Coming from a streamer that has no chatters…..I always say to myself “Pretend you are making a UA-cam video” and that inspires me to talk and talk and talk lol I say story times, just say random stupid stuff, give people info no one asked for like how i diet LOL Just pretending i am making a UA-cam video is what helped me. Also be good at improv that helps too lol
@@davidcherr6861 yeah! At first I was a bit quiet but the more I stream the more I come out my shell and actually have been getting follows but no chatters 😭😭😭😭 it’s a slowwwww growing process 🥺
For me it was pretending I had a friend in the room that helped me talk more on stream...while I'm still very small and just getting into this that was definitely the first major hurtle..editing amongst working an full time job and raising 3 littles is the hardest part for sure though but I love this and will eventually get it figured out!.
As someone whose viewership has dipped by a lot this year, thank you. This was a great reminder why I started. I realized that not having viewers when I first started pushed me to tell better stories and be more entertaining on my stream, which in turn made for better content. Gaining viewers made me slack off and lose sight of what's important: make content that I find entertaining.
I was extremely surprised by your tactic of hitting "start recording" instead of "start streaming". I immediately thought that's absolutely genius. "Streaming" to 0 viewers instantly removes any anxiety from the equation and allows you to create awesome content that's easy to edit. I will 10000% try this Eljay, thanks for the fantastic content, as always.
Your best bet to grow a personality is by finding hobbies that interest you. Creating conversations during low times of stream is a great technique to keep engagement. I'm interested in modeling 3D objects, so I will talk about it a lot on streams
As a small streamer I used a sports announcer mentality when I had 0 viewers. It helps fill the silence and describes what you're doing to anyone coming in. I've gained a lot of new followers/viewers doing this. Hopefully it can help someone else as well.
I've been streaming for years with moderate success.. gotta say this video is the best advice I've ever heard. Good job! 🙌 No one should have any excuses now
Every time I’m about to give up trying to stream one of your videos pops up in my feed and I get the inspiration again. Such a great channel you have here man, thank you.
I gotta say, this helped, as your videos do so often! I know for myself, that I just love streaming too much to only produce youtube videos, that inludes streaming to zero viewers, because frankly I just love to hear myself talk. But sometimes I get a real dip in creativity and being entertaining if I just talked to a lot of people in chat and then the interactivity slows down to zero and I gotta shift from interacting with chat to being entertaining on my own again. I think in these instances it would be very helpful to just imagine that I'm recording a video instead!
One of the most important things is: Just keep having fun. Try to talk about stuff that makes you feel happy and you can have fun with. Worst part about watching someone with low levels of viewers is, if they are not talking and just playing.. or just blasting insanely loud music!
This is the most valuable video I've ever watched since subscribing to this channel. Absolutely loved this and I'm inspired. I've been in the biggest streaming rut!
to this day this helping people, the best advice i got from any of the vids you put out, its been stream like there is always someone there, even if i have to turn off the view counter when i get discouraged them split moments before a view counter updates can be what drives a viewer away and its helpped alot, dont focus on the "grind" just have fun along the way and people you resonate with will find you, haha tho it does help if you promote yourself where you can without just spamming it
Such a great video Eljay, your final point hit me so hard. I stepped back from streaming at the start of the year to focus on just making videos and I've noticed such a difference in my mood and general happiness. I very rarely come away from making a video thinking I've had a bad time, can't say the same for my streams. Can 100% vouch for this advice!
Side note, can you make a video on your favourite editing tips and tricks, just little things to make the process itself easier, even in the recording process too, can't speak for anyone else, but a lot of channels which offer that kind of advice doesn't do it anywhere near the level you do
I just started out and I’m just searching for moments in the game that would work as a skit. I become a character and just riff off of the awkwardness or the janky moments the game provides. So far my best vids have been from those moments that just present themselves. I may not have anyone talk to, but man I’m loving creating these clips. It’s been fun. Not tons of views yet but I feel like the content is getting good enough to at least stand in the room with the larger creators in this space. Thanks for your help man. You give really solid advice. This feels like a long term plan and if it’s not fun to do then I have no place doing it.
