As a sarcastic person myself, I always appreciated how he made all his sarcasm truly emulate goodhearted teasing and joking. anyone else could've made that character come off as completely unlikable, but he was probably the most believable in his role and really funny.

He blew 100m on rehab. Think of how many drug addicts that money could have helped? People who were born into it, never had a chance, crack addict parents, abused, never went to school, lived on the streets, never had any money - that 100m could have gone a long way. But nope, he spent 100m on drugs, and 100m on rehab, and it made zero difference. Sad story, a shing star a comic genius, never had it in him to do anything other than get wasted.
R.I.P. to an amazing man who gave me 10 years of laughs. I really think he was the heart of this cast. I read that he was the only cast member that would go into the writers' room (they had an open door policy for the whole cast) & come up with at least 10 jokes per episode. He changed the way that ppl spoke ("Could I be any ______") & has entertained many generations. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
I love Friends. I have watched it multiple times, and it always cheers me up when I feel low. The show never failed to help me take my mind off things. Above all, I adored Chandler, his sarcasm, his special bond with Joey, and his fragility. To know what he went through during his life has been an eye-opener for me. He had demons, but he never let that get in the way of his performance, which, to me, is admirable. He hid his mental state from the world, even using it to his advantage while acting. And how he came clean publicly to help others going through the same shows he was a kind soul. Goodbye Matthew, goodbye Chandler, “my friend”. Thank you for all the laughs. You’ll forever be missed ❤

Nobody could come close to Matthew’s Chandler in those scenes. He was my favorite as the show ran. When he lost so much weight I knew something was wrong and worried. We found out what he was going through and prayed for him. I rejoiced when I got his book and knew he had finally beat it, and loved him even more. All he wanted was to help other people. He was so loving, giving, and kind. He’s someone you just don’t get over, especially if you were watching in 1994 when he came to us. R.I.P. Dear Matty. It was way too soon. 😢💔

My favourite Matthew Perry blooper is from Season 10. I forget the context, but Chandler is asking Rachel for advice in Central Perk, and the little girl playing Emma keeps pointing at the audience. Matthew was the type of person I could laugh and feel safe by when watching this show. He was one of the reasons why friends, not only became my obsession show, it became my comfort show. I always would watch it whenever I was feeling overwhelmed and it would help me to just calm down. Chandler was my second favorite character on the show and it’s still very upsetting that Matthew is gone.
Matthew was definitely my favorite person on FRIENDS. He will be missed by many. I hope his legacy continues with people continuing to seek help from their addictions and the ones that get clean & sober channel their journey with him as their guide to healing and a more healthy & positive future.

My younger sister and I used to watch Friends together back in the day and Chandler was our favorite character, she passed away 3 years ago and seeing Matthew Perry go this way brakes my heart once again, hopefully my sister already met him up in heaven... for a lot of people the cast of Friends was more than just characters in a show, they were actual friends and as the years pass I realize how lucky I was to have spend the time I did with my sister watching them. Oh man, it still feels unreal. He played Chandler so well and most of the best bloopers are with Matthew Perry in it. Friends was one of the first shows I've seen as a kid with my mom. The night I heard the news, I was so shocked and sad. Our King of Sarcasm, Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) is gone, but he will always be remember as someone who made us laugh when we we're feeling down or just wanted a good laugh. He was struggling with issues while filming F.R.I.E.N.D.S, and he came out to help other people as well. No one can replace him and no one will. He will be known as our Chandler Bing forever. In the reunion, Matthew mentioned how he felt he would die if he didn’t get a laugh from the audience. I think I can see that reaction at 2:38, when the audience doesn’t laugh altogether. I’m comforted to know that he had a good few years after recovery, and was at peace with himself, just as the great person he was.

I do not know, I know it by heart and it is still funny - obviously the original is the best but first I watched it in Ukrainian, an episode per day when I had a chance as a kid. I think the humor is timeless, not forced, amazing chemistry between the cast. I am in Ottawa now and Matthew grew here, it hit hard, despite all the craziness and all the devastation in the world, it hit so hard...
I've always loved the part when Chandler was messing around with Rachel's boss and gets handcuffed to the filing cabinet, and hits the back of his head with the door. can't imagine what he went through to stay in character!!! granted it wasn't supposed to be the take that stayed but it's always a winner in my heart

One of my fav scenes of Matt was when him and Joey were trapped in Monica's bedroom when Ross and Rachel were having a long talk about their breakup. And Chandler finds some condoms so he does the "huh?" look to Joey who replies "You never know, we might have to repopulate the earth!" and Chandler says "And... CONDOMS are how we're going to do that..." lol their chemistry was so good during this show. One of the first shows my wife and I bonded over when we first lived together. His humor has influenced so many people and the sarcastic, dry humor is something I still use to this day.

