Another American viewer who is extremely glad to see the Koalas have a future. Thank you to you and everyone else who is working to save them. I just found you two days ago with the firebombing video. I slightly remember seeing the video on my feed when it happened but for whatever reason I never clicked. For whatever reason it showed up again, and I'm so glad it did. I think you are doing amazing work. The intelligence behind your evisceration of the corrupt is astounding. P.S.(edit) I'd also like to vote for the HAFF video (though not sure I should get a vote). This seems like something every country should be doing. Something maybe voters need to start demanding from their governments around the world. Going a bit more in depth on how it works and on how it's opponents try different methods to smear the benefits would be greatly helpful for people in other countries to know what BS to look out for and how to fight it.

I have no specific knowledge about the HAFF but I work with debt for a living as an investment banker and I have to say, even if it was seeded/funded with debt at the outset, that would very likely be a positive. The reason corporations take on debt (and why virtually every public company has debt) is that it boosts returns on equity while partially offsetting the costs of the debt (I don't know what Australia's tax code looks like, but in the US interest paid on debt is tax deductible so the interest costs are partially offset by reducing your tax burden). One reason they boost equity returns is that debt costs remain fixed (relatively fixed, though floating rate instruments exist) so every new dollar you make and grow with is yours to keep. If the company is split 60/40 equity/debt, 100% of every dollar of profit goes to that 60% and the 40% only ever gets the interest and principal payments, no matter how much the company grows. I'm less familiar with funds but I would imagine the same is true for them, at least at a 1000 foot view. I wish cities/states/country would do something like this in the US. Use municipal debt to fund a large, desirable housing project for "ordinary" people (maybe lower-middle income earners) charge a bit above upkeep costs, use the profit to develop projects that are net money losers for the fund but which benefit people who are in the lowest socioeconomic class. It seems like a no-brainer. After the initial funding it should sustain itself, and should pay back the initial investment along the way.
So glad to see that at least one government has moved past "this is an abomination that people can't afford homes! I say we not only do nothing to improve the situation, but actively block all proposals from other parties that could improve it."
Hi FriendlyJordies team, I just wanted to say that I love your work, and videos. Although I live in Oklahoma, US; I love your content, and appreciate all that you do.

I literally discovered your channel yesterday and I watched heaps of your videos about the nsw government and the koalas and then this video what a happy ending 😂❤
I'm Canadian, and I just want to say your channel has inspired me to be more involved in politics. Nothing crazy but I believe actively discussing these issues with family and friends is a great way to hold our government accountable while they try to spread their bullshit as Canada as good as they like to portray themselves has some serious issues. Keep fighting the good fight my man.
This makes me so happy. Just what I needed to start my day. I was genuinely feeling like shit when I woke up, but this has made me feel just a bit better
Canadian-born American, here. Definitely care about this! Not just because the Koala is a vulnerable species that deserves protection (and damn it, aren't they just too damned cute?), but because deforestation, in general, contributes to overall climate change.
Cannot stress this enough, I am NOT austrailian at all. But these videos are all I've watched so far in the last 2 days. Learning about other countries political systems is entertaining for some reason
Good shit, glad to hear the koalas are getting focused on. As for your videos being about "death and destruction" all the time, your worst of series always makes me laugh to the point of tears, even if cleaners keep finding bodies and shit covered hotel rooms, that shits hilarious!
I'm loving the views figures, it's a significant achievement borne of a noble spirit. Thank you once more for the trouble you go to for the common good. A life well lived thus far Jordan, keep it up pal 😉👍🥳🥳
That's awesome man, would like to see you do one in the protection of dingos too man, even though they're not extinct, they're under threat in some states as you know.
As enviromental geograph and someone who was part of the monitioring of mooses in Czechia (there is 15-20 of them in total in whole country!) which was supposed to lead to creating more biocoridors and places for them to safley cross highways (because it is not only dangerous to the animals but for people to-there have been people dying because this gigantic animal jump under their cal) I hate dealing with politicians so much. In the private meetings they ALL agreed that there needs to be something done to save this beautifull animals but once they were talking in public it was always along the lines "we cannot afford to save this species of animal because we need to help single mothers/disabled people...". I´m really glad that Australia has this small win. Thank you for sharing these news with us!
I don't know if anyone else has the same view as I do, but I watch because you talk about Aussie specific issues that I don't get to see here in the States.
As a Canadian, I've been following your reporting quite closely. The reports of the logging just devastating the land hits home hard here. Beautiful to see the Labour Party (yes, I spell it the old way!) get right on this. The Greenies won't get their middle class rent freeze but people who need housing won't freeze. Bloody well done!
I reckon do the explainer anyway, it's still a good way to learn how they're spinning and twisting the truth to their own end and using the media as their spear tip
You should make 3 videos to cover these subjects, they're all interesting and relevant and I'm losing people to the Libs with all the media coverage of the HAFF and Voice so more ammunition would be welcomed! P.S - To answer your question on the boring numbers of it all. What you do for me, is find the important numbers in the boring numbers and talk about them transparently. Thanks for your work, Jordan.
@@Steph.98114that's what happens when voting becomes about "loyalty" to one party and not a reflection of the policies you support. Greens are annoying but they had some good points about the HAFF
Just rewatched your piece about the greens blocking the haff. You said something about doing a video about all of the greens party scams. Would really like to see that.
I'd love to see that too, considering the greens didn't try to block it. The greens tried to get Labor to make some changes to it, to make it worthwhile, before they would agree to it. I've been very supportive and thankful to Jordan and team for years, but this take on this subject is absolute BS.
The greens can be incredibly frustrating. I agree with their general ideas a lot of the time- I think we need to do more as a society to protect the environment that sustains us, but FFS they can sniff their own farts coming up with creative ways to turn everyone against them.
The HAFF's opening balance is ultimately funded by government borrowings, one way or another. However the yield on government bonds right now is below the rate of inflation. So it's a loan with a negative rate of interest.