No, You got this Right. Watching how many viewers is not just mind consuming, its time consuming. instead of focusing on that 2-3-10 seconds of processing "i have low viewers", it could be used on focusing on the game/content and making it even more consumable for one self more than to the viewers. You need to love/want your own product. If you don't like it, how the heck is anyone else gonna like it. Thank you. Cheers!
6:55 step three was huge for me, Thankyou EJ ❤ I’ve watched your UA-cam for a very long time now and you helped me jump into just doing it and making an effort man. have a nice day ya legend 😊
Im in the middle of editing my own video and was getting discouraged because my last video only got like 100+ views were as the video before that got 25k+ views and I'm trying to recreate that magic. but by trying to force something to be good i have just lost motivation. So thank you I needed to hear this right now. Also it was weird that I opened YT and this was the first thing i saw and you posted it only 8 minutes before I clicked..... Weird huh
I think that's a matter of asking yourself why that got 25k views and why the last video got 100+ views, like was there a higher quality thumbnail? Was it a more popular game or topic? Was the challenge in it unique? Was it easier to follow along? etc.
When i was still starting out streaming and watching your videos to learn how to be better, i really appreciated this advice. And now that i am slightly more established and am trying to help other new streamers try to grow, i have to say that i really commend your patience in having to say this over and over and over. I find it really infuriating having the SAME conversation over and over with the same people. People wont want to stick around and talk if you arent already entertaining enough to want to talk too, and a lot of the time people just want to relax and be entertained with the pressure of talking. It definitely is EASIER when youve got someone to talk to but its not the viewers job to help you be a good streamer and be entertaining 🤷♀️ if i cant think of anything to say, ill try to talk about my day or ill just be really mindful about verbally narrating what im thinking and doing in whatever game im playing. I think its easier to stream when i have 0 expectations for my chat, because then its just a bonus when my chat does end up being entertaining 😅
As a Fortnite streamer who tries to make every livestream an interactive recording session, I can definitely relate to the editing struggle. So many great moments are filled with random speaking topics that were only relevant in the moment. I guess that explains why the big dogs don’t talk a lot to chat running 200 MPH so there videos have as little random fluff as possible. Makes me wonder how so many big streamers have chat popping off like mad even though they barely interact with chat. Great video tho!
I just started streaming this week, and I was one of the lucky ones that one of my friends watched both of my streams. So I had one person for 3 hours, and even though that seems awful, I was lucky that that one friend stuck with me. It gave me experience with trying to talk to them while gaming and trying to be entertaining. I acted as if there were hundreds of people watching me the entire time even though it was only one person. Acting as if there are multiple people there constantly watching forces you to be entertaining and put effort into your stream. Not sure if that's great advice, but that seems to be helping me get comfy in front of the camera. If anyone has any extra tips I'm more than happy to get more advice!
Coming from a new streamer I have only ever streamed 2 times and now I am setting a goal for myself to stream 2 times a week and sometimes special days a month. Like national purple day. I struggled with bullying in school and still do. I want to use this to pull myself out of the "I don't belong anywhere, and I want to hide because of it, or nobody wants to hear me because I don't need to speak." Watching your videos are helping me. And even talking to you in Discord.
Wow this hit home, i have been struggling with trying to edit stream footage and have been on the fence about just transitioning to recording instead of streaming. I love streaming but i am more confident in my content when just recording and having fun doing what i am doing rather than multitasking with chat and everything else. Thank you for this love your videos.