A lot of celebrities have come and gone, but Mathew Perry is one who set a mark for a generation. He was a inspiration and a heart of gold. It is sinking in the great loss that has taken place. My favourite Matthew Perry blooper is from Season 10. I forget the context, but Chandler is asking Rachel for advice in Central Perk, and the little girl playing Emma keeps pointing at the audience. Jennifer Aniston keeps reacting to this, to which Perry responds with, “Look, I know she’s cute, but I could really use some advice.” Cracks me up every time.

Matthew was the type of person I could laugh and feel safe by when watching this show. He was one of the reasons why friends, not only became my obsession show, it became my comfort show. I always would watch it whenever I was feeling overwhelmed and it would help me to just calm down. Chandler was my second favorite character on the show and it’s still very upsetting that Matthew is gone.
Matthew was definitely my favorite person on FRIENDS. He will be missed by many. I hope his legacy continues with people continuing to seek help from their addictions and the ones that get clean & sober channel their journey with him as their guide to healing and a more healthy & positive future.
When he was in Cougar Town with Courtney the outtake at the end of the episode was brilliant, in character he walked past the cast and said "Grayson....MONICA."

My younger sister and I used to watch Friends together back in the day and Chandler was our favorite character, she passed away 3 years ago and seeing Matthew Perry go this way brakes my heart once again, hopefully my sister already met him up in heaven... for a lot of people the cast of Friends was more than just characters in a show, they were actual friends and as the years pass I realize how lucky I was to have spend the time I did with my sister watching them. Rest in peace my friend.

Oh man, it still feels unreal. He played Chandler so well and most of the best bloopers are with Matthew Perry in it. Friends was one of the first shows I've seen as a kid with my mom. She had those CDs back then and I feel like in a way he influenced my sarcasm side when I grew up. RIP to our tv friend.

The night I heard the news, I was so shocked and sad. Our King of Sarcasm, Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) is gone, but he will always be remember as someone who made us laugh when we we're feeling down or just wanted a good laugh. He was struggling with issues while filming F.R.I.E.N.D.S, and he came out to help other people as well. No one can replace him and no one will. He will be known as our Chandler Bing forever. RIP Matthew Perry!👑🙏💚💙

In the reunion, Matthew mentioned how he felt he would die if he didn’t get a laugh from the audience. I think I can see that reaction at 2:38, when the audience doesn’t laugh altogether. I’m comforted to know that he had a good few years after recovery, and was at peace with himself, just as the great person he was.

I've heard many people criticise 'Friends' for not being funny, but there's no denying that Matthew Perry was just naturally comedic. He just had that presence about him. All his lines and mannerisms were so natural. R.I.P ❤
I do not know, I know it by heart and it is still funny - obviously the original is the best but first I watched it in Ukrainian, an episode per day when I had a chance as a kid. I think the humor is timeless, not forced, amazing chemistry between the cast. I am in Ottawa now and Matthew grew here, it hit hard, despite all the craziness and all the devastation in the world, it hit so hard...

I've always loved the part when Chandler was messing around with Rachel's boss and gets handcuffed to the filing cabinet, and hits the back of his head with the door. can't imagine what he went through to stay in character!!! granted it wasn't supposed to be the take that stayed but it's always a winner in my heart

One of my fav scenes of Matt was when him and Joey were trapped in Monica's bedroom when Ross and Rachel were having a long talk about their breakup. And Chandler finds some condoms so he does the "huh?" look to Joey who replies "You never know, we might have to repopulate the earth!" and Chandler says "And... CONDOMS are how we're going to do that..." lol their chemistry was so good during this show. One of the first shows my wife and I bonded over when we first lived together. His humor has influenced so many people and the sarcastic, dry humor is something I still use to this day.