Gladys closing herself off in a dark room, isn't getting out of bed, living on a diet of hard liquor and cigarettes
Canadian viewer here, I like your local politics, it is fun to learn about a country that is working to get better. Learning about our own politics is just depressing
Thank you for caring about the world and showing every thing so clearly. I do enjoy your witticisms as well, since a lot of what's wrong out there can be a very hard pill to swallow. Teaspoon of sugar, is what it is. good on ya m9
If you listen carefully you can just about hear Gladys losing her mind
So glad to see that at least one government has moved past "this is an abomination that people can't afford homes! I say we not only do nothing to improve the situation, but actively block all proposals from other parties that could improve it."
Even this sarcastic American is happy that the Koalas are not going extinct.
Hi FriendlyJordies team, I just wanted to say that I love your work, and videos. Although I live in Oklahoma, US; I love your content, and appreciate all that you do.
Canadian here, yes I do care about the koalas Jordan! One of the biggest topics where your passion shines through is fighting ecocide and species extinction. Keep up the good work!
We are all Koalas deep down, If they get hurt we get hurt
Inside each of us, there are two koalas.
Thank you!
I needed some good news for once. :)
Thank you for your hard work Jordie!
Yes hopefully this will enable public housing to be more accessible for those that are in need
Great job dude. It’s nice to see someone get something good done for animals with their platform instead of sit in front of traffic and block people from being where they need to get
We’re getting one step closer between a debate between Swollen Pickles and Friendly Jordies, and I’m ready for it.
They should align and buy out Murdoch after the empire crashes, just don't cross the streams, just in case the Ghostbusters were correct