I think I have come to the same conclusion. I've tried to bite off too much at once. Trying to learn how to record videos. edit videos (totally new) and then try to grind on Twitch is just too much. Plus I waited way too late in life to learn all this. Should have started 15 years ago. I think I might just focus on videos and do streaming later or something.
dude i appreciate you for always posting this kind of content still. I couldn't imagine how frustrating it may be telling people exactly what to do multiple times in different ways lol
I think one of the main things is making sure when you sit down you are in the mood for doing it and not forcing it as if its something you have to do but its something you want to do
I stream and record and I talk with the intent of editing content. Im not great on camera as im usually a behind the scenes person. Thanks for the tips! Love it.
a difference on Twitch -- before affiliation -- is that uploads are not available, we can broadcast and edit VODs for a profile page or download the files for re-broadcast. knowing that, a year ago i started streaming to zero viewers in order to create files i could edit within the creator dashboard there. acting like money was not the goal and acting like live viewers were a bonus -- lets me have fun with OBS and Twitch while Twitch stores the files; this content can rack up views later or after editing. when Twitch cut back broadcast retention for Small Streamers from 14 days to 7 days it helped create discipline in my workflow. the process eljay describes Is productive. if i wanted to migrate to youtube the workload would be similar, in fact i often hit the record button in error when starting streams. i now save content which i really care about for a period when the software and process feel naturally scuffed. listen to eljay folks, he's onto something.
I'm a new streamer and I thank you for this advice. I don't have any viewers and I'm enjoying myself because I'm just trying to make content. Thanks for the great information.
the problem with the 0 viewer is that I'm really trying my best to put in so much energy and crack so many jokes and encourage people to chat by asking them questions about their days, their hobbies or their thoughts on the games i play....... *crickets* I dont care about being big or sucessful..... I just want friends. Edit: I even talked to chat down to earth and turned on cam saying im having a terrible time and wanted to just talk to them or ask for advice..it was a 4 hour stream with me talking non-stop.. I only got 2 bots who talked to me. i was furious. i just hate that all my other friends who stream put in less effort than me, and still retain followers and a consistent 10 viewers when 4 viewers is now considered a good stream for me. IM LOSING MY VEIEWERS AND FRIENDS AND IM LONELY. I really need help with my life. I hate that my only outlet to speak and talk as myself is now lonely. I have a hard time already trying to make friends and be myself in real life. Twitch was supposed to be my safe space. I have nothing and all lonely again. I just feel like a fucking dumbass talking to nobody
I've always struggled with the talking with nobody there, which is probably one of the reasons I never kicked into gear more with this over the years, but one thing you said kind of hit right with me and that's recording and making a video and talking not like you are talking to nobody, but talking to your editor, even if that editor is yourself. I'm going to try that in recorded content and work on engaging with the future viewer and not the current viewer, and maybe that'll help me to eventually make my way into more confidence in streaming.
I became affiliated within my first month of twitch and it took hard work, how I did this was I made a discord based around fallout as it’s one my fave games n I went into peoples streams with low viewers who were playing the game n started chatting n invited them in I made 3 good American friends who I still talk to this day and one has subbed to me for 12 months now(this was a year ago when we all met online) we all supported each other I made affiliate first then a few months after my first American mate did then a few months after my other American mate, we all set a goal and made it. Unfortunately I had mental issues n stopped streaming and now I am struggling to get viewers again but I know I can do it again. Don’t give up guys branch out and socialise with people who like the same games and content as you!
This is how I first started streaming 6 years ago , I hit record first. There are people out there that do not like the sound of their voice and I was one of them at first . I now Love my voice when I record and edit , even watching my Vods as well.
It's difficult to admit the excuse Part. To be honest to challenging to go for the step in greater content. I work 2 jobs an I'm easily burned out an just find days at random to stream. I don't know what's a easier option to stream. The most annoying part about me is being a introvert an point in talk to people.
After 4- 5 months of streaming, I finally did my first stream with full screen just chatting for the first few minutes, then kept talking the whole stream. It wasn't an incredibly successful stream on paper, but I felt really good about it at the end, even though it ended with the stream crashing lol. I am usually very aware how many people are in chat and when it dies down, I do to and I can tell it's getting stale. Last night chat really didn't matter. I did engage with them of course, but even when nobody was saying anything, which wasn't often, I still kept talking. It felt a bit weird but I'm sure I'll get more comfortable with it.
i have been struggling a bit with being engaging and I have had very good streams once I have chatters but when i don't have them it's a struggle, and have been thinking of doing this instead, thanks for the tip.
