Sooo cool. TB, I really appreciate your depth and clarity. You're like a great landscape photo! Only wish you edited with DaVinci coz that's where I'm at but hopefully most of what I've just seen will migrate. Thank you for putting so much of your time into making these videos.
Beautiful work, Taylor! How long does it take you to edit a video from start to finish (approx)... i know, it depends, but like this one, if I can ask?
Hey! Thanks so much. If I have the music ahead of time usually a few hours for basic editing. But if I’m adding titles and stuff like that maybe a few more hours if it’s all planned ahead with the client.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Thanks so much for the quick and real reply. i'm binge watching your content today and prob gonna get signed up for Epidemic this week. Love your videos!
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideoI’m in video editing not long ago and wanted to get some ideas about interior lighting to color grade in the editing software and found your channel, i watched some of your videos that were really helpful to me Thx for that❤️
@duskiheja7784 awesome!! The best scenario is when a client changes all the light bulbs in the house to daylight LEDs lol. But that rarely happens. Glad the vids are helping you!
Thanks! For the talking parts I used an aputure 120d with glow ez pop softbox. For the real estate footage it was just natural light! Is that what you meant?
Unfortunately, no. Lately, I do group it all together though it basically does the same thing as nesting. Do you know of a way to lock your audio layer in final cut? I haven’t figured it out lol.
Perfect watch for a Sunday morning in bed with a coffee. My other half is next to me looking at clothes online and the kids are asleep so it’s educational shizzle for me! Could I ping a link to a 1 min video I did for a bit of help?
You don’t need to! They’re just used as lower res video previews while editing and the program will export applying effects and edits to your full res footage 👍👍
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo cool! So another quick question, you had 1080p footage but did you export as 4K? I’ve heard of doing that but I couldn’t get good results and I’m not sure if it’s because of the frame rate or what, but I actually even filmed most of my footage in 4K and still had an issue.
Hi Taylor, I just find your channel and its incredible what you’re donne, and I wanna make a question for you. I want to start to get in intonthis world, and i have a canon m50 with a sigma 16 mm 1.4, and a dji air 2s drone. Donyou think I can start with this configurarion?? Thanks and keep going with your channel!!!
Thanks !! Excited for you. Awesome setup. I think you’ll probably find that you need a wider lenssince you have a cropped sensor camera for most cases (kinda industry standard to have superwide) . Lots of used 11-16 ish range lenses out there or 12mm for good prices though !
This is great! Thank you, I somehow never understood to cut the music to the desired video length first, then fit the clips to the music. Could you do a video to help me understand the export setting choices, codecs, etc., please? It is a foreign language to me. Thank you, Taylor, you are a great teacher!
How do you copy those Colograding Settings? First you choose your LUTs and the how do you copy them to next video part. I just shot on my Sony a6400, in 4K in cine4 and think if I should have done in log.
Hey! You should be able to just highlight them and copy (ctrl+c or edit-copy) in the effects tab and then paste it onto the next one or all the following ones (ctrl+v or edit-paste). Log is great but varies from camera to camera, I’d recommend running some test footage in different formats to see what works best for you with your camera.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Thank you very much Taylor. Yes I did some testing, will play with log too and see how it goes with the LUTs are your LUTs free to download anywhere?
@youthehealer Nice! No they’re on my store (link in video descriptions) but I’d recommend looking for the ones Sony provides on their site that are for converting log footage to rec709. Great starting point! (Called rec709 conversion luts)
Great video of the whole process. You will have to get Andre to return the favor and make a UA-cam edit video on his channel from your clips of a property! One question I have is you made your proxies from mostly 30fps footage and then you later interpreted your clips to 23.8fps. How do the proxies and interpret clips match up on your final output and music?
Thanks!! Haha that would be fun to see. If you do proxies first, They match up like normal 👍👍 I can’t remember having any issues with that in the past.
Yes! I mostly use the RF to EF adapter with the VND in it. But tiffen, polarpro and hoya are good on lens VNDs too. Typically don’t need a ton of ND because I shoot exteriors at higher frame rates.
Great video, thanks so much for the information. I shoot with a Fuji xT3 and wanted to know if you’ve had anyone else purchase your Real Estate Presets. Or how you know they’ll work with Fuji?
Hey! I’m not 100% sure. If you check out my color grading video and photo editing video I show how to do your own that will come out pretty similar though!
Great informative video as always. I have big issues with trying to brighten in color correction. It always gets too grainy so my interior shots are very dark most of the time. Unless the house has really good lighting.
Hey! Thanks for checking out my channel. I actually learned the basics working with another photographer (for photography) and over time I learned / figured out all of the video filming + editing through Research + Practice as well as the more complicated photography stuff. I'm working on several of my own courses right now, though! I know it's a lot to figure out so hopefully these will be an easier way to get started. What stage are you at ?
Thank you for answering! I'm actually at the very first stage of learning. I'm starting using my Galaxy S21 ultra and a gimbal. Your channel has been very helpful for me, I even watch your videos twice. But I'm still struggling with confidence using a smartphone in front of the agent 😅 thank you so much!!
Do you ever speed ramp you clips when doing real estate? If so, are there any problems since you interpreted the footage to 23.98 therefore causing premiere to have to interpolate the clips to make them quicker or slower.
Yes! Not really any issues. Usually if I’m speed ramping they will be a fast to slow (or real-time to slow mo) so plenty of frames to work with. If it’s a big speed ramp it helps to add motion blur during the movement to make it look smoother though
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo right, however if you’re speed ramping from normal time to slow then you must’ve not interpreted the footage to slow mo already, therefore skipping the step you mentioned in the video
Right. Either way works! If you’re going from an already “interpreted” clip from 60-23.98 you could just do the reverse and speed it up, up to to 250% (or 125% for 30fps) on the part you want to be faster and leave the rest as is.
@Taylor Brown - absolutely. That's why I like watching random editing videos. Tend to pick up random things to speed up my own workflow. Besides that, I've been a subscriber since before you were somebody, haha 😄

Thanks! Same. I usually try to expose a little bit high and that helps. As long as you’re shooting in Log you can pull down a bit.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo does shooting at 30fps instead of 60 help at all to reduce grain?
Yes because you can shoot at a lower Shutter Speed (1/60) + lower ISO 👍👍
question, what frame rate was this shot at. Apologies if it was asked and answered previously
Hey! Mostly 30fps for wide shots and 60fps for detail shots (edited to a 23.98fps timeline) so at speeds 80% for 30fps and 40% for 60fps usually