I saw this and was waiting on your next vid on this . Bloody good job jordan you are one of the few good ones in journalism keep fighting the good fight
I really appreciate and enjoy just the genuine communication of information.
News channels leave me with less than I started with.
American here. Dont change a thing for us new viewers im loving AU politics and everything else thats important to you
Far better than US politics ay
Think globally, act locally, onya mate!
I may live in the US but the reason I like watching you is because you fight for causes you believe in. You fight for causes that are good. So when you get a win, even if it doesn't immediately or locally affect me, it's still a win in my book :)
I’m happy for the Koalas, and for all the other animals and vegetation that live in those areas too!
This is great. A true win, not just for everyone living now but also for future generations!
Koalas given sanctuary, Gladys Berejiklian found dead in a ditch
As one of your American audience members, I am very interested in the politics, koala parks, and funds of the funny kangaroo land.
The videos are good, the information is interesting, and it’s always nice seeing somebody like you do actual good work like this.
I literally discovered your channel yesterday and I watched heaps of your videos about the nsw government and the koalas and then this video what a happy ending 😂❤
I think you can relate to the koalas having your habitat demolished by an outside force lol
Bro is literally doing god’s work with how much effort and understanding goes into these videos and topics 💪💪💪
Thank you for taking the time to lean into actual issues. ❤
Oh no
Canada... Hey sorry for you not having rights anymore, ye that sucks (no im not from the US)
@@IsM1ku how very vague of you
What pisses me off about about Canada is it elects with rep by pop. Whoever wins just campaigns in Ontario and Quebec, and everyone else can eat shit.
@KelseyDrummer yeah its definately a problem I know the US has the same issue but for us it's so much worse because we have less provinces
@KelseyDrummer being from manitoba we are basically taught in school our vote means nothing for the larger scheme of the government
This makes me so happy. Just what I needed to start my day. I was genuinely feeling like shit when I woke up, but this has made me feel just a bit better
Ah yes, perfect. Releases 34 minutes ago and I'm watching this on the bus
In Canada and am an Aussie. I watch YOU because you keep me up to date on what matters back home and I appreciate that.
I want to hear the very interesting stuff about the HAFF and anything else you wanna talk about ❤
Canadian-born American, here.
Definitely care about this! Not just because the Koala is a vulnerable species that deserves protection (and damn it, aren't they just too damned cute?), but because deforestation, in general, contributes to overall climate change.
honestly as an aussie, its great to hear some good news thanks for the video
Amazing results keep up the amazing journaling. You bring hope.
This is one of the few times where I am kinda happy that my insomnia decided to exist. Congrats on this win.
Cannot stress this enough, I am NOT austrailian at all. But these videos are all I've watched so far in the last 2 days. Learning about other countries political systems is entertaining for some reason
Good on helping to get the W! Glad you're out there.
Good shit, glad to hear the koalas are getting focused on. As for your videos being about "death and destruction" all the time, your worst of series always makes me laugh to the point of tears, even if cleaners keep finding bodies and shit covered hotel rooms, that shits hilarious!
Big W for the Koalas. Big L for the Koala Killer Gladys. Hopefully more good changes to come.
R.I.P Big L
This video is like a natural tranquilizer for Americans, almost feel asleep listening to this
Now hopefully this W will grow and last.
As someone who lives in Koalaville ground central, all I can say is FUCK YEAH!
So happy this happened 👍

I'm loving the views figures, it's a significant achievement borne of a noble spirit. Thank you once more for the trouble you go to for the common good.
A life well lived thus far Jordan, keep it up pal 😉👍🥳🥳
I feel like every country needs a clone of Jordan and his team to report on things.
Huge W for the Koala's they're wonderful creatures and they need to be protected.
Can always rely on Jordie for great Australian news.
When he makes that sussy face, it looks like Jim Carrey and Ted Bundy had a baby that likes to talk about Australian things.
I appreciate you for the young audience. And I actually checked you out because of Penguinz0, who I also recently started watching
I smashed the like button so hard I accidentally frightened a nearby koala
That's awesome man, would like to see you do one in the protection of dingos too man, even though they're not extinct, they're under threat in some states as you know.
Please give us some more about the HAFF plz, I just knocked off work, slightly stoned and I find this entertaining
10 billion dollar investment into the stock market, returns on the stock market to subsidise the creation of 30k houses in 5 years
As enviromental geograph and someone who was part of the monitioring of mooses in Czechia (there is 15-20 of them in total in whole country!) which was supposed to lead to creating more biocoridors and places for them to safley cross highways (because it is not only dangerous to the animals but for people to-there have been people dying because this gigantic animal jump under their cal) I hate dealing with politicians so much.
Oh same, I watch jordies to get reporting on the Oceania region that no one else is giving us.
its nice to hear some positive news about the current times. cheers.

Hell yes!!! Save those little beauties!!!!
(I'm from the US and I DO in fact care about this!)
Good on you Jordies.
Progressives often expect change to be instant but the ship analogy was very apt. Noice one.
I liked the Pyramid Scheme video. I LIKE longer form videos over the short ones
You shouldn't, it presented very little facts and was mainly just him talking shit about the greens which while funny dosn't help.
@@Steph.98114that's what happens when voting becomes about "loyalty" to one party and not a reflection of the policies you support. Greens are annoying but they had some good points about the HAFF
So happy you gained like 100k subs per month! Bro you and your team stay awesome and stay safe
You could always look into what's actually going on with the voice vote that's happening in Australia
True, the NO propaganda against something that's a NO brainer is insidious and ultimately evil.
Yeah we need that video about the HAFF for sure, hand it over, full hour long video essay style 😤
Hoping to see a FJ video on The Voice to Parliament soon.
The HAFF's opening balance is ultimately funded by government borrowings, one way or another. However the yield on government bonds right now is below the rate of inflation. So it's a loan with a negative rate of interest.
Seems like you actually made a difference in the history of Australia.👍
This is how I feel about the redpanda