It has been a while since i watch his content... But everytime i do... I always got this crazy motivation inside me and sparks my creative ass to do some more... I really thankful for all of the advices... Even if I just got back from hiatus... But my friend whom i introduce about eljay's videos way back then had become a growing channel now... Im grateful... Keep it up man 😉
there is a reality that we all have to face. the biggest streamers are mostly authentic and thats the secret. the masses smell if you arent and youll never be huge. be yourself and do what you like, stream it and if you have luck... they like you
@StreamScheme question: where did you get that super cool chat box that you have on stream (Twitch) PLS tell me + maybe a link mate. i LOVE UR CONTENT MATE!!!!
Just wanna say, your humor has gotten a hell of a lot better in you videos! Not that you were unfunny but a year ago your jokes looked almost forced and now I genuinely laugh! Your timing is really good! Goes to show that you get better as you put in the hours! Great work!
Actually originally the jokes were more similar to this but then There is about a year of content or more where I was struggling with depression :) It’s taken a lot of work to get back here.
I dunno, I have 0 viewers most of the time. Maybe 1. I just talk on. I am having fun playing a game. I am streaming for to put myself outside my comfort zone. I am stupidly shy. Maybe because of my autism. I never had good experiences with other people. My first month or two of streaming I was actually having a hard time with it. My voice was even straining badly because I never talk much IRL. I still need to learn how to edit a video for UA-cam. I'm just adding raw footage to my channel. I've made a clip or two of 1 small part of my video, just not sure how to break down 6 hour 12 hour videos into multiple clips for 1 video. (Uploading my first video to UA-cam ever today, so nervous)
Honestly, the only thing I feel that's holding me back is honestly the lack of schedule. I used to be consistent, getting around 2-3 viewers consistently every stream, sometimes actually hitting peaks of 5-6 here and there, but when I lost internet, got it back a few months later, and started streaming every now and then, here and there, i have had a lot less success on twitch ever since. Schedule really is important, and I just don't have that right now, since my life is kinda chaotic right now, but i'm slowly getting back into the swing of things.
Update, I'm now starting to stream a more constant schedule, every Monday that I am able to, and it really has helped me! I now get a constant viewership of around 2-4 people, and I have conversations throughout the stream! There have been 2 streams where I lost track of time and ending up streaming for 5-7 hours straight without a break! Needless to say, Time and Schedule is EXTREMELY important, and I'd recommend people get a schedule going for the same time that works for you the best! for me, it's around 8-9 AM on Mondays
This isn't my channel but I feel so discouraged being that I used to have 15 viewers constantly, 10 chatters, friends joining in... Strangers... Now I can't even get a friend on the stream. I feel like all content is the same these days & I don't know how to be different. I don't want to do what works because it's all become cliche. It's the reason most of my friends & myself don't watch streams anymore. It's all become marketing & the communities have all become googly eyes fans who seem to care more about the content than making the experience fun. When content started feeling like a dreadful job with a mix of insanity, it made me realize I don't care what Twitch viewers or UA-cam viewers like anymore. I've made a little money on an old UA-cam channel & old Twitch channel. I feel like back then you could be your genuine self, now everybody seems to have to sell out. It's annoying that streamers think of themselves so highly today when they have less than 50 viewers. They won't play with viewers, they almost seem like bots not for the views. It's all become so fake it's painful.
For me personally, i have been doing half and half of what you said for while, i make youtube highlights for the streams i do and tell myself im doing a youtube video and i try to keep entertainment going. I may not be as many chatters talking at once but i feel like i always make good content
8:17 Hate to break it to you, but in FireRed shiny odds were still FULL odds - meaning 1/8,192... so, it was even worse back then than it is now. Anyway, great advice! I make the same excuses, but I know they're excuses so I still try to power through.
