haha!
All the games that I pirated when I was broke, I ended up then buying them once I landed a job. There is an argument to be made that if you don't have the money to afford a videogame, then perhaps you shouldn't even be playing them (you should probably be applying for jobs). But I can think of many exceptions to this.
The editor going crazy 🔥🔥
Beautiful work !! Thanks for giving us this info! Not everyone knows what is going on and you Made everything Crystal clear!! From Italy, The weird thing is that We dont hear a lot from the CPY and pirating does not serm to be huge like in the us. But at least We Have a great team like CPY doing so much for the this community ! Piracy is not only Piracy, there is a lot behind the “scene” and so much more than “pirating is good because you just don’t pay.” Again, great work, 🎉
