I brought this head last week. I thought I could replace the Oregon brush cutter with it. I either do something wrong or it’s not though enough for my property. I went through at least 3m of line for a 300sqm area of tall grass and weeds. There are many rocks and stones tbh. I probably have to replace the string line every 5 minutes or so. So far I am not impressed! I am soaking some string in water atm, I hope it will improve my results…
Thats not great results, this cord has battered through everything i have thrown at it. Even mature bramble. It was just grass on the video really but i only changed the cord out once on that back garden. I have been impressed with it. I don't need to keep swapping between the blade and the strimmer head. This does everything.
I soaked the cord in water for a week! Huge difference!!! Worked for 20 minutes and the cord was still on the trimmer head! Before I had to change it every couple of minutes!!!!
Hi Matt i want to ask your advice please,i have to trim a large area of thick lush grass thats to long and thick for mower to cut and drop, the fs 131 i use actually struggles a bit with it as always wet as well,do you think the jet fit would help in this situation,i normally use 2.7 starline line ,any advice would be much appreciated buddy.
Used a similar head years ago, rubbish unless you're doing nice well kept back yards where you don't hit stones and fence posts constantly. Save more time with a bump head not having to take your strimmer off every time. 18ft of 3.3mm black cord in our sthil strimmers. Could always use the metal cutting heads for clearing, no messing around with them, may have a small cutting area but time saved not messing with cord makes up for it.
Not been my experience. Theres a 4mm cord on these and it will outlast the whole strimmer head cord. Causes less damage to fences and furniture that the blade too.

What strimmer harness do you use please
Just a stihl one. I think its called the forestry advance.
@@MattGlynn thanks
The rotation of your trimmer is opposite to the design lock of the Jetfit blade, you could bring the issue to Oregon
You can physically put the cord in facing anyway. Works just the same any way I found

Exactly what I just experienced with the Oregon jet fit!

@@MattGlynn I was using the 4mm cord!
Are you just cutting grass?
My fields are a mix of weeds, grass, reeds.. maybe 1/2 inch/ 12mm thick max..
@@MarcRademacher ah right, no I have used it on thick grass and mature bramble. Bramble is the worse stuff we have here I would say.
I soaked the cord in water for a week!
The difference is night and day!!
Morning Matt