I want to ask you the biggest question. As a disability man, I can’t speak English. American Sign Language is my first language which I can’t make a good content for hearing viewers like this way who don't know ASL. I had to type my iPhone a lot . It was really hard to interact with others. When I read chatters, I always try to find a good time to reply. I have to type iPhone while I can’t play. I died in that game often. Everyone can speak but some people can’t speak like me. I used to be so good at tony hawk game but I couldn’t connect with many viewers. That game is not popular game in 2023 anymore. Idk what to do. I wanted to talk as much as I could from my mind but I couldn’t speak 😢. I always wish I could sign language to webcam then it could translate into English as a subtitle. It will Be way easier for me to interact with viewers. It's really hard for being deaf streamer
I am just starting out with streaming and only usually get 2-3 viewers/chatters max and I have fun regardless! I’m continuing on because I’m having fun, the growth will come with time.
Hey, so I was thinking of changing my username because i feel my brand is not remember able . I want my username one syllable and 3-5 character and not taken. Any tips?
Being used to having a bunch of viewers per stream to being lucky to have 3+ consistently due to playing a different game simply because I don’t enjoy what I used to stream, I’ve learnt that if you enjoy what you play/do for stream, having chatters won’t matter, the fun will come from your own playtime, in the words of the famous Uncle Aaron “you’re on your way…keep going”!
Thanks for the info, I now know I don't have what it takes and am giving up. Thanks for preventing me from wasting that time I can dedicate to something else more productive.
I & a friend recently just started streaming, and i think it's better to be focusing on learning the basics about OBS and Twitch, do some testing, and just play with it for a wile, RATHER than focusing on making money or becoming famous. Not everyone even BECOMES famous🤷🏻♂️ but i think the more u learn & the more u focus on OBS, everything else might follow. But i am doing twitch now BOTH because i think it's fun, AND to challenge myself. Doing something i've never done before
For me, it is the absolute opposite. I am afraid to record, but streaming is so easy and I am good at it. Something about knowing people could be watching is enough to get me to do something like that.
Thx for the vid! I recently finally started to edit my vids using the PS5 share factory since I don't own a PC and I'm learning as I go. Guess I should buy a good mic and not use the headphones from what I keep hearing people say on UA-cam videos that I've been watching. Also, an issue I've ran across is that I'm playing a multiplayer game and my voice sounds so much louder than the other players on the chat so that sucks. Gotta figure out how to fix that. But yeah, I'm going to play an Indy horror game and use the tactics from this vid. I only have a PS4 camera so still need to buy the adapter to be able to plug that camera to my PS5 to record my face. I have so much to learn when it comes to edit though. I'll get there one day!
I have start off with zero and still have zero sometimes. I don't mind talking to myself about the game while streaming. You gotta be about you at the end of the day. You are your greatest fan. 😂😂😂😂😂 Your supposed to be gaming and to yourself figuring it out. Of course your gonna talk to yourself or talk aloud about things
As someone who primarily streams on Twitch but wants to go into video making, this is very insightful!! I've watched a lot of your videos before (big help, so thank you for what you do! 🙏) You mentioned, though, you weren't gonna edit your Vods anymore. Are you simply going to leave them and upload them as is? Or a separate vod channel? I know thats an odd question but Let me explain! I've been debating switching to UA-cam because the livestreams have their own section now. It makes UA-cam feel a lot more clean and concise! Maybe a video about the pros and cons of streaming on UA-cam vs Twitch for 2023 would be very helpful? I feel like im on the fence, but more information might help! I'm at the point where I have a loyal and loving community and now would be the best time to switch if I were to hence why I'm asking! Thank you again for your videos ❤❤❤
UA-cam streams never expire so they don’t need to be separated or anything, they’ll be there as a series for anyone to watch forever. I made a video covering all of that recently :)
I took your advice about making more time to make videos instead of streaming and I have to say I’m enjoying this whole content creation thing far more than I have been for the past two years. Thank you, Eljay. 🎉
Funny he called me out re: Resolve hehe. I actually bought my previous software a few years back but it didn't support 1440p. So I moved to resolve and have had to learn from scratch but man, I've been able to quickly and easily make shorts which have really had a positive impact on the channel. I didn't care about them before but I got out of my comfort zone and forced myself to learn some new shit. Now I can get more eyes towards my channel which is a win. I've had no issue talking to 0 viewers in the past - I always have the mindset that after the stream, when cool stuff happens, my reaction will be perfect for a short / tiktok. Also, its going to be cool as a tool when I'm a geezer with no memory to be able to relive my own experiences. Its like a gaming time capsule to me in a way. Anyway, whether I have no one in chat, I'm still talking and providing commentary because for that person that comes in, I want be engaging and into what I'm doing so that they may also become the same and say hi and get into whatever it is we're doing.
