    • @Mark-pp7jy
      @Mark-pp7jy 2 роки тому +4

      The first thing people need to know about getting and staying sober, is to STOP "battling", "fighting", or "struggling". All of those false notions keep a person focused on the substance, instead of focusing on living differently! How do I know this?...because I fought it for a decade and failed every time I said "enough". The moment we SURRENDER, is the moment the door of recovery cracks open. Peace!

    • @1w598
      @1w598 2 роки тому +1

      @@Mark-pp7jy Okay, but he was talking about Matthew, not TO him. And to others, Matthew is battling an addiction. "Surrendering" to it, would mean the addiction controls him. I've struggled with addiction myself.

    I was a meth addict and one day I decided to take full accountability of this and said to myself, it’s not the addiction keeping me down, it wasn’t being an addict that was my issue, it was me. And me alone. Not the drugs, alcohol, horrific abuse as a child etc etc etc. No. It was just me. I took FULL accountability as I was the only one in control, and quit cold turkey that day and never looked back. And it taught me so much about how we do have that control if you can see it.

I do wonder where you base you opinions on. If what you describe is helping you, great. But why do think you have the right to make judgements on someone else's life ?
