My 7 year old little boy, Alex, asked me to text y'all and let you both know we are watching y'all. 😆 He brought out his Olaf (Snowman from Frozen) bag that he keeps all his yarn and hooks in. He said, "You're doing a great job, Mr. Institches!" And he asked me to tell Ms. Jayda Institches, that the sun is a star. He is random. Lol. Thank you both for the videos! It's a family affair in our household.

At the beginning I was laughing so much (actually it was more like guffaws) that my husband came in and asked me if I was all right. I tell people that my friend Jayda is teaching me to crochet. So glad I found you. 😊

That was precious. My daughter-in-law law asked me to teach her to crochet so I sat on the sofa and she sat on one of her kids little wooden chairs between my knees. She couldn’t find a comfortable way to hold the hook in her rt hand the yarn over her fore finger and pick up the yarn and pull it thru the loop on her hook all at the same time. We were in fits of laughter and she was getting frustrated. In the end she threw it on the floor and said well I’m never going to be able to crochet. My 38 yr son came to the sofa and said “ Teach me mum”. In 15 mins he was crocheting like a pro. Just chains and single crochet stitches like your husband. Then he turn to his wife and said if I can do it so can you. So he took my place on the sofa and she sat back in the kids chair and gave it another try. It took him an hour but he did it. She can now chain and single crochet. She was jumping around the sitting room doing a happy dance. I have never seen her pick up a hook again tho I gave her balls of yarn and a 5mm hook to practice with. I asked her the next time I saw how was her crocheting coming along and she said I know I can do it now but I never want to do it again. My son hasn’t crocheted agin either. I sit in their lounge when I visit and make hats and blankets and other crochet goodies. But neither has ever tried again. Crocheting give me so much pleasure. I have taught 4 of my 5 grandkids to knit and if I’m around they knit garter stitch scarves with me but if I’m not there they don’t do any knitting. They play on iPads or laptops.
Thanks to Mr. Institches for being a good sport. Few of us would want to be seen learning something new in front of thousands of experts! It IS just like a musical instrument and your hands will do it automatically after a while (which is also why it is hard for some of us to TEACH others to crochet!)
I just started teaching my boyfriend how to crochet, he picked it up really fast and now he has a really nice start to a granny square blanket

I've been watching y'alls videos for a little while now. Jayda, you have taught me so much! I have been crocheting for about thirty eight years, however, until about eight month ago I only used the single crochet stitch. I now use all kinds of different stitches. I have been making things while I work as a security officer and sell them to people that work for the plant. I don't usually charge too much and the money I make I use for buying more yarn. When I'm watching your show I try to get some work done but while watching this video it was difficult to crochet because you two are so wonderful!

Jada.....you have the patience of a saint. I tried to teach my niece how to crochet......and I almost lost my sanity. I have so much respect for people with teacher brains. Y'all know how to transfer knowledge through teaching. MAD respect. 👌🏼👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥰🥰

This video is perfect timing for me. I will be teaching my older sister over Thanksgiving break. The reason it will be special is I didn’t even know she existed until January of this year. She’s seen some of my projects and has asked me to teach her. I can’t wait to spend some time with her.

"Look at my hook. Is that normal? Now it's jammed!" Nothing worse than a jammed hook! So funny and such a great example of the teaching and learning process. As we would say to the kids, Mr InStitches, you are in the learning pit but with persistence, practice, (caffeine) and lots of support from Jayda you will climb out with a lovely dishcloth! I loved watching xx

Mr. InStitches, I'm very proud of you for trying this! And I agree with Jayda - the WORST part of EVERY project is the darn chaining! Also, the most difficult part of every project is the first few rows or rounds when you are just getting it started. I believe it is much easier to crochet after a few rows/rounds because you finally have something for your hands to hold onto. Keep at it - you'll be better and better!
Absolutely adorable! I really needed this, because I'm planning to begin teaching others to crochet sometime in the next year. I so appreciate Jayda's patience and encouragement of Mr. InStitches. I was grinning through the entire video. You two are a dynamic duo!

And working on a substantial piece is so much easier! My mother has been crocheting for nearly 60 years and she still complains about having to chain and the first row. It’s cumbersome!

This was a fantastic video. Well done Mr. In Stitches for learning. It's not easy to start something like this as an adult. I hope you keep it up and see how relaxing it can be to sit and crochet and let the stress fall away. My ex who's one of my best friends stilk learned to knit so he could teach me. We learned a lot of the history of knitting, he even learn to crochet with my help. This brought back those memories. Love it!!! Very romantic and very cute to watch you guys work together. Bravo!! My honey and I really enjoyed this video. and it's great still to hear Mama and stitches at the end of the video. That was a good comparison to learning to play an instrument. I've been playing instruments and crocheting for around 55years and, especially when you first start, they're both about muscle memory and dexterity which involves practice, practice and more practice.

I love this video, but I discovered something.......I don't know that I will have the patience to teach crochet to someone! While watching Mr In Stitches, I wanted to jump through the screen and just take it from him to make the chains!!!!! But, other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this. You two are so comical!😂💕

Great job!!!👍👍👍 It takes time, practice and patience. I wished I had a teacher like Jayda. Being self taught crochet first and then knitting there was a transition I had to adjust to between holding a hook vs two knitting needles. Coming to my comfort zone of circular and not straight knitting needles. I started early 2010 crocheting and wasn't pretty in the beginning. I was just pulling out items I made from then to now and I see a difference. I still have more to achieve and well worth it.