8:38 you mentioned having a video linked in the description that goes into further details about planning, but there are no videos in the description that lead to this. do you have the specific link to that video? I couldn't find it
Heyo, this video is so good. Instant thumbs up :). At one point you said you would link a longer video about storytelling structure but I don't see it 😢. Thanks for all the help tho fr
I'm streaming consistently on my channel (2-3 times a week) and I'm getting new followers each stream but I do need to work on being able to talk to myself more so when people to hop in my stream I don't suddenly perk up at their presence and drive them away
This is so true...i don't sympathise with people moaning about streaming to no one, try recording videos on UA-cam regularly with no commentary or subscribers 😂 that's the real grind
seeing the final tip, as well as remembering a content creator by the name of ChippysCouch , reminded me on why i wanted to make content, but at the same time im also not sure what stories i should say, especially now as i have a laptop capable of streaming quality video at 3000kbps at 1080p, and despite recommendations baised on both one of your videos and twitch, somehow im able to stream at perfect quality (though my last stream i forgot to mute my switch audio) with the only issues being a few bad frames at the start of stream which have gotten better at recovery (i dont even need to interfere with obs that much for the recovery) today I have uploaded a recording of my vod and i have linked my twitch in the description of said video but like the comments below and what you have stated in this video, just tell stories and pretend your making a video, but is it alright to interupt my story to respond to one of my chatters? (i dont have any but still)
I think my twitch is growing because I have no problem talking to myself and just sharing ideas, and funny thoughts lol. I haven’t been streaming that long and my feedback is starting good :)
I wish I had more time / money to put in to streaming, or even video creation. I work two jobs and everything is going to fines and bills. But what I'm mainly taking away from this is come up with good UA-cam ideas. Upload those and maybe stream it at the same time. Of course post socials and say you stream everyday.
I think the primary thing of this is that you don't need viewers to make good content, just that having active chatters makes it a lot easier to engage with and grow the community. Especially for people with anxiety.
Great video!! Although I have a challenge for you... HOW to help a DEAF streamer grows??? Being deaf meaning having a mic would be pointless and games wouldn't have commentary. Unless people either know or are learning American Sign Language lol. What would you suggest?
Honestly people should stop complaining over affiliate is to high, 3 viewers is incredible, but it takes time don’t be lazy man. i still don’t have affiliate and im loving it
I stream 3 times a week and try talking and being interesting all the time but just nobody checks my streams out. My friends told me that what I stream is boring but I enjoy what I stream
Coming back to this video with a thought: If you struggle with talking on stream with no one in chat to talk to, I highly recommend watching big streamers that are having competitions vs other streamers. This is because the chances are they've put chat into "emote only mode" as to not get an edge on the competition. You can then see how they comment on the game they're playing and manage to avoid the dreaded "dead air", despite not having chat to talk to. A good example of this is SmallAnt, who often does "bingo" or "lockouts" against other people in the games he plays.
I think the fact the Twitch is focused on so much on ads and making that work that it really hurts the viewer experience and, most of all, the browzing experience. That does mean people either don't browze or browze a lot less. Over time, people will favour other platforms to browze for people to watch. Example. I now only watch a few streamers. Because without fail, I'll enjoy myself. I don't look for new people as it's not fun to do that. It's rough. And it's not easy to find good content creators. So i just choose to watch ones i already know are good.
Did my first stream in a long time and a lot more seriously and was able to hold 4 viewers for a few minutes at a time but I did hold two for a decent majority of the stream. Was just pretending I was making yt video and shorts. Which I have a few moments that I think are good short material.
I do think I do a good job of entertaining and keeping in mind that each segment could be used for a short or UA-cam. I just don’t have enough time to edit the videos😭😭 great video as always tho
Actually it is fact. Because im just starting out. No name to me at all. Yet i am non stop talking that full two hours or so at a time. My vods have got 15 views. Like. Its just vocalising your mind. Even 5 followers and 1 that came back and even someone message me saying my content seems good. Like that feels amazing. If your looking to see if this guy helps yes he does. Ive learned actual good content.
Hey #NotificationSquad! Hope you're having a great week! Have you made any failures this week like I have? Think you'll try to take control of your viewers and focus on making good content?

I realized that not having viewers when I first started pushed me to tell better stories and be more entertaining on my stream, which in turn made for better content. Gaining viewers made me slack off and lose sight of what's important: make content that I find entertaining.
I was extremely surprised by your tactic of hitting "start recording" instead of "start streaming". I immediately thought that's absolutely genius. "Streaming" to 0 viewers instantly removes any anxiety from the equation and allows you to create awesome content that's easy to edit. I will 10000% try this Eljay, thanks for the fantastic content, as always.
I need you to teach me to not have a boring personality
Your best bet to grow a personality is by finding hobbies that interest you. Creating conversations during low times of stream is a great technique to keep engagement. I'm interested in modeling 3D objects, so I will talk about it a lot on streams
You’re not boring, your name is cool 🥪
As a small streamer I used a sports announcer mentality when I had 0 viewers. It helps fill the silence and describes what you're doing to anyone coming in. I've gained a lot of new followers/viewers doing this. Hopefully it can help someone else as well.
As a very small streamer myself it is hard when there isn’t anyone watching, but don’t give up. People will find you.
Whats your twitch I will support u
Thank you
I've been streaming for years with moderate success.. gotta say this video is the best advice I've ever heard.
One of the most important things is:
Just keep having fun.
This comment means a lot to me, thanks mate!
to this day this helping people, the best advice i got from any of the vids you put out, its been stream like there is always someone there, even if i have to turn off the view counter when i get discouraged them split moments before a view counter updates can be what drives a viewer away and its helpped alot, dont focus on the "grind" just have fun along the way and people you resonate with will find you, haha tho it does help if you promote yourself where you can without just spamming it
Such a great video Eljay, your final point hit me so hard. I stepped back from streaming at the start of the year to focus on just making videos and I've noticed such a difference in my mood and general happiness. I very rarely come away from making a video thinking I've had a bad time, can't say the same for my streams. Can 100% vouch for this advice!
Side note, can you make a video on your favourite editing tips and tricks, just little things to make the process itself easier, even in the recording process too, can't speak for anyone else, but a lot of channels which offer that kind of advice doesn't do it anywhere near the level you do
I'll take a look! I am branching the channels content out a lot this year, so happy to!
@@StreamScheme appreciate it! Keen to see what's in the works 👀
Thank you. Cheers!
I always look for your videos, so informative. Thanks!
6:55 step three was huge for me, Thankyou EJ ❤ I’ve watched your UA-cam for a very long time now and you helped me jump into just doing it and making an effort man. have a nice day ya legend 😊
And yes my mom is my #1 viewer still ❤
Man good thing im crazy and always talk to myself on and off stream
*crickets*
I dont care about being big or sucessful.....
The tip have really help me keep chatters chatting and now I'm averaging 5ish veiwers a stream
What was the tip?
@@Rhythm162. i meant the tips in generall i dindt mean anything specific
Are you still relaxing and enjoying your downtime after everything at least Traveler?
@Imagine Onward I kinda just focus more on my work then stream. I just relax when I don't work so it's a tough to stream
It felt a bit weird but I'm sure I'll get more comfortable with it.
i have been struggling a bit with being engaging and I have had very
good streams once I have chatters but when i don't have them
it's a struggle, and have been thinking of doing this instead, thanks for the tip.
keep goin don't give up
Bro casually dropped the best advice about confidence . This is dope man 🤘
It has been a while since i watch his content...
Great work!
Actually originally the jokes were more similar to this but then There is about a year of content or more where I was struggling with depression :)
It’s taken a lot of work to get back here.
@@StreamScheme Wow! Glad to see you're doing well! Crazy how it can affect the content :(
appreciate this you legend! honest and truthful =P funny as well
I dunno, I have 0 viewers most of the time.
Amazing video! So helpful.
It’s really quite challenging to make fun exciting content and having energy it’s a lot and 1-3 viewers minimum help
It's really hard for being deaf streamer
give and you shall receive... not the other way around (this comment is directed at the comment he showed at the start of the video)
Any tips?
Smarch
Being used to having a bunch of viewers per stream to being lucky to have 3+ consistently due to playing a different game simply because I don’t enjoy what I used to stream, I’ve learnt that if you enjoy what you play/do for stream, having chatters won’t matter, the fun will come from your own playtime, in the words of the famous Uncle Aaron “you’re on your way…keep going”!
I hope you know your advice is still helping people out 1 year later
You mentioned, though, you weren't gonna edit your Vods anymore.
Good to hear!
Keep up the good work!
Bro this was so eye opening
Could I stream being a silent streamer or do I need to talk?
I usually do my streams silent but I do reply to messages on stream.
Its much harder silent, near impossible. But if its for fun and you don't care about viewers, you do you.
Thanks for all the help tho fr
great advice! deeply taking this into consideration
THIS WAS SO MOTIVATING
I'm streaming consistently on my channel (2-3 times a week) and I'm getting new followers each stream but I do need to work on being able to talk to myself more so when people to hop in my stream I don't suddenly perk up at their presence and drive them away
Yo, is there a farm in that stream room. That advice was GOATed!
Yo Jay this video was really relatable..Thanks❣
Any advice specifically for DJ's that live stream?
This is so true...i don't sympathise with people moaning about streaming to no one, try recording videos on UA-cam regularly with no commentary or subscribers 😂 that's the real grind
seeing the final tip, as well as remembering a content creator by the name of ChippysCouch , reminded me on why i wanted to make content, but at the same time im also not sure what stories i should say, especially now as i have a laptop capable of streaming quality video at 3000kbps at 1080p, and despite recommendations baised on both one of your videos and twitch, somehow im able to stream at perfect quality (though my last stream i forgot to mute my switch audio) with the only issues being a few bad frames at the start of stream which have gotten better at recovery (i dont even need to interfere with obs that much for the recovery) today I have uploaded a recording of my vod and i have linked my twitch in the description of said video
but like the comments below and what you have stated in this video, just tell stories and pretend your making a video, but is it alright to interupt my story to respond to one of my chatters? (i dont have any but still)
I already did that editing thing!
It is very cringy seeing all the missed opportunities in the recordings...
Your new mic sounds amazing dude
I didn’t get one? Hahaha
@@StreamScheme oh well your voice just sounded real good at the beginning of this, nice voice bro
I love this and wish I could do it but I don’t even get that one viewer, not one to even try to hook with the chatting
What editing software do y’all use? I want to start doing this but I feel like it’s so daunting.
There’s an irrational number of people who fear/ hate clowns 😆. Appreciate the videos as always and as usual this hits home once again. Thank you!
Honestly people should stop complaining over affiliate is to high, 3 viewers is incredible, but it takes time don’t be lazy man. i still don’t have affiliate and im loving it
been streaming for 6 years haven't grown or pushed passed 2 viewers
I stream 3 times a week and try talking and being interesting all the time but just nobody checks my streams out. My friends told me that what I stream is boring but I enjoy what I stream
I like the idea of doing more recording and less streaming. How do you come up with an outline for a video?
Video on the channel about that :)
@@StreamScheme Oooo. I'll go look it up.
Coming back to this video with a thought:
If you struggle with talking on stream with no one in chat to talk to, I highly recommend watching big streamers that are having competitions vs other streamers.
Thanks for your content.
But how do I edit? What program do I use?
bitrate graph link is not working, just to let you know, love your content always :)
